Set in 650 acres of a nature reserve, Hafod Hall is a family-run campsite on the edge of Snowdonia. Set up your tent within the spacious fields or get back to nature on the wild camping field. You can add extra comfort with an idyllic Wild Cabin built into the trees. Campfires and dogs are welcome. With no mobile signal, it's the ideal spot to disconnect.

Last minute booking made super easy, we only had one night there but were made to feel super welcome. The wild pitches are not your usual camping site but nestled between trees and rocks on a steepish hill. That means you’re pretty much guaranteed some privacy and places for children to explore. We had a great time there and my daughter says it’s the “best campsite ever”. We were there on a long planned and repeatedly weather delayed “daddy and daughter adventure” in Snowdonia and it set the tone perfectly - feel really lucky to have found it!

Five stars. Amazing views of Snowdonia national park, especially at sunset. All the campsite people were super chill and friendly. Will definitely recommend to people visiting North Wales.

We only stayed 1 night to test a new tent but the setting and pitches were ideal. Will definitely be returning later on in the year.

A gem for a few nights camping without the hassle of a tent! A literal hut and epic fire pit. The location was right on the bike trails for the reservoir and was epic. The rest speaks for itself, basic and rustic with a price to match, and the amazing sun set was a freebie!

This was everything we expected! We were all very happy with the cabin and made it feel cosy quickly. You do need to bring everything with you, as it says it's empty inside, but parking is close and it's no bother transferring stuff if there's a few of you. It's a very peaceful area, the veranda gives a nice view of the sun going down behind the trees and it's really dark at night! Perfect get away from the internet as there's no signal. The facilities are ideal and close by. Felt like a really good balance between being in the wild but having the basics close by, which was good with an 11 & 13 year old with me! The owners were very helpful when we arrived and sorted out our firewood for the night. One suggestion I have is for more hooks inside the cabin for hanging stuff, but that didn't detract from the experience. Definitely recommend if this is your thing!

Stayed for 2 nights with 10 people - owners were lovely, facilities were very clean and the shower was a god send. It is on the very remote side of camping with no phone signal but it was really nice to be away from the phone for 2 nights. The area is amazing for star watching too! Would love to come back in the near future.

It was rural and wild and the hosts couldn't do enough to help after a tricky night of rain. They offered to tumble dry stuff for us.

Hafod Hall is in a very pretty remote setting among fields of grazing sheep. It takes about 15-20 minutes to reach the next town and the facilities are rudimentary so would recommend for adults/couples rather than families. The hosts are extremely helpful and friendly.

Read the reviews before booking so had a rough idea what to expect. Was a great stay and is the closest you can get to wild camping with shower and toilets. The views were great and lots of area to explore. Site owners were so friendly and helpful. As there's no way to get your car to the pitches and it's a bit of a hilly walk, they use quads to bring your camping gear to you. Would definitely stay again.

The campsite was perfect for us, offering a wild camping experience, along with the security of a campsite. The staff were very accommodating, helping us find a pitch and move our gear. Sam, on site, went well out of his way to support when my brother had a fall! Just real quality, down to earth people, who want to make sure you enjoy your stay!

Friendly campsite with helpful staff & beautiful views. No mobile reception which is part of the charm. Nice wild camping style so plenty of space, firepits ready-made to use with firewood available to buy. Was a good base for us to do Snowdon. Thanks Hafod Hall.

This is a wild cabin, you will need your own bed/sleep mat. We loved it as it felt like we were alone in the woods. It was quiet, we had a campfire, it was perfect for our needs.

We felt it was very expensive for a one night stay in our VW campervan with two small dogs with no hook and no real hard standing for a van. We actually ended up sleeping in the "car park" (a flat grassed area) which was ok as luckily there were no other guests. Staff were friendly and happy. After setting up camp, we did try a few times to get out walking / hiking and although the area is surrounded by rolling barren hills and farmers fields, plus a lake in the distance, we gave up, due to no footpath directions. We couldn't figure a way to get to the large lake a couple of miles away and couldn't find any "forest walks". Might be a case of us getting confused, but we hike a lot and are used to signed pathways, especially on farmers land! This would probably be a great site for group camping as its very rustic and you're allowed camp fires and pitch your tent practically anywhere, although its not easy to find a flat area away from the actual house. If you want peace and quiet, great rural rolling scenery, no pub to pop into after walking and a feel of wild camping, this is the place for you.

Fantastic location for wild camping and firewood available at the site. Unfortunately, while we were there the toilet block was out of action.

Always nice to find a site that encourages a campfire. I would recommend this site for anyone wanting a quiet stay with views of the Welsh mountains. However, I wouldn't recommend the site for people that are disabled or require their car to be next to their tent as you have to walk up a short but steep hill to reach the camping area. Despite that I would recommend and return to this campsite!

Sam is by far one of the friendliest people we have ever met and what a great host. The accommodation is perfectly out of the way, right in the middle of nature. It's not often you get to sleep in a what is basically a tree house for a fraction of the price of some park chains. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.
