Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2026 Used as a base camp for other activities and I had plenty of room, shop staff were friendly and no problems parking.

Great location
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2026 Had a very nice stay with wonderful views. Definitely worth catching the sunrise on the tops.
Apart from one group of drunken lads one night, it was very quiet and peaceful. The shower and toilet block is a nice building and does the job. There is a great shop on site, and the pub is well-worth a visit.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2026 We stayed for two nights, myself and my two sons. Just before I was due to come I injured my shoulder so my dad shared driving with me and stayed at the inn while we camped. He booked very last minute and when I called to change our meal bookings and ask questions nothing was too much trouble and this was the common theme throughout our stay, just friendly and efficient. We loved camping in such a beautiful location, the shop is so well equipped and the breakfast rolls were great. My dad’s room in the inn was clean and welcoming and we had two nights of good meals and service, and some lovely beer and wine. We did two long walks from the site itself, it’s a brilliant location and the scenery is absolutely stunning. We really want to come back. Thank you very much.
Great little campsite
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2026 We stayed here with our children for two nights. We felt the location was amazing for walking, we went swimming in the nearby lake - it was great to have a shop and pub onsite too - we could let the children play safely round the campsite too as it felt so safe and easy to see them at all times.

Having direct access to the trails was a massive plus, and the breakfast buns were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!
2 night stay with dog
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2026 just back from a 2 night stay at Sykeside. Great site with plenty of space to set up the tent. Amazing views of the surrounding mountains and walking routes for many of them straight from the campsite. Friendly welcoming staff and great facilities. Will definitely be returning.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2026 Great little campsite. The views are superb. The ladies in the shop are amazing and a nice little shop with good, normal prices, not the greedy prices most have. Will be sure to return many more times. Ended up booking another night.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2026 Excellent location between Glenridding and Ambleside. Campsite isn’t huge but everyone has enough space even for bigger tents. Facilities are clean and have everything you need.

Campsite in a brilliant location
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2026 The campsite is in a beautiful location with stunning scenery and easy access to local hotspots.
The pub on site is a nice bonus, and the windy roads that lead to the site are extremely fun and enjoyable to drive. The site itself was busy whilst we were staying, but facilities were always accessible. The bathrooms were clean enough but nothing special with hot showers.
Only slight downside was that the bins were very full across the site for our whole stay! Highly recommend staying here on a visit to the Lakes and make sure you have a pint at The Kirkstone Pass Inn, just up the road, which has the most extraordinary view as you sit and enjoy your drink!
Fabulous camping with stunning views
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2026 The campsite has the flattest, well-mowed camping field I have ever pitched on!
It's a great location with good facilities - the shop was well stocked with essentials and there was a freezer for ice packs. The staff were really helpful when the wind broke one of our tent poles at 7pm on the 2nd evening. We were able to stay in the cosy bunkhouse, rather than facing a 4 hour drive home.
Our stay was cut short by the broken tent but we'll definitely be back.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2026 This was my first time in the lake district and it was a great campsite to explore some of the local trails in the area, as well as drive onwards to other places in the area.
The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, and the tuck shop was extremely appreciated for the odd items I had forgotten to pack.

Campsite very efficient to check in, great instructions and the facilities wear fantastic.

Stunning place
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2026 Unbelievable views all around this campsite. Everything that you need is there, great shop, pub, large and very clean toilet and shower block. There are rules around fires out at 11 and max 6 adults in a group which are non moveable but that's what keeps this place in such good condition with a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend and is on our list to visit again.
