Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2026

Positives. Clear maps to know where to go, some activities on offer, dog agility park was good. Market was brilliant - once we knew it was there, if was a shame to hear it is being stopped and the park expanded! Negatives. Very poorly kept toilets and showers for the touring area - dirty, unkempt, water pressure too hard or too hot, so unable to even wash your hands properly. On the opposite, the Elsan point shower head had no pressure and was practically unusable! Swimming pool rule means no single parents or multiple children (especially twins etc!) can swim as 1 adult needed for everyone under 4 - this was not shown anywhere obvious, therefore we were let down. Poor information all round of where to go, how to book activities, the fact the market was on. A lot of work to do to improve fairness for new holidaymakers in booking holidays, pool accessibility, opening/closure of outdoor pools. Outdoor Lido not open most of the week and due to swimming pool rule - this meant we were unable to use these facilities (one of the main reasons we booked). Another reason we booked was dog facilities - the "dog washing" area was not usable, did not work and was directly in the pub garden . Electricity cut out twice in the Pavilion theatre, two nights in a row so we did not use again. No recycling points seen. Electric scooter/bike rules needed (i.e. not in parks!). Overall, a very average stay - we luckily made the most of it by going off site a couple of days!

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2026

The pitches are very narrow. The site worker who showed people to the pitches didn't site people correctly and the pitches are not marked out. This resulted in the awning from the adjacent caravan virtually touching our caravan. People extended beyond their actual pitch. The toilets were disgusting. They were not cleaned on a regular basis. Most of the time no toilet paper. The toilet paper dispenser was on the floor for over 48 hours and not touched. The facilities for the children and evening entertainment were very good. The number of electric bikes and scooters being ridden by children was beyond belief. At high speed and no consideration for other people or traffic.

Loved the whole place only thing that was wrong was toilets in one area were backed up and the wife said the lady’s wasn’t clean either but I don’t think this was down to the staff

The campsite was actually really nice, the staff at reception were brilliant and did all they could for an issue I had with my vehicle. The food wasn't amazing for the prices, and not much choice. The holiday park itself is aimed at families, but the amusement park on site closed at 6pm, when people are on holidays, this is the usual time they go out with kids in the evening to have fun. The swimming pool was really good my son enjoyed this. Shower/toilet blocks really clean and tidy, but just need updating, to allow you to have a shower without the stop start.

I was very happy with the site , I gave facilities 3 stars because the toilet and shower facilities drastically need upgrading.

Spa area was great. It could take more (you specify you only want to use the spa) as families tend to only use the pool. Great area for cycling given by girl in reception. Should print it out. It was fabulous. Didn't rate the entertainment - but that isn't our thing. Lovely outdoor area for sunbathing too. Shame there is no beach access though.

Lovely place

The site had lots to do for children which was great. It is at least a 10 minute drive from things, so you need a car, but for our 3 nights, there was enough onsite to not need to leave. The facilities were being updated and looked to be making them even better. There were a few flies in the toilets and wash room, these could be cleaner.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2026

A good place to stay with children - when they're not kicking ball and hitting your caravan. Our first night was disruption for hours in the evening with people singing ridiculously loud. We had children hitting our caravan with a football multiple times whilst my baby was trying to sleep. Sunday night onwards was fine, as people left and we had quieter nights. The facilities are good. The pool, playground, arcades. I'd recommend for children aged 3 upwards. It's a shame people had to throw their rubbish on the floor round the bin, despite several bins being present. The water tap was questionable and needed to be repaired. Location was okay as you can go in to Hornsea or Bridlington for the day. Probably won't return again until our child is much older but overall, a good, cheap place to stay for a few days.

Excellent site loads to do

Unfortunately, the plot was under trees and we couldn't get TV signal or Wi-Fi & quite a walk to showers & toilet. Although, at weekend, the general site was very busy & we were glad we were in the quieter area.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches May 2026

Pump track very popular since opening on the Saturday we were there. At points, too many on, especially little ones with not enough skills, but parents need to be sure their kids are capable and not going to get hurt, but maybe you could look at restricting use to 4 - 6 at a time. Other improvements ongoing so will have to come back, maybe on site man made beach next to would be good as no beach access due to coastal erosion, obviously not the site's fault. Toilet blocks could do with being updated but in the main, clean. Overall a very good stay.

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring Pitches May 2026

Unfortunately not to our liking as serviced pitches not well looked after and toilet and shower facilities were awful. Showers & toilets very poorly maintained and for first time ever we decided we were better to use our onboard facilities to keep clean.

Great time

The site was lovely lots of freedom for the kids, the only downside I found was the shower facilities could have been cleaned more often. Other than that, brilliant,

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Touring Pitches May 2026

The campsite was fantastic loads to do for everyone even the dog. The only thing that let this site down was the toilet/shower blocks, they were not very clean and maintained. The site owners have spent a lot of money on this campsite but they do need to invest in the toilet blocks.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches May 2026

Booked for three nights over the bank holiday weekend but the electricity went off site wide on our last full day - to the extent that the shop and amusements were closed down. We had a little one with us so after a good few hours with no power, we bit the bullet and packed up, cutting the trip short by a night. Gutted after paying the bank holiday weekend premium, as our previous stay here was good. We didn't dare risk a May night with no heating as it would've been hellish with a freezing cold toddler! Electricity aside, the park is well set up with plenty to do, although the supplies at the shop could be more plentiful (we called in on a Sunday and there wasn't any bread and down to the last bottle of milk). This was our second stay at Skirlington but I'm not sure if we will return after this trip, as other reviews suggest that the electricity issue has been ongoing a while.

Great site , looks like your investing a lot of money for the site , Wonkey donkey cider and beer was not the coldest, the cider was worse, had 2 meals , I had steak pie, which was hot but everything else just lukewarm warm , wife had pizza which was nice , but extra mac and cheese was overcooked ,
