VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Hardstanding Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

10/10 and we cannot wait to go back! The site owner could not do enough for us! Everything was to an impeccable standard and despite the very windy weather, we had a gorgeous time. Everything is well within reasonable walking distance and if you have trouble walking or a very lazy bulldog (like us) then the driving and parking is easy enough around there too. Shower and toilets were very clean, shower block at top of the hill and toilets located at bottom and top of the hill. Drinking water for each pitch is brilliant too. Hardstanding pitches come with picnic table too. 🙂 Couldn't recommend this place more! Things to do there: Church Bay Beach, Watercrest café , Church Bay Inn, South Stack Lighthouse 😁

Brilliant stay

VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Hardstanding Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

We stayed at Ty Cochyn Campsite for a four night stay in August, the set up is lovely. Gary is absolutely great, so accommodating and goes out of his way to make sure the guest on site are well looked after. Showers and toilets were kept very clean. Loved the enclosed field they have for the dogs to be able to run around. Would definitely recommend, wouldn't hesitate booking to stay here again if we venture to north Wales again in the future. Thank you Gary.

Great site and 1st class host

Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Firstly, the site. Ty Cochyn is a developing site but is so well thought out, so peaceful. and well equipped. Every pitch has electric and water points, along with an outside light and a picnic bench. Most of the pitches have hard pitches and grass to cater for all combinations of car, tent and caravan. The shower/toilet blocks are modern and spotless, and there is a large enclosed dog walking field. The location is perfect for access to the coastal path, with stunning walks a little over a mile away, and Church Bay with its pub, restaurant and excellent café 15 to 20 mins walk. I want to pay mention to our host Gary. He met us on the first day to give us a guide to the local area and places to visit and also to warn us of the pending storm. We arrived with our tent to the back end of Storm Lillian. Gary offered us refuge in his motorhome parked on site if things got too scary and also checked in on us twice throughout the night, including 5am at the height of the 80mph winds. We didn't need the motorhome, but it was close and can't thank Gary enough for his kindness. You can tell Ty Cochyn is more than a business and it will go from strength to strength with Gary's plans for the site. We will be back soon.

Great location and facilities with great views, we had an amazing three nights. Gary (Owner) met us on arrival, made us welcome, giving us tips on the area and walks, advising of his future plans which look amazing. He was always about to help and advise. I'd like to say thanks for making our stay enjoyable.

Work in progress site. You can clearly see Gary the owner's hard work and planning has gone into the site. Plenty of great pitches, more to follow. Perfect location, amazing views, really peaceful. 20min to the beach and pub, what's not to love 😁

Still slightly work in progress on the site, but we had a lovely stay. Gary is the most helpful host. He honestly would do anything to make your stay a happy one. The pub is a short walk and the beach just a bit further on but both well worth the walk. Hope to return

Absolutely perfect place to stay. Garry was the most fantastic host - gave us ideas where to go and what to do. The campsite was absolutely spotless, including the shower block. We went with a roof tent and had no issues. We will certainly be back.

Large Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Just returned from a fantastic break in a stunning location. The site is brand new and still being built but it's already fantastic. The showers and toilet block are ultra-modern and exceptionally clean, Gary, the owner, is a great guy who makes sure you get the best out of your stay, the stunning church bay is a literal 5 minutes drive or 40 minutes walk away so is great to visit, as are Holyhead and South Stack, which are all within easy reach. All in all, we loved our stay here and can't wait to visit again soon.

VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Hardstanding Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Quiet setting with beautiful sea views - a bit blustery at times but we were able to chose our spot and even move to other plots during our stay. Excellent facilities - brand new and clean. Loved being able to walk to the pub - and beach, although could be a bit far for some. Our spaniel loved his morning run round the dog field. Local pub was great but doesn't serve food - amazing food at the Lobster Pot but more for special occasions. Super-friendly and helpful owner.

Single Axle Caravan - Hardstanding Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Great site away from the hustle and bustle. Good location to use as a base or to just sit and relax. Amazing views, can get windy on the upper plots so watch the weather, however plenty of protected plots to choose from. Gary (owner) can’t do enough to make sure your stay is what you are looking for.

A great campsite

VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Hardstanding Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Gary made us very welcome at Ty Cochyn, which is obviously a labour of love for him. The facilities are good and each pitch has its own hook up, water point and table, and most have great views. There is some fabulous cycling and walking in the area and Gary is very knowledgeable about local rides and walks. Lovely Church Bay is a 30/5 minute walk/car journey away and the quirky Church Bay pub is 20 minutes walk. If you want peace and quiet then this is the place you.

Large Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Having never been to Anglesey before, this was the perfect location to explore the whole island, Holyhead only 20 mins away for any big supermarkets etc. The campsite itself has amazing 360 views, everything well spaced out and having fresh drinking water on every pitch is such a great feature. I've stayed on countless campsites and I have never been to one with cleaner toilets/showers or a more friendly owner. Gary was very welcoming and helpful, offering solid advice for first timers to get the most from our trip. Stunning beaches nearby, lots to explore and sunsets that belong on a postcard. Perfectly placed campsite, Gary is building something very special here.

First stay - will be back!

Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this relatively new site but Garry the owner has big plans a foot for the future! Gary jumped to my aid when setting up my tent on my own in force gales and I was very appreciative! Lovely site and very peaceful which was just what I was looking for. 30 minute walk to Church bay a hidden gem (with a pub en route!) I will definitely be back to this campsite really enjoyed my stay and perfect for dogs with an ideal dog field as you enter, perfect for for them to let off some steam and stretch their legs! Thank you :)

Perfect place to stay for peace and quiet.

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Campervan Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Arrived and was greeted by Gary the owner who gave us free reign to pitch where we liked on his large and well laid out site. Facilities and hook up was first class. Gary has obviously put a lot of thought, time and effort into making this a really special site for adults and dogs. He went out of his way to share his knowledge of the area and to point out the local places to visit and eat at. Lent us a book of walks in the area to take in the superb scenery surrounding this site. While it is still under construction, everything you need is available, even down to your own picnic table and bench at each pitch. Will definitely be going back and would highly recommend to anyone looking for peace and quiet in perfect surroundings.

Large Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

We had truly wonderful time. The campsite is very quiet with pleasant views. The toilet block is new, very clean and very modern which is rare at campsites. Gary, the owner, is a great chap, very helpful and understanding. We have two a bit crazy dogs that get a bit too excited about people. He offered us our very own field to stay in so the dogs could roam free there without disturbing others. We are very grateful for his attitude and hospitality. We definitely will be returning next year.

What a fabulous place. The facilities were impeccable, the location was quiet, the staff were friendly and helpful. Close drive to the beach, shops and other places to visit. Will definitely be back! Electric and Wifi available at an added cost, which was extremely useful.

Single Axle Caravan - Grass and Hardstanding Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

My husband and I had a lovely time at this site. We used it as a base to explore the beautiful coastal regions of Angelsey. The site was relatively new and quiet while we were there. There was a nice, newly built, clean shower block with toilets and also separate toilets half way down the site. We had gorgeous views of the sea and on the last night a dramatic display of lightening across the sea sky. Gary the owner was very helpful and gave us a booklet of various walks on Angelsey, which we did some of them. He gave us lots of advice on some of the best places to visit also. He was extremely friendly and checked in on us every day to make sure we were doing okay. We stayed 7 nights but only scratched the surface of places to see. We certainly will visit again.

Motorhome site that is perfect

This site is the cleanest site we have visited and we have been to a lot! Gary has it absolutely spot on, the layout, location and everything is perfect, he even gave us a lift to the beach. Top bloke and a place well worth a visit. 👍👍👍👍

Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

We arrived late 20:50 in foul weather and Gary met us at the entrance and showed us where to pitch, even offered us a cuppa. He is a really nice genuine guy and will give as much help as you need. The site is peaceful and very well kept. Electric is reliable, toilets &and showers are immaculate. Also great effort (and likely expense) has been made to make the site wildlife friendly. We had a very pleasant couple of days and nights. It was nice to be able to have a fire pit. All in all, a great place to get away from it. Highly recommend, we will be returning.

Cracking campsite, upon return home we have booked again. Also, our dog thoroughly enjoyed the dog running field, he said it was pawsome!

Motorhome - Grass and Hardstanding Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2024

From the moment we arrived, we could see this was special. We parked up in our spacious hard standing pitch with a beautiful view of the Bay and Holyhead on one side and the picturesque rolling hills surrounding us all the rest of the way around. This is a new site and is pristine. The shower and toilet block couldn't be cleaner and there are separate toilets at the other end. There is also a chemical WC waste disposal and big sink for cleaning your dishes. Everything you need is supplied. Gary, the site owner, is one of the most helpful people we've ever met and can't do enough for you. We forgot our kettle and he immediately went and got us one! We had some really entertaining and educational chats with him and his lovely wife Christine. The stay was so peaceful and Gary showed us several wonderful walks. Absolutely recommend this beautiful site. We will be back.

Lovely quiet location.

Excellent facilities. Easy to get to. Christine and Gary were friendly and helpful and most welcoming. A few things needed to be completed - somewhere for recycling and grey waste. Very dog-friendly. Great exercise paddock for dogs. Lovely Church Bay an easy walk away. Wavecrest Café on the waterfront served delicious snacks.

Small Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2024

The site is remote, so good for dark skies and wildlife, but just a mile from a good pub and a little more to a pleasant cove with cafe, restaurant and parking. For coast path walkers the Amlwch - Bangor bus service stops two or three times a day at the nearest village which is about half-a-mile away. The toilets and showers are the best I've seen outside a top-end marina and each pitch has both hard-stand and a grass area with electricity and water. It's a new site so looks a little raw but scores of saplings have been planted and will provide continuing visual improvement. Bins are needed to sort and re-cycle waste in a dedicated area - a single general refuse bin by the gate doesn't do it - and the construction equipment stored at one side is an eyesore and needs to be shifted which is the only reason I've knocked off a star for facilities and cleanliness. Otherwise, excellent. There's no owner presence on site but the owner did come past twice in the four days I was there to ask every occupier if things were OK.

Peaceful and relaxing

Ty Cochan is set in a peaceful part of north Anglesey. Its a fairly new site which is just getting established. When we arrived we had to ring Gary as there is no reception/office on site. He came up to meet us and gave us a very warm welcome. The site is set on a hill and is terraced. The pitches are a good size and flat, all have water and EHU available. We chose a pitch at the top, close to the wash block. Wash block facilities are really good, spacious and clean. Did a lovely circular walk from the site, down to Church Bay and then along the coastal path.

Great place, fantastic service.

Small Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2024

This is a small and quiet campsite for adults only. Amazing views and all newly built. The owner, Gary, is a great guy with an incredibly positive attitude and helpful beyond the expected. If you are backpacking like we were, he really tries to make life easier for you, he knows it's trickier for us to move about and get what we need. If I find myself in the area again, I'm definitely coming back!
