Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring PitchesJun 2023

This was a small and friendly site. Really quiet despite being close to the washing up and toilet block. The family were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Site's response

We are a small independent site set in the rolling Corvedale Hills and an ideal base to sit and chill or discover and explore all that the beautiful Shropshire Hills have to offer including castles and market towns. Miles of walking and cycling for those so inclined. Being an adults only site our guests do tend to be respectful of other guests and noise is kept to a minimum after 11pm. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, it is much appreciated.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2023

Great views at this site, pitch was a good size, the grass cut nice and short. Had full shower rooms to use, which were nice and clean. Recycling services were also available. Can use barbecues, a slab and bricks to raise it off the ground were provided for us. We would definitely recommend and definitely return another time. All in all a good campsite, and the weather was amazing for us, we both had a lovely break..

Site's response

The generous size pitches allow our guests to pitch up to take advantage of the views, angle their sleeping/seating area to their preferred position, taking into account the gentle slope of the site. It also helps guests relax as they have space to themselves and therefore an element of privacy. We have a combination of toilets and toilet/shower rooms (all accessed by their own door) and operate on the proviso that if it is locked - someone is is using it. Thank you for commenting on their cleanliness. We provide bricks and slabs to the pitches to raise BBQs and firepits off the ground to help preserve the grass and keep it green. We try to help preserve the environment by encouraging guests to recycle glass, tins, plastics, cardboard, paper and food waste. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and that we may see you again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a nice review - it is much appreciated.

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring PitchesApr 2023

A warm welcome and good service. Showers very clean and tidy and the whole site was very clean. It was a bit muddy at the entrance to bin area on grass after heavy rain.

Site's response

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review - it is much appreciated. Unfortunately due to the unprecedented amount of rain we have had and the run off from the surrounding hills parts of the site have become rather waterlogged and muddy. Due to the sogginess at the rubbish and recycling area entrance we have today moved this area to behind the office / information hut and this may become it's permanent location. The facilities are cleaned several times a day regardless of the weather so are pleased you found them clean and tidy. Thank you again.

Great site for a relaxed weekend. Plenty of walks to do or visit Ludlow. Brian was really friendly and couldn't have been more helpful.

Site's response

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. There are many walks that can be taken / linked into direct from the site and miles of walking in the beautiful Shropshire Hills including The Long Mynd, Carding Mill Valley, Wenlock Edge. Ludlow a historic medieval market town with a castle, river, forest, market and independent shops and eateries is well worth a mooch round. We have plenty of information on what is in the area so just ask. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, it is much appreciated.

Lovely quiet park, good facilities and very clean. Had a nice relaxing break.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review - it is much appreciated. We are glad you had a nice relaxing break We are a quiet and peaceful site (noise kept to a minimum after 11pm) set in the rolling Corvedale Hills and are surrounded by farmland. Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring PitchesAug 2022

I would thoroughly recommend this site. Nice and quiet, the facilities were spotless and the owners Jane and Brian were more than helpful. The selection of herbs to add to your cooking was a lovely touch.

Site's response

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hopefully sampled some of the herbs. We have parsley, lemon parsley, mint, spearmint, chives, rosemary and sage. The rosemary has been a big hit with people having a lamb BBQ. We are a quiet and peaceful site - adults only - set in the rolling Corvedale Hills - surrounded by farm land but not too far from shops, eateries, amenities, attractions. We are an ideal base for exploring and discovering the beautiful Shropshire Hills and all they have to offer. Thank you for your recommendation, it is much appreciated.

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

Excellent. Very quiet, very clean and peaceful! Easy access, owners very pleasant and helpful.

Site's response

Thank you for leaving us a review it is much appreciated. We have access directly off the B4368 Craven Arms to Bridgnorth Road (briefly on a shared drive which lorries use on a very regular basis). We are an adults only site so noise is kept to a minimum and guests can sit and chill and listen to the birdsong and chat to their partner, friend or family surrounded by the living landscape the rolling Corvedale Hills provide. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating when my sister forgot her tent poles! They made us feel very welcome and the other campers were also very lovely. Would stay again.

Site's response

We are glad we could help you and that you enjoyed your stay. If you ever forget anything it is always worth asking the owners if they have anything you can borrow - if they don't they should be able to advise you where you can get it. (Your sister was not the first person to leave the right tent poles at home). We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you for leaving us a review.

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJul 2022

We were booked in for two nights camping but ended up extending it to 3 nights. Beautiful campsite, slightly on a slope, but it didn't cause a problem. The site is lovely with lots of trees and greenery. There are lots of birds and we even saw a red kite a few times - beautiful. The hosts are all lovely and friendly and informative. The facilities could do with a bit of upgrading but everything was clean and worked well, so that was just my personal preference. Location wise the site is a few miles from a supermarket at Craven Arms. Adult only and dog-friendly, perfect!

Site's response

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the trees and birds. Being an adults only site guests can sit and chill being serenaded by a variety of birds. Red Kites and Buzzards are regularly seen flying over the site. We are situated in the rolling Corvedale Hills midway between the historic market town of Ludlow with it's castle independent shops and eateries, river, market and Church Stretton right by Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd. The generous pitches allow guests to pitch their unit to accommodate the slight slope and take advantage of the views. Craven Arms has Tuffins a large independent supermarket, butchers, bakers, chemist, cafes, take a ways, couple of pubs, petrol station, mainline train station, Discovery Centre and Stokesay Castle to name a few. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring PitchesJul 2022

We spent 2 nights in this place. The pitches are very large and beautifully laid out between trees. The sanitary facilities are spacious and the shower temperature can be regulated. We were greeted very warmly and the owners were very helpful. (Translated from German)

Site's response

We do have a lot of mature (and some maturing trees) that break up the site, help provide privacy , shade and a sanctuary for birds and wildlife. Our shower facilities do surprise and impress some of our guests. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, it is much appreciated.

VW-Type Campervan - Non-Electric Grass PitchesJul 2022

Excellent, clean, tidy site and very peaceful, relaxing stay.

Site's response

Thank you for your recommendation, it is much appreciated. Whilst we are a quiet adults only rural site, we are not too far from things to do, see or walk or cycle to. It is nice to relax and unwind when away- just sit and chat, watch the world go by and listen to the birdsong - something we don't often get the opportunity to in the cities or even find time to do when at home - there is always something that needs doing or someone who wants attention. Thank you again.

Medium Tent - Non-Electric Grass PitchesJun 2022

Absolutely loved our stay here, there were 4 of us, staying in two tents with a dog. Our dog is dog reactive and once they'd put us on a pitch, they then went out of the their way to change it for us as we were two close to neighbouring dogs. We were really glad that dog owners were also encouraged to keep dogs on leads. This was a really positive thing for us! We were in a quiet little corner of the site all on our on it was absolute bliss! The toilet block modern and clean, they also have had a really organised recycling station with crates to be able to split recycling down!

Site's response

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and would thank you for leaving us such a nice review. We allow dogs on our touring pitches and in 2/3 of our glamping pods providing they are kept on a lead at all times as not all guests like dogs (some are allergic to them) and not all dogs like other dogs. We do try to give guests a choice of pitch but this is not always possible at busy times. If guests have a preference or a nervous dog it is always great to know in advance so that we take this into account. We do encourage guests to recycle their glass, tins, plastics, paper, cardboard and food waste and as stated provide crates that can be taken to the pitches to facilitate this. Thank you again for your review it is much appreciated.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2022

This was our first stay here and we were very impressed. The site is beautifully maintained and very clean. Jane and Brian were the most wonderful hosts - nothing was too much trouble for them. We had an issue with our van which Brian tried to help with but unfortunately couldn't. He did however recommend somewhere locally we could take it. The views and surrounding area were fantastic. Will definitely be going back.

Site's response

Thank you for leaving such a glowing review - we do appreciate it. We have a mix of maintained areas and natural areas with slightly longer grasses (wildlife corridors) and wild flowers to encourage / support bees and small wild life. We are always available to chat to our guests about the local area has to offer and any issues they may be experiencing / or items they have forgotten. If we cannot help ourselves, we generally know someone who they can talk to or where they can go. We hope to see you again in the future. .

Large Tent - Non-Electric Grass PitchesJun 2022

Beautiful site in a perfect location for us. Jane made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and took time to talk to us when we saw her. The site is very well kept, lovely spacious pitches and good facilities. We were lucky to be offered a great secluded pitch as we were non electric and it felt so private and was perfect for us with our dogs as they could roam around in what was like our own little garden. It is not easy to find sites where we can take all 3 of our dogs but they were so welcome here, it was lovely. We opted to hire a chiminea and logs from the site and this was a fab addition to our stay. The weather was spot on which of course always helps. We walked into Craven Arms during our stay which was wonderful but not an easy walk over the hills and we ached on return - but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as did the pups, more so as we found a cracking little pub called The Stables where we rested, ate and drank for a good while! All in all a fab few days away! Thank you!

Site's response

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We do try to give guests a choice of pitch on arrival, although occasionally this is not possible, so that they can take advantage of the views, sun or shade as appropriate to their individual unit. The site is broken up by trees and wildlife corridors (areas left natural/ not mown) and the pitches quite a generous size, so guests have space and flexibility when pitching up. The walk to Craven Arms takes about an hour direct from site - using quiet country lanes and public footpaths through fields. We are located in the rolling Corvedale Hills, so some people may find this a challenge. Craven Arms has a large independent supermarket, various eateries and shops. There are miles of walking and cycling available including those from The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. We do keep a small supply of chimeneas to lend out to the touring pitches. Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review - it is much appreciated.

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2022

Couldn't ask for a better stay. Having visited twice, we've had amazing service, high level of cleanliness in the facilities and beautiful pitches both times. Would highly recommend this site for anyone looking for a calm and peaceful retreat.

Site's response

We are glad you enjoyed your return visit. Each pitch offers a slightly different view of the rolling Corvedale Hills. Being an adults only site calm, peace and quiet are something that is abundant and guests can really appreciate and enjoy. Whilst we are a rural site we are not too far from some of Shropshire's gems like the historic market town of Ludlow and spectacular scenery and miles of walking and cycling offered by Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd. Thank you for your kind words about the level of service and cleanliness in particular - they are much appreciated.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2022

Owners were very helpful and friendly. Site was very rural but in a picturesque setting, with hills and fields all around. Note that the site slopes, although I found a level pitch for my campervan against the far hedge, great spot. It was not busy when I was there, so very peaceful and relaxing. Great for walking although hills are steep! Good field behind the site where the footpath goes, all enclosed and no livestock so I could let my dog off lead. Did a lovely 2.5mile circular walk. Village is 1.8 miles away, so had to drive there as the walk across the country was too steep and long for me and owners, quite rightly, advised against walking along the road as the traffic was heavy and very fast. All showers and toilets were individual and very clean. Great recycling area, with trays and containers to sort your own recycling. A mini-shop for basics would be helpful, as would a stronger/effective WiFi signal in the evenings (I could only get it during the day).

Site's response

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are a rural site set in the rolling Corvedale Hills and therefore our site is always acknowledged as being gently sloping, however due to our generous pitch sizes guests can position their unit to take this into account and make of the most of the views from their pitch. The hills do provide miles of walking or cycling and can be steep in places (although degree of gradient has different interpretations to different guests). Craven Arms is 1.8 miles away by car along the B4368 (not a road to walk along) which has a 60 mile an hour speed limit in places, some twists with no footpaths or street lights. Using the public footpaths and quiet country lanes, it takes 50 -60 minutes to walk to Craven Arms. One of the reasons we do not have a shop on site as there are too many different types/ choices for even simple food basics like bread and milk to be able to meet the requirements of guests. Also as demand for these items is unpredictable and we would end up having to to freeze unsold items. The majority of guests would prefer to pop into town than have than frozen. Craven Arms does a large independent supermarket with a good / wide range of food and drink. Unfortunately we are not able to access fibre optic broadband and have wireless broad band (which is transmitted via a series of masts). There were issues with the provision of broadband in this area during your stay but believe these have today been sorted out. We would point out that we do provide free broadband to our guests even though we have to pay for it on a monthly basis whether it is used or not. Thank you for your kind comments re our toilet/ shower and recycling facilities - they are much appreciated.. .

Small Tent - Non-Electric Grass PitchesMay 2022

Small, pleasant and conveniently located site. Plenty of great communication prior to arriving and once there. Great location in the Shropshire hills near walking spots and good pubs. Adults only site so nice and quiet, and the facilities were frightfully clean - absolutely spotless. We were on non-power hookup so can't comment on those items.

Site's response

Being an adults only site, we do tend to find that guests leave the bathrooms as they find them (hopefully spotlessly clean). A lot of time and effort goes into maintaining high standards so that guests can relax and enjoy their break. We want our guests to enjoy / explore the beautiful Shropshire Hills and their hidden gems so try to provide guests with some basic information on the area prior to arrival or on arrival as required. We are an ideal base for relaxing, sight seeing, walking, cycling or just mooching round the many quaint market towns. Thank you for leaving a review it is much appreciated.

Trailer Tent - Non-Electric Grass PitchesMay 2022

Beautiful site, greeted by the lovely welcoming owner who showed us round, beautifully tended to pitches in a lovely area. Modern and clean toilet and shower block facilities, we had a lovely night stay here and will definitely come back for further stays in the future.

Site's response

The rolling Corvedale Hills provide a gorgeous "living" backdrop to the site. The site itself has many mature trees and hedges that provide shade, privacy and homes to a variety of wildlife and birds. Whilst we are a rural site, we are less than 2 miles from Craven Arms and are midway between the market towns of Ludlow and Church Stretton. There is plenty to see, do, discover and explore in the area. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and are already thinking of a return visit. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, it is much appreciated.
