Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Overflow Field)Aug 2021

Great site on clifftop, brilliant coastal walks to Whitby or Scarborough. There was a bar, takeaway, shop on site and dog area, as well as a swimming pool (which was sadly closed due to COVID). The staff were friendly and helpful. Only think I suggest is designated pitches... Ideal touring base for Yorkshire. Will definitely stay again.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Overflow Field)Aug 2021

It was a very busy period during August and we were in an over flow section so our expectations were low anyway. The spot was fine, water was not too far and toilets and bins not too far. The fish and chip shop was good and bar area was good. The shop is well stocked and the park and dog exercise area are good. Negatives are there's not much nearby and only food on site is the chippy. The bar gets very busy. The toilets and showers are not the cleanest and there needs to be more showers, one morning the queue was ridiculously long. The indoor swimming area was shut which was a massive disappointment as the website didn't say it was, everyone using COVID as an excuse. Lovely area though and we probably would stay again but it could be improved for sure.

Lovely site

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Overflow Field)Jul 2021

Well stocked shop, fish and chips, great bar. It was dog friendly and well laid out. It was a nice walk to the sea. We loved it and would love to come again. We found the staff very friendly and we pitched up in a good spot. Everyone was friendly and we met some lovely people in the short time we were there. It was so convenient for visiting other towns on the east coast too.

Great stay

Twin Axle Caravan - All Weather Touring Super Pitches (Lower Area)Jun 2021

The site has good access with good hardstanding fully serviced pitches on 2 levels with static caravans in between. The lower pitches look back towards the Yorkshire Wolds whilst the upper pitches look towards the sea. The pitches at the top of the site are quieter than those at the lower end due to footfall from the camping pitches using the facilities there. If you are using the grass field adjacent to the access roadway, be prepared for challenging/muddy conditions in wet weather. The shop is reasonably well stocked, the club house is average, well used with some entertainment. The indoor pool was closed due to COVID. The site backs on to the sea, next to Cayton Bay, although it has its own bay it was unsafe to access the beach although there is a nice clifftop unmade pathway. I found it was good value for money.
