Adult only and dog friendly touring park, Flaxton Meadows is a peaceful base offering the best of both worlds being just 15 minutes from York and ten minutes from the start of the Howardian Hills, within easy reach of the North York Moors. The site is kept small with just 25 pitches for campers and tourers with excellent eco-conscious facilities including a bar, pizza, nature trail, a launderette and facility block with underfloor heating.

Our first visit to this quiet adults only relaxing site.with fantastic spotlessly clean facilities, nature trail, dog walking area, nice well stocked bar/lounge, Sky sports and a pizza van. Everything is on your doorstep with York being 6 miles away and the east coast less than an hour away. The nearest village is Strensall with shops, fuel station and a late night Londis shop.The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning.

We booked Flaxton meadows on the morning of out stay )( was a last minute decision to go away for the weekend) We arrived and was shown to our pitch by very friendly staff, and settled in for the day/ night . Next morning we had a shower in what can only be described be described as very clean and quirky themed cubicles In the afternoon had a few pints and watched lthe football in the fantastic bar and again very friendly staff were very chatty. We had had a pizza from the pizza oven/ van on site which was ok. We are new to the motor home game but can honestly say this is the best site we have been on and will definitely recommend it to our family and friends, we will definitely be going back

Jewel in the Crown Touring Park with a thoroughly enjoyable stay from our own Hectic lives as Park Managers in Lincoln. Staff exceptionally upbeat and attentive. The Park itself Created by an Artist Shower Fascilities Best we have encountered yet Perfect having a bar to sit back and unwind with onsite food freshly prepared from a very clean purpose built catering trailer Attention to detail 5* some ideas definitely will be implemented back here in Lincoln Anannabel and Martin Definitely Assets to the Company with a fabulous welcome making the start more enjoyable ...love the automatic mowers

Amazing site. Cleanliness is pristine. The shower block is immaculate with underfloor heating too. Champers Bar on site is lovely if you want a few drinks and to meet other campers. Hugh TV screen if you want to watch football etc. Peaceful and quiet site, not to far to go into York either. They have a pizza van on site, and the pizzas and cheesy chips are excellent. The owners are adding extra things to the site too, like breakfast barms in the morning and also, a pool table we were told will soon be available. There are also games like dominoes and board games you can play in the bar area. The outside seating at the bar is lovely and relaxing. Dish wash and dog wash facilities are available and also a washing machine and dryer if you need to wash any clothes. Each pitch has a water tap and EHU and there is an Elsan area on site too. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and we will definitely be returning for a further visit. Absolutely loved it.

One of the best campsites we have stayed at. A great location, spotless facilities, lovely staff and a warm, cosy and reasonably priced bar. It was approximately £13 for an Uber into York. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Quiet weekend away. Great, spotless no fuss. Top top facilities. We did nothing with no pressure. Just walked the dog. Will defo be back.

Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We stayed as a young couple and thought it was absolutly brilliant. Hosts were absolute brilliant and couldn’t ask for anything more. Onsite facilities were very clean.

Excellent for the week long stayers who want a break at a very private, quiet place. Also for those who want to keep off the internet and not want to make Whatsapp video calls to see your grandchildren whilst away. My sim company signal I found was was useless, so relied on Flaxton Wi Fi, which I also found was terrible. But, positioning of the site was great. Village 2.5 miles away with garage / post office combined, shops, pub & restaurants. York approx. 9 miles away, also one hour away from Scarborough, Bridlington and Whitby. Flaxton staff nice and helpful, very nice shower block and toilets spotlessly clean. Nice drinks bar selling fresh / lively pint of lager and a pizza trailer. A lot of converted vans parked up whilst we were there, they have many doors so expect to hear every one open and close, unlike a caravan with one only door.

Great site. Lovely team to assist and brilliant bar to end the day. Woodland/Moorland walks adjacent to the site. Can't comment on surrounding pubs/restaurants as we had no need to venture too far.

Lovely site, spotlessly clean and the staff are really helpful. I have only rated the facilities as 2 star because we ran out of gas and ended up going to every stockist in York and no-one had any stock of the gas, so had to return home a day early as we couldn't cook and the site doesn't allow BBQ's, which would have helped! The pizza van only opens at 5pm, pizza's are okay but really needed a few herbs for taste. Would definitely visit again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flaxton Meadows. Very well maintained site with outstanding facilities and great staff. Showers and toilets were wonderful, so clean and spotless. Also, great pot wash area and recycling area. Brilliant little bar which opens every evening from 5.00 through to 9.30 with outside and inside seating. There is also a great on site pizza van which opens Tuesday to Sunday 5 till 8.30. We will definitely be returning.

Great weekend away at Flaxton Meadows. Site spotless, great facilities and the bar is very good with great prices. Not far from York and Scarborough. We will be back next year for a couple of weekends. What a find.

A lovely site and we were made to feel very welcome on arrival. Spacious pitches very clean tidy toilets and showers. There was a great bar and pizza van on site. The dog walk/ nature trail is ideal. All in all, I can't fault this site. We liked it that much we have already booked to return next week too.

Stayed for a week, but could have stayed a month. What a fabulous 👌 site. Two sets of couples ran the site like clockwork. Amazingly clean, tidy, friendly and both made our stay so enjoyable. The bar on site was a bonus of course, but not only convenient, it was a great social meeting place to chat with other like minded people. Never noisy and just a comfy and welcoming space to chill on an evening. We can't recommend this site enough. Once visited, I'm sure it won't be your last. The best we have ever stayed on. Thanks guys for being so lovely and making our stay so memorable. We left feeling like we were friends and not just another customer. Well done on all your hard work, you are all just brilliant at what you do. Hope to visit again. Carol, Ron, and of course, Buddy - who thanks you too for all the free treats 😀

What a little gem of a site! Staff on hand to help on arrival. Extremely clean modern facilities. Value for money. Every thing was clearly signed. The bar was a lovely touch! The ground was nice and flat which made it easy to get our tent up.

Very helpful team at Flaxton Meadows. We only stayed one night but the setting is nice with a wildlife walk around the camp perimeter. Clean and warm toilet and shower block with a good eco ethos.

A lovely quiet, secure site that was well maintained and included top quality showers and toilets with underfloor heating plus adequate facilities for washing up. The onsite wardens were very friendly, helpful and visible as they manned the very cosy on site bar, as well as ensuring the site was always clean and tidy. Dogs were welcome in most parts of the site but had to be kept on a lead at all times. The specific dog washing area was really helpful especially as it used warm water too. The camping pitch was almost limitless as the camping area was never too busy. The location was ideal for travelling around in all directions. There was plenty of wildlife including the resident peacocks. Be aware that there is water nearby (inaccessible) so for those that need it, make sure you protect yourself from mozzies! The Wi-Fi was a bonus too but not always reliable. All in all, an excellent site that we would not hesitate to recommend to others who wish to explore York and surrounding countryside and coastline. We used the Park and Ride in York and Whitby, which was ideal. Monkey, our Maltipoo gives it 4 paws despite being apprehensive towards the automatic lawnmowers! 😂 🤨👍🐾

The Camp Rangers were very welcoming, but they were not local so didn't know much about the area. The facilities and site were immaculate. The downside was the excessive noise from the busy road.

We do have a leaflet stand of all the local attractions situated in the Champers for Campers bar, and our notice boards on the facilities block also have a QR code which lists all the local attractions and restaurants.
