About Get Away Hide Away

In the heart of the Norfolk countryside within the Wensum valley you'll find a hidden and off-grid escape. Once a working farm and now turned family home Get Away Hide Away provideds a stay for the whole family surrounded by wildlife in two acres of wildflower meadow. These two converted horse lorries have been beautifully furnished to an impeccable standard equipped with all you could need. Both nestled in their own half an acre of wildflower meadow with private facilities a few steps away. Douglas offers a cosy stay for up to four people, with a super king sized bed positioned over the cab and a smaller bed underneath, ideal for a child or a small adult. There is also a small sofa bench seat that can sleep one but do note that bedding isn't provided for this bed. There is a homely kitchen area with a 4 hob cooker grill, a sink and ample counter space. You'll also find all the essentials, from a kettle to utensils, pans and crockery. What once was the ramp of the horse lorry is now a lovely decking area with a table and chairs to enjoy alfresco dining, or on those colder nights sit inside around the toasty wood burner. The second converted horse lorry is Dixie. Sleeping four with a little more space across a king sized bed (accessible by an old library ladder) and a large sofa bed. The interior is equipped with a well socked kitchen, offering a large Belfast sink, fridge/freezer, hour hob grill and oven. Relax on not one but two decking areas, the first floor deck offers a table and chairs but if you continue up the stairs you reach the top floor. Offering views of the site from four meters high, great for admiring the views all year round with a covered roof. Why not get a group together and hire out the whole site? Perfect for up to 14 people enjoy the two acre field all to yourself with use of both glamping units and space for four additional tents. Enjoy a surprise welcome pack of local goodies by letting the site know any dietary requirements and your scent of preference on booking. Both Douglas and Dixie have large fire pits for you to use with BBQ tools and a griddle provided. Sorry no dogs.

Exclusive Site Hire

Max 14 people

Hire of the entire two acre site including the two glamping units and space for four additional tents. Parking available for six cars only.

Things to do on site and in the Dereham area

You'll never have to leave the site if you're after a peaceful break surrounded by wildlife. Spend your days looking out for birds of prey such as buzzards red kits or kestrels and watch the butterflies and roe deer explore the sites wild meadows.

There is plenty to see and do nearby too. Esling is a small historic village with many local walks and attractions such as the manor house where they offer the occasional walk in the Open Gardens. Explore the many footpaths and cycle routes running through.

Norwich is just half an hours drive away, boasting with arts, culture and history it's a great city for a day out.
