About the site

Providing an idyllic stop off in quiet Shropshire countryside, this traditional and family run farm is home to eight hardstanding touring pitches. First established by their grandparents, the family have been Frodesley farmers for more than 120 years. Stop off to admire the dark skies here and finish the day sitting under the stars from your pitch. The touring pitches cater to campervans, caravans and motorhomes. Each provides plenty of space, measuring 7m x 5m with 16 amp electric. A well behaved dog is welcome, provided they are kept on a lead.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesJun 2025

Booked for a one night stay between visits to NT properties. Two days before arrival we had pinpoint directions (better than the sat nav route) complete with our pitch number via email. Drove on and set up on an almost perfectly level Hardstanding pitch with hook up conveniently located. Subsequently greeted by the owner with friendly conversation and pointing out of facilities. A very quiet peaceful night, with plenty of birdsong to greet us in the morning.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesApr 2025

Booked a last minute over night stay as husband fancied a few hours fishing and another site stated they charged. There was no written mention of this on booking but when we arrived, it was an extra £8.50 which seemed steep for 3 hours. That said he paid and enjoyed it, had we known, we may have gone elsewhere. Shower was serviceable for what we needed and purchased eggs on site, nice owners, quiet at night, walks around but we didn't get time to explore. Site price was good without the additional charges.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesMar 2025

A really nice location with an excellent welcome from our hosts. A very pleasant situation with pleasant walking and not far from main attractions. A little more attention to the upkeep of the shower block is needed, it would help for there to be warm water in the shower! Apart from that, a very handy and pleasant site.

Site's response

Hi, Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I am so sorry the water wasn't warm in the shower, we were not aware that there was a problem with the heat but I will investigate this further. Many Thanks Clare
