Lovely campsite

I stayed here for 4 nights in the second week in September. The site was tidy and very nice. I had electric hook up and was allocated a pitch. You can pitch anywhere if you're not in need of electric and the site has some lovely wooded areas that looked great. Very good location for visiting Bewl Water, Bayham Abbey and Scotney Castle. The A21 runs next to the site and is a very busy road and can be noisy, but this did not bother me. The toilets and showers were very clean and the staff at reception were very helpful and nice. All in all, I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again.

Non-electric pitch camping

Overall, the campsite was clean and tidy, with reasonable facilities. The main area for the non-electric pitches is quite near a main A road, so there can be quite a bit of road noise, even during the early hours of the morning. The shower cubicles are also quite small, so it can be difficult to properly clean yourself. Apart from these small inconveniences, the campsite is good, with a large area to pitch tents in. Being able to have an open fire/BBQ is a big bonus and really helps to round off the camping experience. Check-in was quick and easy, we were in and out within a few minutes. There is also a few items for sale in the reception area, incase you are missing a few of the essentials.

If it weren't for the road noise

Great place and was very surprised they allow for ground open fires. I had my box grill with me, so I used it for cooking and as a fire pit. Lovely meadow with trees and open spaces, a playground for the kids, good facilities, hot water. If it weren't for the road noise this would have gotten a higher rating from me. I loved the fact that there were no strict rules, just common sense.

Reflects owners interest in keeping it clean and looked after

It's a nice site, clean and looked after by their owners. Bins are collected and toilets are cleaned daily. Can you leave all the cleaning to the owners? No, you shouldn't. The two faults I saw were because people can be careless. Should people expect someone else to clean after themselves, just because they paid to use the field? Should people clean their small leftovers from the sinks provided after doing their washing up? Yes, they should. It doesn't matter that the sinks are cleaned daily, if the first person that comes to use them after they have been cleaned, leaves them dirty. We all need to be aware that we need help to keep the all campsites clean for everyone. Would I recommend it? Yes!

Fantastic and clean

Excellent stay here. Showers and toilets clean. Lovely friendly people. Would recommend to others and would come back. Only thing to suggest would be that more could be sold in the shop, as nowhere near if you run out of anything.

Excellent campsite

Location was beautiful and very clean, it's by a major road but if you stay away from the road, the traffic noise is not a bother. Generally a very quiet atmosphere and plenty of room to spread out. Enjoyed the fact you were allowed to camp anywhere you pleased 😃

Reasonable stay

Paid £20 per night for tent pitch with car for 2 people. Decent field next to A21 (busy all night). Not very busy so had choice of position away from road. Staff very helpful. It rained in the evening and again in the morning but didn't spoil things too much. Close to Bewl Water and good pub at Flimwell. Would use it again.

Grab your tent and sit around the campfire at T&J's Campsite

We have had a brilliant weekend at T&J's Campsite. The site is well kept and pitches are spaced out well. We decided to have a weekend break away from London that was still convenient for London and to local attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The site is clean and well-kept. The staff recommended a great pub (2 minute drive/20 minute walk away) The Royal Oak,London Rd, Flimwell, Wadhurst TN5 7PJ (dog Friendly). But what made the site outstanding for us was that we can have a real campfire on the floor, without the need to have a firepit. We sat around our fire listening to music (allowed at a reasonable volume and up till 2200hrs). Logs were available from the camp reception. The staff opened it up to sell us wood and we went outside of the reception opening hours. The logs and kindling cost us only 7 GBP. This was enough wood for the 2-night stay. The site is very peaceful and you don't notice the A21 that runs outside of the campsite. The is a lot to do in the area and the campsite is right in the middle of them all. We are now back to work, but feeling very relaxed after our weekend at T&J's Campsite.

Weekend family break

This site was too noisy for us, we went for a weekend break. Situated on the A21, traffic didn't die down until 2am then started to build up again from 6am. It was cheap and convenient but not a site we'll use again. Facilities clean but we felt they were dated. Good play area for the kids though.

We clean the facilities twice a day and charge a reasonable rate for what we provide, we don't feel your star rating reflects what's written in your review. The road noise is, unfortunately, out of our control but is made obvious on our listing and is obvious on a map. This site is convenient to access local places, but may not be as peacefully rural as perhaps you were looking for. We hope you enjoy future camping trips.

My first time camping I can honestly say it was the best experience, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The site itself is very spacious and extremely clean. I will definitely be returning.

Camping holiday

Nice site. I was delayed due to an accident on the A21, but I phoned and let them know and there was no problem checking in. There were also road closures during my stay right outside the site. Again nothing to do with the site. Note, showers are a bit low and a tight squeeze for me being over 6ft tall, but they are very hot and clean.

Very clean and tidy.

Very clean and tidy. The kids had great fun as so did me and my wife. We will definatly return again in near future. Log style speed bumps are pretty aggressive and not ideal for lowered vehicles.

Great campite with clean facilities

It was great opportunity to bring some friends together at this campsite. The only thing we didn't like is that the campsite is very close to the A21 and the road is very busy at night time as well. It is a great campsite for a few nights but wouldn't recommend to spend a one week holiday to stay all day at the campsite to have a bit of peace. It is good if you want to go for trips during the day. Facilities were clean, children can play at the playground at the site. There are only bushes between the campsite and the A21, so if you are not lucky, they have a tent space a bit further from the bushes. You need to keep an eye on the children to make sure they don't escape to the busy road.

Great little break

First time at this site. Good size field with lots of room with plenty of tree cover when it was very sunny. Lots of rubbish bins spread around site and good toilet and shower facilities. There was also a good playground for children. The wood prices are reasonable and there was a good reception and nice staff. The A21 is noisy all day and night, didn't stop anyone sleeping but would be nicer if it wasn't there (obviously nothing that can be done). The grass was cut but cuttings not collected so the dry grass ended up everywhere ( a minor point). We could also hear loud music both nights until about midnight, not sure where from and not convinced it was from the site.

Loved it - clean and spacious site

Lots of space, shady under the trees or out in the sun. Quiet & considerate campers. Immaculate facilities. Easy walking access to Bewl Water. There was some road noise from the A21 but we knew to expect that because the site is literally a turning off the main road. It didn't really bother us when we got used to it. If guests complain about it, they aren't checking a map before they book or reading it properly.

Friends getaway

This was the third time my husband and I had stayed at this site. We meet up with friends here at least once a year. This site is great for just relaxing around a campfire although for the more energetic people there are great walks and cycling routes. The toilet and shower blocks are ok, when the showers work! They tend to run on cold water or no water if you time it wrong. When the showers are working, they are good.

Amazing

Always have an amazing time here! Kids have fun running around in the woods and in the park. Always accommodating and helpful. Amenities are cleaned regularly. We always return each year it's a lovely friendly place to be.
