Great location

We really enjoyed our stay at Lavender Hall Fisheries. The site is perfect around the lake. Very friendly welcome and informative from Debbie. Great looking cafe on site which, unfortunately, we didn't get to try.

Very welcoming site

We used this site for a trip to the NEC knowing that we would need to rely on our leisure battery and toilet / shower in the motorhome. We arrived in the dark and Debbie kindly talked us through the arrival track (which is a track and a bit bumpy due to a nearby lorry park, but take your time and persevere, it’s worth it!) We utilised the railway station adjacent to the site to take the two stops to the NEC, which makes a full day at the show so much easier. The following morning we had a wild swimming and then a sauna plus breakfast in the cafe and a very nice coffee, a lazy day followed by a stroll to a pub and then a farm shop in Balsall Common. The woodfired saunas are amazing and were brand new. All the family and team are very friendly and it’s great to see them thriving after the challenges of HS2! Keep up the great work, we will be back

Great site

This is the second time I have stayed at this site. It is ideal for visiting the NEC with the rail station only 5 minutes walk away. Only 8 minutes on the train to the NEC (£3.10 return), takes the strain of queuing to get into the NEC, plus waiting for buses etc. Plus a superb Café on site for a really good breakfast and the view of the lakes. They also do fresh water swimming in the lakes which looked great from the warmth of the motorhome. The only downside is that it's close to the station so can be noisy at times.

A little gem of a site

We really enjoyed our stay at this site, currently a fishery with 3 picturesque lakes. There are 5 pitches with no EHU and no shower, but access to the toilet in the cafe when it's open. Location is excellent in terms of ease of driving there and perfect for the train, Berkswell station a few minutes walk. We used the train to get to the NEC, approximately a 10 min journey and every half hour until late. There are a number of pubs within walking distance. Overall it was a peaceful stay, however there is train noise and during the day noise from nearby major construction work, neither bothered us and is a small price to pay for the convenience of the railway. The owners are lovely and are developing the site. We had a breakfast at the busy cafe and can recommend that. We hope to return soon.

OASIS

An excellent certified Location. The family are so welcoming and to find an oasis like this with such easy access to Birmingham (and London!) is fabulous. With a café open some days and a lake for wild swimming, it really is a lovely find.

Perfect location for the NEC

A perfect location for accessing the NEC. There is the opportunity to use the train from the bottom of the site. Two stops and you're there! There is no electricity which is advertised but all other facilities are available including a cafe. Be aware that the sat nav led us astray, so read the directions which are available. The reception experience was a friendly and helpful experience.

Great site!

Very helpful owners of the campsite. Extremely good location to get the train into the NEC. We had a very peaceful stay would definitely recommend and would come back to this site.

Fishing lake

Was met by the owner who informed us to use the train to get to the NEC. It was easy and there was no driving. The café food was excellent and had two breakfasts, I would recommend.

Brilliant stay

A very nice basic site with superb cafe. By the rail station, so brilliant if you are going to NEC or if you want to go fishing. Some noise from HS2 project but doesn't start until after 8:00. Will stay again for NEC shows as so easy to get there and no queuing.

Nec visit

A very attractive, small and cosy site for campers over looking nature, and the very pretty fishing lakes. A wonderful café on site with great breakfasts. There is a Trainline nearby, but it didn't bother us as the trains were very few and far between. Very clean and tidy around the lakes and site. I would definitely stay here again. The location to the NEC is perfect, it was 10 mins by train.

Perfect overnight stay if you visiting NEC

Overall, a pleasant stay, got cafe on site which serves a good breakfast as well as other things. Sign posting could be better at the gate way in, we drove into a lorry park first and then went off down the road thinking we were in the wrong place! Second attempt, we went right at the entrance and found the site. But other than that, all was okay.
