Highburn House Country Holiday Park is a family run site set on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. The park is scenically situated with a central running stream and beautiful panoramic views overlooking the Cheviot Hills and valleys. Centrally located, it's within easy reach of Harry Potter's Alnwick Castle, Holy Island, and the magnificent Bamburgh Castle and beach, Seahouses and the bustling market town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

About the site

This family run park caters for couples or families and also attracts many hill walkers and outdoor enthusiasts. It's also close to Scotland, should you wish to venture across the border for more adventures! Relax in a spacious area for campers, motorhomes and tourers, with or without electric. The pitching area is partly bordered with trees but still with wonderful panoramic views over the valley and surrounding countryside. At the foot of the Cheviot Hills, you'll be a convenient short walk from the main shopping area of the market town, Wooler, with lots of local pubs to choose from too. Dogs are welcome, they even have their own walking are on site to stretch their legs. Please keep them on a lead. BBQs are allowed as long as they are raised off the ground, although sorry no campfires or firepits.

The park offers modern washroom facilities with free hot showers, vanity areas, hair and hand dryers. There is also a disabled wash and toilet room with personal shower and mother and baby changing area. You'll also find a dishwashing area and launderette, including a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities.

There's a children's play area and a seating area with picnic tables, as well as a dog walking area. At reception, you'll find a small coffee shop selling tea, coffee, local ice cream, drinks and nibbles, as well as free WiFi.

The market town of Wooler is less than a five minute drive away and hosts a selection of local specialty food and craft shops, as well as the local butchers and bakers, some restaurants, cafes and public houses.

Unfortunately Highburn House Country Holiday Park doesn't share their availability calendar with us yet. Availability changes quickly, especially in summer, so we recommend enquiring by phone to avoid missing out.

Site rules and policies

* All camping and touring pitches are available from 12 noon and must be vacated before 11am.

* As we are a family orientated park, we do not allow groups of more than two units together on the park.

* As pet owners ourselves, we welcome your dogs, however do require them to be on leads and kept under control at all times.

* We do not allow open campfires, although we do welcome BBQ's as long as they are raised off the ground.

* Please no noise after 10pm, we would like you to respect your fellow campers.

* Visitors are allowed between 11am - 6pm and they must park their vehicle in the visitors carpark and walk up to your pitch.

From the site, you'll find miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore. The town of Wooler is only just a short walk away, with shops, restaurants and even a Whisky Distillery.

For those wanting to venture slightly further afield, Northumberland has a huge varied landscape, ranging from the splendour of the Cheviot Hills and Northumberland National Park, a walker's paradise, to one of the best coastlines in Britain with its small, quaint fishing ports and beautiful sandy beaches.

Numerous castles like Alnwick Castle, Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle are perfect for history buffs. Don't miss historic houses like Cragside near Rothbury and the splendid gardens at Alnwick. Or why not just jump in your car and drive the quiet country lanes and make your own adventure!
