About Applewood Countryside Park
Surrounded by mature trees and laurel hedges, Applewood Countryside Park is the perfect family and dog-friendly retreat from which to explore Norfolk's beautiful countryside, offering excellent facilities, luxury glamping and seasonal events. Fancy a holiday in the great outdoors? Caravans, campervans, motorhomes and tents are all welcome and there is a great choice of spacious electric and non electric pitches, with hardstanding and XL pitches also available. Large groups and rally clubs are welcomed too. For glampers, there are a host of tempting options. If you fancy a hassle free stay, you can choose a standard glamping pod that is delightfully cosy and unfurnished. There are also posh pods, which sleep two and include a comfortable double or twin bed, plus a small kitchenette and TV. Or you can really treat yourself with a stay in a shepherd's cabin complete with stylish interior, ensuite bathroom, compact kitchen area and a charming sitting/dining area to ensure a relaxing self-catering break - real luxury! Banham Zoo is right on the doorstep too, not only offering a fun-filled day out with discounted entry tickets for guests, but the unique experience of waking up to the sound of roaring tigers and barking sea lions!
Touring is available from February to December while glamping is available all year round.
On site facilities include private shower rooms and toilets, with two fully accessible family bathrooms, free WiFi, children's play area and laundry facilities. Each private shower room has underfloor heating, a changing bench, sink, mirror and hooks.
There's a children's play trail and event space for groups inside Applewood Hall. A dog exercise area is also provided and ice pack freezing is available.
The campsite boasts a great location next to Banham Zoo and is within walking distance to the village of Banham and its amenities, where you'll find a family-friendly pub, convenience store, local butchers, takeaway restaurant and beauty salon.

From the warm welcome we received, we were blown away by Applewood, an absolutely lovely caravan and camping site. All the facilities were spotless and open all day. You won't be disappointed by the showers, your own private room with a powerful shower. You have the zoo, shops, butchers and chip shop with a lovely walk to the red lion pub, about 2.6 miles... a little gem of a site, we will be going back as soon as we can.

Very friendly and efficient staff that couldn't do enough for you. We found this site as a last minute booking and there were no more electric hooks up available but on arrival, Karen the manager sorted it very quickly at a small £5 charge. Very clean and well positioned pitches, we were at the back of the park, it was lovely and quiet. Only one negative, the female showers were so hot you couldn't stand underneath and there were no adjustment controls so there is no way a child could use them. We did find out afterwards that there were more modern showers in the next block.

Things to do on site and in the Banham area
The site hosts regular seasonal events including an annual Easter egg hunt, street food pop-up weekends and popular Halloween Spooktacular event.
Adjacent to the park is one of the country's most exciting wildlife attractions, Banham Zoo, where you can meet 2,000 animals from around the world and get your little ones giggling over their incredible antics. Guests even enjoy a discount on the price of admission when staying at Applewood.
Norfolk is packed with excellent things to see and do! The coastline is one of England's best and there are tempting pubs on every corner.
Walks along the River Wensum are idyllic and perfect for all the family, plus there are walks and bike routes to roam further afield.
