About the site

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is the UK's biggest zoo. Set in 600 acres of beautiful parkland on the Chiltern Hills, north of London, the zoo is home to more than 2,500 animals, many of which are endangered in the wild. Lookout Lodge is a fantastic experience for animal lovers of all ages or those simply wanting to escape everyday life. Whipsnade is a very special place during the day but it's even more magical at night - and that's what you get to experience. Your stay comes with a programme of unique activities and a comfortable glamping space all your own. Each lodge pod features comfy beds with soft linen and pillows, a sofa bed, mirror, lighting and power, a private veranda and complimentary towels and bathroom products.

Five lodges include two twin beds and four have double beds. There is also a sofa bed in each lodge, which children can use on the family nights, plus kettle and towels. Outside is a private veranda.

Site rules and policies

We operate both adult only nights and family friendly nights. Children must be aged 14 years and above to stay on adult nights. To stay on family friendly nights children must be aged 5 years or older. Pets are not allowed.

Things to do on site and in the Dunstable area

On this fully hosted experience your guides will enthrall you with fun facts and stories about all of the animals who you will be staying with, whilst guiding you through the continents of Asia, Africa and Europe during your stay.

You'll receive two days of free entry to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo (or one day to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo and one day to ZSL London Zoo) plus free car entry to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo and a complimentary drink on arrival to get you ready for something very special.

After that's it's on to the sunset tour around the zoo, led by passionate and knowledgeable hosts who will help you understand the world of these exotic creatures.

After that you'll be peckish, so it's time for a delicious two course dinner followed by a torchlit walk through the zoo. Retire to your tempting lodge for a night of comfort in the heart of all things wild.

In the morning you'll be served breakfast and treated to a private morning tour around the zoo, where you can watch the animals come to life and start their days.
