About the site

Set on the peaceful edge of the Norfolk Broads, this small, family-run eco campsite offers spacious meadow pitches and cosy glamping, just 20 minutes from the Suffolk coast. The site has nine grass pitches in total, including two non electric pitches for backpackers and small tents. These pitches are for guests arriving on foot or by bike. There are also two optional electric pitches for campervans and roof tents, located in a small paddock. A further five spacious grass pitches (10m x 10m) can accommodate units up to 7m by 5m and offer an optional 10 amp hook up. Each pitch comes with its own picnic bench and is suitable for tents and trailer tents. For a touch of extra comfort, the Bumblebee Pod provides a cosy retreat for couples, featuring a double bed, dining table and a compact kitchenette with a kettle and fridge. Bedding and towels are included, and guests have access to private facilities nearby. The Dragonfly and Foxglove shepherd's huts are equipped with a double bed, dining table, log-burning stove, and kitchenette with a gas hob, kettle and more. Guests can also pitch an additional tent beside the hut. Outside, there is seating, a fire pit and private facilities. Ideally positioned, the campsite is just five minutes from Beccles, where boat hire is available on the Broads. The seaside towns of Southwold and Walberswick, known for their beaches and crabbing spots, can both be reached within a 30 minute drive. To help protect the meadow and preserve the car-free feel, vehicles are not permitted on most pitches. Wheelbarrows are provided to assist with transporting camping gear, and as the site spans just three acres, everything is within easy reach. Dogs are welcome to join your stay on the pitches and in the glamping units. BBQs and fire pits are permitted, provided they are raised off the ground. Wood must be purchased onsite.

The Wildings Elms Meadow is open from 06/03 to 22/10. Stay from £20/night for 2 people (2-night minimum).

Large Tent - Optional Electric Grass PitchesMay 2026

A beautiful site, not too far from The White Lion pubs, there are 2. It isn't far from amenities, Beccles is only 10 mins drive for Morrisons, Tesco, etc. The site itself is well set out. The only negative, if there is one, is the toilets are in the shower rooms, not a problem when it's quiet like it was while we were there, but could be when pitches are full. Also, no chem toilet disposal area. Otherwise, a perfect site.

A note from the site themselves...

We are the Connor family, and we live in the main house at The Wildings Elms Meadow. We spent much of our early career working full on jobs in London, but after losing a close loved one, we decided to pack it all in and bought a campervan.

For six months, we drove through 18 European countries with our 6 month and 3 year old daughters. A kind of cathartic journey where we could process the grief and reassess what was important. During that journey, we parked up for the night on farmers' fields, in woodlands, campsites, beaches and city centre car parks. We were exposed to the most magical places and experiences.

People opened their homes and hearts to us in a way that we didn't expect, exposing us to the beauty of humanity. Over time, we built a dream of setting up a small, intimate, camping/glamping site that offers a natural space for people to slow down, reconnect with each other and nature.

We are environmentally conscious, and this runs through everything we do, from recycling facilities, refilled toiletries, and rewilded areas. Above all, we want The Wildings Elms Meadow to be a place where you can switch off, slow down and reconnect, whether that's around a fire pit under the stars or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of the meadow.
