South Whittlieburn offers a wonderful experience for families, couples and the single traveller. It is set in the beautiful Brisbane Glen just outside the very popular seaside town of Largs. The farm itself is a working sheep farm and also operates a small horse livery yard. Open year round and boasts beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. An absolute must for all visitors to this area!

About South Whittlieburn Farm Certificated Location

South Whittlieburn Farm is a delightful family run camping and touring site. It is run by a young family who are very much enjoying welcoming guests and sharing the beautiful place they call home. The site holds an enviable position of feeling like it is in the middle of nowhere but being conveniently placed just 2.5 miles from the attractive and vibrant seaside resort of Largs. It features different areas to camp and park up and there are some pitches which are on hardstanding. All pitches can be provided with electric hook up. There is an area for setting up a small BBQ. The area is well enclosed and small children and dogs are welcome. There are many walks which can be taken from the site and they offer breathtaking views over the Clyde and to Cumbrae and beyond. Dogs are welcome although must be kept on a lead. A particularly stunning viewpoint is from Knockhill which can be accessed just nearby. There are many restaurants and bars in Largs and recommendations can be given on request. There are also a number of supermarkets and there are lots of lovely gift shops and places to visit. There really is something for everyone and if you have a particular request the owners will do their very best to help and assist.

No campfires on grass areas

Many cyclists come to the area as there are a number of routes which can be found and a leisurely cycle can be to Largs and along the promenade.

The Island of Cumbrae is a short ferry trip and the village of Millport can be visited. There are also sailings to Arran from closeby Ardrossan and Dunoon and Bute can readily be visited as well. Glasgow and surrounding towns such as Gourock, Rhu and Greenock are easily accessible and there is a super train service to Glasgow every hour.

There are two golf courses nearby being Largs Golf Club and Routenburn. There is horse racing at Ayr and, for the sailors, there is some of the best sailing in the west coast of Scotland.
