About Church View Campsite

Ideally situated between Newmarket and the historic Bury St Edmunds, kick back at this friendly camping and glamping site within easy reach of Suffolk and Norfolk. It's only a ten minute walk from two pub restaurants in Barrow village and has its own cafe bar open during the peak season between May and September. There's a selection of grass and hardstanding pitches, most including 10 amp electric and others serviced with water too. Extra large pitches cater to large tents too, and the site also has space for solo travellers/bikers. There is a spacious pitch field with extra room to pitch your own way together with 10 amp electric and water at the pitch. Large vehicles can be accommodated but be aware that there is a slope to enter the site. The owners are more than happy to help you onto and off of the pitch and an alternative entrance is available on request. Or you can rest up in a luxury pod cabin. Sleeping up to five, this converted container glamping option is equipped with heating, air-con, TV, fridge and microwave. You will share the usual campsite facilities and bring your own bedding. One well behaved dog is welcome. Up to two dogs are welcome per pitch or in the glamping pod cabin, however, they are not allowed on the non electric grass backpacker pitches, sorry.

The site is open from 28th March until 1st October with the exception of the large electric pitches which open 2nd April.

A note from the site themselves...

We are a family run site and are what you might call 'rustic' but with a lot going on and the desire to want our guests to feel at home. Having only been a campsite since 2019 we are happy that so many of our guests have returned.

We have a contactless check-in but always attempt to introduce ourselves and we are on site when needed. Visiting children often enjoy meeting our animals including our guinea pigs who love morning cuddles and our rabbits who will greet anyone with dandelions or veggies on offer!

Glamping Cabin - Glamping Pod CabinAug 2023

Lovely little campsite with plenty for the kids to do such as mini golf, archery and the escape rooms. We stayed in the pod, which was very nice indeed - clean, spacious with all mod cons. Ice cold air con, which was a godsend as the weather was so hot. Handy little café/bar, plenty of showers and loos. Good location near town of Bury St Edmunds for activities such as swimming, Lazer Quest and go carts. The village the campsite is located in has lovely pubs and convenience stores. Would definitely stay again.

A nice stop over

Single Axle Caravan - Serviced Hardstanding and Grass PitchesSep 2023

A nice place to stay, would go again, the kids enjoyed it. The crazy golf was the kids' highlight, although pricey with 3 kids - £40 for two rounds. Seems plenty to do, i.e. archery, grown up assault course, escape room - all this literally next to the campsite, but everything was extra. However, the campsite was lovely and clean, very good facilities, easy access, very well planned and first class contact with gate codes, pitch etc. This was a big plus and one of the best for this. Would we go again? Yes. Would we recommend? Yes.

Excellent lots of great things for the kids and very friendly staff
