Midsummer Caravan and Camping is well located for exploring, a five minute drive from Flamingo Land and only ten minutes from the North York Moors National Park. There are grass pitches for tents, as well as fully serviced hardstanding pitches for tourers. There is an onsite play park for keeping little ones busy, with the coast and Scarborough also within a 35 minute drive. Dogs are welcome too!

Just come back from 3 night break from here. Site is lovely & quiet, which was perfect for our son who has autism. Owners were really friendly & helpful. They even purchased all the kids on site Easter eggs which was really thoughtful of them. Location was perfect, surroundings were beautiful and definitely be returning again this year. Only recommendation I would share would be to update the chemical waste point. Really looking forward to returning back already.

This was the first time at this site, which has recently been taken over. Great location not far from the village with nicely set out pitches. Still a couple of things to sort out, like the smell from the water tank, which has been checked. We used bottled water to drink. The grey waste needed to have a way of rinsing out, which they are aware of and waiting to get sorted. Friendly and helpful staff.

Very friendly and welcoming owners in a great location. Lovely park for the kids. More toilets and showers needed. The water had a strong smell, so take bottled water.

This is a beautiful, well-kept and peaceful site. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the showers & toilets are unavailable but if you're self-sufficient that's fine.

Thank you for your review. Nice to meet you. Unfortunately the toilets etc were a decision I had to make this year.

Very well kept site, quiet and a mixture of hard standing and grass. Very well presented. Only four stars due to no facilities but we did know that, otherwise would highly recommend and if in that area again would rebook. We stayed to go to Mathewsons for bangers and mash and it couldn't have been better positioned. Warm welcome from Beverley and helpful local information shared.

Midsummer is a small, very well kept site The owner appears to run it by herself and keeps it very tidy. She is very friendly and helpful. The grass is kept short. It is fed by a spring, which means the water is very soft. The toilets and showers were closed when we visited but we were aware of that in advance. There is some road noise in the morning and early evening. Would definitely stay here again.

Midsummer strikes a great balance between quiet and convenience. There are half a dozen pubs only a few minutes drive away. From the site's two fields you can't see a building besides the owner's farmhouse. My two nights there were exceptionally peaceful. The owner was most helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a stay.

As first time caravaners we looked for a quiet, smallish site close to towns and villages we could visit, Midsummer fitted the bill perfectly. A very friendly welcome on arrival from the owners with help and advice throughout our stay, especially with the Whale water pump! Facilities are very clean and well maintained. Highly recommended as a base for visits to York, Malton, Pickering, the North Yorkshire Moors and coastal resorts such as Filey, Scarborough and Whitby.

An absolutely charming little site a couple of miles from Thornton-le-Dale and the moors beyond, with much to see and do in the area. The owners are friendly, approachable and helpful hosts. Being for adults only and with no large groups the site is peaceful; it is well laid out with plenty of space between level tent pitches along the edge of a field, which is available for pitch and putt and dog walking. Facilities are spotlessly maintained and adequate for the number of visitors on site. One unusual and interesting feature is the artsian well from which the site draws its water- very soft, natural and clean, and quite different to tap water. We are very likely to return to Midsummer in future.

This is a lovely, quiet and friendly campsite. It's adults only, which is a huge bonus if you want a quiet and restful break. We were much later arriving than we had intended but were still met with a warm welcome and supported with directions when we got completely lost. Facilities (toilets / showers) are basic in terms of the unit that they are in, but very clean with everything that you need inside. We used the electric hook up. All in all a lovely stay in a quiet, relaxed environment. Felt very safe, no worries about walking on your own to the loo in the middle of the night! Also, dog friendly.

Absolutely amazing little campsite, the owners are lovely, very helpful and always up for a chat! The campsite itself is rather larger, however they have limited the number of pitches which means the campsite is quiet and spacious. The only downside is there is only one toilet, one shower, then one toilet and shower combined. However we only found ourselves queuing for the toilet once. Lovely and clean, well kept grass. Definitely my kind of campsite, and will be booking to stay again.
