Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2023

The Hide is one of the best campsites we've ever booked. It is in the most spectacular setting, with an unbelievable view of the ocean. The owners have laid it out superbly, with so much care and attention that there is nothing to fault. Each pitch is spaced out and has it's own little fire pit/BBQ and picnic bench. There is plenty of space to play badminton, have a kick around or play swing ball - all provided by the owners for the guests to enjoy. The site is lovely and quiet and you can hear birdsong all day long. The owners have built a bird hide in front of their bird feeders, so you can also enjoy the feeding frenzy during daylight hours. Showers are hot, compost loos are clean and the washing up area is undercover. It only takes 10 minutes to walk down to the lovely little bay, which is the perfect spot for an early morning dip or late afternoon swim. Whilst we had quiet a bit of rain during our stay, the evenings were sunny, so the stroll and swim in the bay was the perfect way to end each day before heading back to the site for a hot shower and a BBQ. We can't recommend this site enough and will be back for sure. Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful campsite.

We just had the most perfect 2 week holiday camping at the Hide as a family of 4! It is a beautiful, peaceful, nature-filled spot. There are 3 adjoining fields interspersed with woods and hedges - one for glamping in bell tents, one for camping and one for campervans. We opted for one of the 'deluxe' pitches, which gave us our own incredibly useful and cosy open wooden shelter for cooking and food storage, together with a lovely, hot gas-fired shower and our own compost loo in a small wooden hut. Loads and loads of space in each and every pitch - also including a picnic table and fire pit which we used every night for marshmallows and grilling. For guests who choose not to go for a deluxe pitch, there are still compost loos and showers easily reached within 50 meters. Every evening we heard a tawny owl pair calling (shrieking!) to each other and we all spent some calm time bird watching in the Hide itself. The wildlife pond is a lovely place to sit and watch nature. We sat on the bench overlooking the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast (you are only a field away from the cliffs) most nights to watch the sunsets. The skies are incredibly dark with the Milky Way coming out on clear nights, there's almost no sound - it's bliss. We all felt completely relaxed. Loads and loads to do nearby - we explored the coastal path from the campsite in both directions, most of the nearby beaches (they are all incredible), paddleboarded on Traeth Llyfn, surfed in Aber Mawr, coasteering in Abercastle, foraged in St. David's, fished for mackerel and pollock off St Justinian, took the boat trip out to Skomer island, watched seals, seal pups and porpoise off Strumble Head, ran round Dinas Island, had fish and chips in Porthgain (twice), went to the Fishguard Aberjazz festival and drank a lot of flavoured Morfa milk from the 24 hour milk vending machine in a barn by the side of the Fishguard-Newport road a couple of mins away. Tops tips - local beaches Aber Bach (10 mins walk) and Pwll Gwylog (25 min walk) are both unbeatable at low tide with a calm sea. Thank you Jemma and Geraint for all your kind attention whilst we were there and for creating such a perfect 'green' campsite - clearly a lot of hard work and love has gone into making it. We will be coming back!

Brilliant campsite with excellent facilities

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2023

The owners are very friendly and helpful. There was a storm coming in and they set us up in most sheltered patch possible. Toilets really clean, showers hot, clean and really good quality. Beautiful views and close to beach and it was nice to have a private picnic table and firepit. There was also no light pollution. Great campsite with lots of space and not many other pitches.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan PitchesAug 2023

Great view of the sea from our pitch. Loved that we had a fire pit (toasted marshmallows) and picnic table. Facilities are rudimentary but the ethos is great. Good instructions for the compost loos and showers. Would have liked hot water for washing up. Lovely walk down to the beach. Quick response to questions. Overall a quiet, getting away from it site, with a great view.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Ensuite)Aug 2023

My partner and I stayed here for one week over our summer holidays and we had the best time. We opted for the private shower, kitchenette and toilet and it made a massive difference - definitely opt for that if you can! Was wonderful having our own sheltered space to cook and hang out. Toilets were cleaned regulalry and the shower pressure was HEAVENLY. The water felt so smooth (i dont know how or why, but it was so glorious). The location is wonderful - overlooking the cliffedges to the sea. We went on a few daily runs (annoyingly wholesome of us) and it was lush. Was such a relaxing holiday. The pitches are spread out enough that you don't really hear anyone else nearby and it's very quiet in the evening. Just perfect. Best camping experience we have ever had. We will be back. Thanks so much guys!

Beautifully kept campsite in a beautiful part of Wales!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesJul 2023

We had a fantastic time admiring the beautiful sea views from The Hide and visiting the surrounding area. We stayed in the standard camping area which was spacious and very well kept, our friends stayed in the glamping field and it was very luxurious, great kitchen/shower facilities - both options perfect. While we were there we saw amazing wildlife and historical sites nearby, a lovely little cove about 8 mins walk perfect for morning swimming - genuinely one of the best campsites we have ever stayed in - thank you so much!

We have just returned from a weeks stay at The Hide and this is the first time I have ever written an online review for anything! So impressed were we with the site and everything it has to offer, we had to pass on our views. The site has a beautifully looked after field with well-tended open spaces (perfect for the kids to run free) as well as just the few secluded pitches nestled into the corners of the field and surrounded by small banks of willow and grasses. Each pitch has an allocated covered 'kitchenette' which is a blessing if you experience any damp weather but also for cooking and storage. The compost loo and shower are beautifully clean and the shower is both hot and reliable (the owners Jemma and Geraint are happy to adjust the temperature if so desired) so you can enjoy the birdsong and sunshine as you shower. The jewel in the crown is the incredible sea view and the strategically placed seating areas where you can enjoy the sunsets which seem to be glorious every night. There is a short walk down to a pebbly beach which at low tide gives way to sand and rock pools and the clear water provides the perfect place to swim, paddle or kayak. Wildlife is in abundance both on the beach and on the site. Peregrines, buzzards, seabirds, seals and if you are lucky, porpoises and dolphins. Although we are reluctant to share this gem of a site with anyone, Jemma and Geraint deserve due credit for the wonderful job they are doing and for maintaining such a beautiful site - is truly is a very special place. Not to mention the delicious home-baked treats that are left for your arrival! As regular campers and visitors to Pembrokeshire, this is now our number one spot. 10/10. Thank you Jemma and Geraint.

Beautiful, tranquil and well-located. We'll be back!

Had an absolutely fabulous stay at The Hide! Jemma and Geraint were wonderful hosts. The campsite is beautiful, really well-thought through and we especially loved that they've made many decisions to prioritise nature over revenue, I really can't commend them enough for that! Stunning views and great location to explore Fishguard, local beaches and other attractions in and around Cardigan too. We found it really easy to find stuff and park. Also enjoyed walking in the Preseli hills. We stayed with 3 small kids in our teepee tent and there was plenty of space on the pitch for the tent. We setup a tarp as well to cover the picnic bench area (bench provided), which worked really well for us. I made the silly decision to leave our camping table at home, which actually would have been really helpful in the covered kitchen area as another work surface. I know Jemma and Geraint have plans to continue upgrading the site, even though it's great as it is, but some way of freezing ice packs would be terrific. A method to charge phones/devices would be a nice to have, but (for me) not essential to an eco site.

Simply the best!

This is the best and the loveliest campsite I have ever stayed at! The location is fantastic with gorgeous views and it completely envelops you in nature! It also gives easy access to beaches and coves; the coast path for wonderful walks; and the amenities of Fishguard and Newport! I cannot overstate how beautifully this campsite has been set up! Jemma and Geraint - two beautiful humans!- have not only paid attention to every detail but have set the whole place up with love! Which gives it such a special feeling! It is meticulously maintained and nothing is too much trouble for this lovely couple! I have already booked for next year!
