About Coast and Castles Camping
The campsite is based within roughly 10 minutes' drive of Alnwick and around four minutes from the ancient St Oswald's Way which offers lovely views. Explore the harbour at Craster (10 minutes' drive away) or try some watersports on the sandy beach at Alnmouth, close by. Grassed pitches are reinforced with mesh or there are a set of hardstandings too which will suit motorhomes and campervans. For those travelling without a tent, hiring a comfy bell tent is ideal. Each bell tent comes furnished with a double bed, chair beds and a handy campers kitchen. A perfect way to travel light! This family friendly site allows dogs, camp fires and off ground BBQs.

The site offers five camping loos and five gas powered showers, with further portable loos over busy periods. These include family changing and baby changing facilities. A bar is provided with an undercover seating area.
A five minute drive takes you to a seaside restaurant at Boulmer, and there are cafes and a food shop at Longhouton (five mins).

Great location and bar onsite was a bonus with lovely bar staff. Self check in on campsite but I didn’t see any members of staff at all anywhere. There was a problem with blocked loo and a pungent aroma filled air. A shop of some kind on site would have been good as there are none around.

A good campsite for a short stop over but the facilities need urgent improvement. Location is good, pitch size was excellent. There was some confusion over electric hookup but that was minor. Gin shack was good Not enough washing up facilities, not enough showers or toilets and due to the way they've been constructed, they were cold as the wind whistled through. The showers had poor water pressure and the main block needs a building to surround it, the facilities were a disappointment.

Excellent stay, we'll be back and would highly recommend! Enjoyed a drink at the Gin Tin our last night - impressed with the facilities.

Things to do on site and in the Alnwick area
Seaton Point is a nice place for a dawdle and you won't want to miss sandy Alnmouth beach (10 mins) or unspoilt Warkworth beach which is a few minutes further
Fishing trips are possible from Craster (by pre-booking) and the town is a great place to potter around art galleries, taste some traditional kippers and get to know local life.
Also well worth seeing is the National Trust's Dunstanburgh Castle (15 mins) and Alnwick itself which has interesting shops and a steam railway.
