Porky Wrights

Porky Wrights is set in Old Leake village, a 20 minute drive from Boston and 30 minutes from Skegness. The Woodpecker shepherd's hut is set in its own paddock overlooking fields and open skies with minimal light pollution, an ideal spot to relax and unwind surrounded by nature and wonderful dark skies. The ensuite hut is complete with a double bed, TV, log burner and underfloor heating, plus a kitchenette with a fridge, oven and hob too.

About Porky Wrights

Set on a working small holding, home to rare breed pigs, horses, sheep, chickens and turkeys! Located in rural Lincolnshire, just 20 minutes from Boston and 30 minutes from Skegness, there is plenty to explore in the surrounding area, there is even a pub just a 15 minute stroll away so you can truly unwind and not have to think about cooking! Guests will be staying in the Woodpecker shepherd's hut, the only hut on site. It is adult only and fully self-contained with an ensuite, kitchenette, double bed, TV and the log burner and underfloor heating ensure cosy evenings wrapped under a blanket. The private decking is perfect for relaxing and admiring the countryside views, with plenty of outdoor seating as well as a fire pit to keep you warm. The site has brilliant clear skies that are great for stargazing, it's not uncommon to see a shooting star or even the International Space Station passing over! Dan and the team will be on hand to greet you with parking just next to the hut for ease of unpacking your gear. If you wish, the site can arrange accompanied tours around the smallholding to visit the animals, even the rare Middle White Pig! Animal feeding is not permitted, sorry. The site is a haven from wildlife, aside from the resident animals, expect to see barn owls, woodpeckers, buzzards, jays and an array of other birdlife. You may even catch a glimpse of Muntjac deer as they walk along the hedge line at the back of the hut. The site is also 30 minutes from a RAF base so you may also spot some jets or military aircraft flying over. The shepherd's hut is pet free, sorry. Campfires in the designated fire pit are welcome and the site provides disposable BBQs and utensils for guests to use.

Facilities and amenities

The shepherd's hut is self contained, complete with an ensuite with a toilet and shower as well as a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, oven and hob.

Outside there are plenty of seating options. A disposable BBQ and utensils are supplied.

For picking up any essentials there is a Co-op in Old Leake Village just a ten minute drive from the site. Here there is also electric vehicle charging and a post office. The Butchers Arms is just down the road, serving a range of local ales, a 15 minute walk away, or there are other pubs in Old Leake Village that serve food, ten minutes from the site.
