Mid-week break
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 Perfect location for Thorpe Park and the South Coast. It was very quiet for our stay as we arrived just after bank holiday weekend. Very clean shower and toilet facilities.
The site is well maintained and situated in stunning, peaceful countryside. I had two happy teenagers and an extremely happy little dog on the journey home. Thank you.
Friendly campsite
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 The owners were extremely friendly and very accommodating. The electric was intermittent but they did everything to help rectify it.
The site was well maintained but could have done with a few more showers and washing up sinks. However, this was indicated by the owner when we arrived so we worked round it by going at the less busier times.
Great little find
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 A lively little campsite in Sussex. The facilities were very clean and I observed them being cleaned regularly. Lovely friendly staff and fellow campers.
The only thing I would say is the pitches were quite small and the tents were tight closely packed but it was a very lively atmosphere.
Lovely stay
Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 The location is easily accessible by public transport, even without a car. There are lots of lovely trails around the campsite, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
However, the toilet and shower facilities can be improved, especially since the showers and toilets are in the same room, and the floor is almost always dirty. Since you don't get your own pitch but rather a designated area in a big pitch - you can be quite close to your neighbour campers and they can still be up quite late, and sometimes loud. It would be great if there was some sort of quite hour rule.
All in all, it was a nice experience.
Bank holiday weekend
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 Lovely little basic campsite, all staff are friendly and super helpful.
Only downside, could do with having a couple more washing up stations and a larger shower/ toilet block. I liked that they had a communal fridge, freezer and washing machine.
I would definitely recommend Sussex Topiary for quiet weekend getaway.

Quiet campsite in scenic setting
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 Lovely, open campsite in a beautiful area, with good flat grass pitches and plenty of space. There's a pizza van on Friday evenings which is delicious.
The pitches are informal and generous in size and there are good washing up, laundry and shower/toilet facilities, although only 2 showers for whole site (2 female/2 male) which could get tricky. It wasn't too busy, so this wasn't a problem for us.
It was very quiet at night, no road noise or rowdy campers!

Shocking stay, so noisy Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 On the 1st night, the noise level was loud until 3am with the loudest hand driers going off all night keeping everyone awake. On the 2nd night, a low loader came to offload a campervan at 4am, they were having a great chat whilst they were doing it as well.
There are only 2 female showers for the entire camp site, one of which kept breaking, and only 2 proper toilets.
To be fair, the toilets and showers were kept clean, the location is good and the site pleasant, but seriously let down by the lack of facilities. I won't be rushing back or recommending it.
Wonderful 2 night decompression
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 We were looking for something simple and relatively close by to test camping trips with our Romanian rescue dog. It did not disappoint and he wasn't as nervous as anticipated. Anyone who's rescued a pup from there will understand.
The site was well kept, the owners greeted us on arrival and showed us where we could pitch our tent and informed us about local attractions.
Needless to say, we'll be back. Hopefully by then the council will have done the right thing and allowed them to build newer facilities.
Needs improvement Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Nice people and they did mention facilities are due to be updated but not enough at the moment, even temporarily. No toilet roll most of the time.
Electric also kept cutting out but was trying to fix it. Okay site.
