Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 We thoroughly enjoyed a few nights, you can pick where you park. Lovely and quiet!
So many walks to go on with the dog, lots of wildlife to see.
Lovely pub 20 mins walk through the open horse fields.

Dogs weekend out Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Great weekend out with the dogs, and like the history of the air fields.
Good location, peace and quiet Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 The site was lovely and so spacious.
The only thing I would say is that we knew the gate code would be changed at 11:00 (Sunday) today, but we arrived at 11:01am as we were stuck behind horses and other vans and cars leaving, and the codes were already changed. There was a queue of us waiting to get out. I appreciate we were cutting it fine, but I would expect the person to change the codes and remain there for at least 5-10 mins. We did call and the man returned, but was very grumpy and it took him approx 10mins to get to us, so there is no way he locked it at 11:00am as he said, as 11:03am, I spoke to him back at the other site.
Anyway great site, location and staff (well, except this grumpy one). We will be back and make sure we are not 1 minute late 🤣
Stay at long beach Recommends site
Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Lovely site and the people around you were friendly.
The wildlife made the stay.
Tranquil and off-grid Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 Longbeech is exactly as described - off-grid and in the beautiful surroundings of the New Forest in wild, unallocated (sometimes quite muddy) pitches.
Check-in at the next door Ocknell campsite was efficient and friendly and you are given instructions to navigate the locked gate to get you to your destination.
It's all immaculately clean and well maintained but genuinely no frills, you have to be well equipped and prepared to prove your loo facilities on arrival!
We arrived on a bank holiday weekend so all the great spots were taken, but if you are luckier than us, you will find a private, tranquil glade, almost completely surrounded by trees, your only company - the visiting ponies.
There are a number of great pubs within walking and biking distance across the forest, which can be very muddy, even in August!
Ideal if you are looking for something peaceful, which feels much more remote than it really is. We would definitely go back, and would recommend to others.
Quiet, adults only site, situated in the New Forest Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024 Lovely quiet spot in the New Forest. Adults only. Amongst the trees, never stayed here before but definitely enjoyed the time there.
Would use again, especially in the summer holidays. My only gripe is that they charge for awnings, although dogs are free.
This is a great site for chilling out, will certainly use again soon.
Our stay Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024 Great site and fantastic staff to welcome us and explain how the site works.
Being so close to wildlife and able to choose where you park/pitch gave you the feeling of wild camping.
Idyllic stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2024 Longbeech was the pefect campsite for us. The quiet and beautiful adult only campsite provided us with an opportunity to switch off, relax and re-connect with the stunning natural environment that is the New Forest.
The off-grid, unallocated pitches meant that we were able to find a beautiful private, one VW camper van sized glade, almost completely surrounded by trees, to make our home for the weekend. Check-in at the nearby Ocknell campsite was welcoming, friendly and efficient.
There are two superb and quite different pubs (The Royal Oak at Fritham and the Sir Walter Tyrrell at Brook) within a short walking distance across the forest. The free-roaming ponies, cows and deer that also called the campsite home were the icing on the cake!
We enjoyed our weekend stay there so much, we extended to a third night. We have stayed at many different types of campsites and this has to be one of the best! This campsite is definitely going to become a regular haunt for us!
Lovely site Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 Nice, quiet site, gate locks and only campers have combination, so very secure. Peace only slightly spoilt by distant background noise of road.
Miles of lovely walks through the trees, perfect for our 3 dogs.
Plenty of water points and chemical disposal areas, plus plenty of bins about.
Great time with friends Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 Brilliant location, good atmosphere and more than enough space.
Lovely & peaceful Recommends site
Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 Lovely basic site in the middle of nature.
Getting in was confusing, have to go to another nearby site for access code.
Must book in at Orkney first Recommends site
Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 A lovely spot and was our first visit.
The gate was open so we drove straight in and thought it was strange that there wasn't a reception. It wasn't until the following day when someone came round and asked for our pass and we explained that we didn't have one, that we were told we should've booked in at Orkney first. We were left feeling very embarrassed as we hadn't followed the rules. There was no mention of this on the website or on the booking confirmation
Loved it Recommends site
Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 Really loved staying at this campsite. We originally booked for four nights but extended by another two to six. There was plenty of space to pitch, either in shade, part or full sun. There are plenty of water / CD points around the site and are all clean and tidy.
Horses, with foals, grazed on the grass three of the six mornings we were there. There are great walks on the moors or in the forest. The area is fantastic for cycling, with many gravel trails or quiet roads with very few pot holes. Or if you wish a ride out to Lymington, you can get the ferry across to Yarmouth or the Isle of Wight.
There's a fantastic pub, The Royal Oak, about 2m walk at Fritham, which serves locally brewed ales (Summer Lightning a particular favourite) and does a selection of variants of the Ploughman's Lunch, which are fantastic. All very reasonably priced.
The Staff at Ocknell, where you check in, were all very pleasant and helpful.
So peaceful Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2024 If you want to get back to nature and enjoy the peace and wildlife of the New Forest, this site is perfect.
