Grass pitches

Etherley Farm is a back to basics site located at the foot of Leith Hill in the stunning Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans are all welcome on the site's 50 non electric grass unallocated pitches, which are all spread across the two camping fields. Enjoy being surrounded by National Trust woodland, trying the farm's own produce from their shop, and getting cosy around a campfire at night.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2023

We stayed at Etherley Park for 2 nights in our newly converted camper. Great site on the farm with recently refurbed facilities and a great little shop selling local produce. We stayed as a family of 5 and we really enjoyed our stay and took a walk to Leith Hill Tower on one of the days. Will certainly return again for a longer stay, likely this year. We were advised to park on the side of the main field which has hardstanding ground below the grass. The weather was absolutely terrible and we did get stuck in the grass. It wasn't 5 mins before we were towed out with the tractor by the nice farmer. The kids loved it and added to the adventure. Highly recommended and already looking forward to coming again. Location is also worth noting, We live in Hampshire and would normally travel away for a camping trip. This place was less than an hour's drive and it felt like we were miles away. Next time I ride my mountain bike at Peaslake, Leith Hill or any of that Surrey Hills area, I will book a night here and get 2 days riding the local hills. Great site and will be returning again. Good enough for me to take the time to leave this review :)

Lovely spot well out of the city :)

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2023

My friend and I had a great stay at Etherley! Very well looked after campsite with friendly staff and fellow campers. The hikes around Leith Hill were a definite bonus and the stargazing was gorgeous this far out of the city. My only heads up to other campers would be to make sure you know how you're getting home as we had a bit of an adventure on our way back. We look forward to coming back again soon!

Fantastic site!

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

We have just returned from a 3 night stay here. It is a lovely "laid back" site - so nice to have open fields and just be allowed to choose where to pitch your tent. Produce shop was well stocked and nice to buy cold alcohol as well as tasty meat! Toilets and showers spotlessly clean. We will be back.

Beautiful campsite in a farm setting

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2023

Beautiful campsite in a lovely location. Very secluded, no road noise, just the sound of the farm and the wildlife. Easy access to walking trails direct from the campsite with the National Trust produced map and leaflet of the Leith Hill Estate to guide you. Facilities were excellent, probably the best showers in any campsite I've been to. Nicely stocked farm shop on site, although would have been nice to have had a few more vegetarian options. Stayed for two nights and I had everything I needed could have happily stayed longer. I'll be heading back again soon. Thank you to everyone involved.

We had a lovely time here. Mid week, it is very quiet and we had a peaceful stay. The surrounding woods are beautiful, would recommend a walk. Great produce in the farm shop made for an excellent breakfast too! Staff all very friendly and relaxed.

My short stay.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2023

The site was peaceful and, going into the peak season, there were not too many campers. As a keen walker, there were lots of footpaths and good walks in the area. The farm shop was handy. I would have liked a warning about the squirrels which chewed through my cool box and a pint of milk left unattended during a trip to the WC's. Plugs in the sinks would have been useful but I can see why they were not supplied. Plentiful, piping hot water.

Very convenient, nice facilities

A great spot. Sorry I couldn't stay longer. The sign to Etherley farm is not very visible from the main road and my satnav was a little confused, but I got directions from a nearby butcher. . The site on a green field was very pleasant. Ablutions were clean, well kept and functioned well. I thoroughly enjoyed my walks in the area, and would recommend Etherley farm to anyone looking to camp in this part of England.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2023

Very good campsite in a field, has an excellent farm shop and reasonable toilet and shower facilities. The only let down, and hence the 2 4 stars, was because when we arrived, there were possibly 50 or so teenagers camped in the adjoining field on a school trip. This made using the shared toilet/shower facilities a bit off putting for this particular elderly couple. The second day was so much better once the school had gone. I would return if I'm that way again but I'd ask first about school trips!

Lovely working farm site with The Parrot pub being only a short walk away. Lovely pub with great food. The farm shop sells mostly their own products and got some delicious chicken burgers.

A great, well-run campsite with plenty of space and very clean facilities. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. We used it during a hike along the Greensand Way and had a restful night. A campfire in the evening was the perfect end to the day.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2023

Etherley Farm is in a stunning location within the area of Leith Hill in Dorking. It was a good location for us to visit Chessington and Thorpe Park and still have the rural camping experience. The toilet block was clean and the showers and taps always had hot water. We were unfortunate to hit a spot of bad weather on our visit and as we arrived on a bank holiday. There was not much guidance on where to pitch. We were told by a family leaving not to pitch near the toilet block as the barn adjacent contained a lot of animals, that, although it is as you would expect on a farm and provided some country sounds, made a lot of noise all night. On this advice, we pitched across the other side of the field. Big mistake. It rained all night and we awoke to be surrounded by mud. Very thick mud - the kind that takes your shoe off as you walk. The field is on an incline too and we were down the wrong end. This, coupled with strong winds that took our porch down, led us to cut our trip short by a night and checking into a motel. Although the campsite could not control the weather, we wished we were advised on where to pitch for a better location. There was only four tents there when we camped and the animals were noisy all night. If the weather was better and you can sleep through a bit of natural sound, this is a lovely site. I only nipped in the farm shop to say we were leaving early, but I was impressed with the produce and selection available.
