Sightseers who are keen to take in superb panoramic views of Surrey won’t be disappointed with a trip to Box Hill- as featured in the Jane Austen novel, Emma.
Alternatively climb the tower at Leith Hill to reach south-east England’s highest point. Both Hill is within the beautiful Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty so visitors can be assured of splendid surroundings during their explorations.
In addition to the Surrey Hills AONB there are several other attractions which are sure to entice nature lovers, such as the RHS Garden Wisley and the restored 18th century landscape garden Painshill.
Visitors eager to explore grand architecture are spoilt for choice in Surrey. Hampton Court Palace is a striking building that was the favourite palace of King Henry VIII. In addition to taking in the stunning architecture, you can also meander through the oldest hedge maze in the UK and stroll through the splendid palace gardens.
Painful to miss, also, would be pretty Savill Garden, Englefield Green Woodland Garden, Kew Gardens and the lovely Hatchlands Park. Richmond Park with its wild deer is also popular as is the peaceful Virginia Water Lake in Windsor Great Park.

Horse riding is a fun way to combine a love of animals with a love of the outdoors, while Surrey’s rivers, canals and lakes facilitate an excellent range of water-based activities to participate in, from wild swimming to rowing, sailing, kayaking and boat trips.
