Pitch up with fantastic views of Weymouth Bay at Rosewall Camping, just outside of Weymouth, 15 minutes from Dorchester. Choose from plenty of spacious grass pitches with breathtaking views across the bay, each suitable for tents and campervans. The site serves up all the attractions of the South Coast, with the bonus of fishing in two well-stocked lakes and horse riding opportunities next to the site. A great location to discover Dorset!

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Really good value! A great location, excellent facilities (although some form of shower curtain in the lower showers would be appreciated!) Shop sold the basics, including gas canisters, (no firewood though, leading to a group near us foraging in the woods and trying to burn green wood...) but overall, a place we would certainly look at returning to, and leaps beyond some sites!

Relaxing campsite

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

A lovely relaxing campsite that's well stocked, info room, very clean toilets and showers and a lovely park for the kids. A warden onsite. And food vans that sell amazing doughnuts and pizza night, hog roast burgers etc and breakfasts too!

Mobile data reception not very good. Bank holiday weekend was like being in central london complete with dogs baking right outside the tent at 6am

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Lovely few days with the grandchildren (13 annd 12) exploring the area with access to the coast path and local buses between Weymouth and Lulworth Cove. I would definitely consider returning for the walking.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Had pleasant stay. Value for money. Has a small shop. No toilet and shower queues, very quiet. No loud music or late night noisy parties during stay. Fellow campers were kind, respectful and helpful. Dogs were kept on leash by owners and area where I stayed was reasonably clean with accessible rubbish bins and water tap. Will want to return for next holiday to further explore town and area and engage in health promoting activities. Perhaps, should have a notice with information on checking in outside closed shop to help campers who just arrived late.

Enjoyed my stay, people around were friendly and so was the staff. Small park available for kids, toilets/showers neat and clean. Good family experience.

What a view! We were lucky with the weather and the stunning view down to the sea from our pitch was breath-taking. We just chilled and watched the changing panorama. Everything was as it should be - decent plentiful facilities, helpful staff and larger than average pitch size (although not marked out, so it was up to individual campers to observe the 6m rule). The site was obviously great for kids with a playground and plenty of space for games, and the pebbly beach by the Smugglers Inn just a short stroll down the hill (bit trickier on the way back up after dinner at the pub!). We also enjoyed the pizza van on Thursday night.

Very nice stay

Roof Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

A small bay, my set up meant no vehicle, a few days was very pleasant, lower showers had no way of take in dry clothing, top showers had more room, over all would stay again. Very happy.

Great find!

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

We had a great weekend at Rosewall. Absolutely beautiful location, immediate connection to the south west footpath which we made the most of in both directions! Immaculate facilities and the bonus of a pizza van on Thursday night, breakfast truck and evening food at the weekend. Shop had everything we needed. Absolutely silent overnight so made for a good night's sleep, the strict cut off of any activity after 11pm cut our evenings quite short, we'd imagined that quiet chatter around the firepit (no music) would be acceptable when we read the times (we are very respectful campers) but we were asked to effectively go to bed at 11pm by the warden, albeit politely. We didn't mind and did so immediately and the same for the following two evenings but were then awoken by very loud families and music next door at 7am which was an hour before the 8am cut off and they weren't asked to quieten down. I felt that as we were of the younger generation, we were singled out a little. Perhaps having the lower field as a 'later' field could be beneficial to make everyone feel welcome. Despite this, we had a great weekend with friends and enjoyed the local pub and surroundings. Bus routes from the bus stop by Osmington Garage at the top of the road were excellent and allowed us to travel up and down the coast regularly without having to drive. Very polite reception staff and a great stay overall!

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Lovely campsite. Kept clean and tidy. Quiet in the night. Very good place to stay with many attractions for families just a few minutes driving away (Monkey World, Weymouth, Durdle Door). Food trucks visit the campsite a few times a week offering amazing food. The campsite itself ticks all the boxes for cleanliness, friendliness, beautiful views. The beach near the campsite is however quite disappointing. Very rocky and unsuitable for swimming or even walking.

Beautiful site with sea views that is kept spotlessly clean. Site is on a hillside overlooking the sea but plenty of flat pitches available. Great campsite.

A lovely chilled site

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2025

Absolutely stunning site. Very well kept, clean and maintained. It overlooks the bay and should be beautifully tranquil and peaceful. Right on the coastal path so is great for walking and also for sea swimming. The little cove which is 5 minutes away is rocky and not really suitable for swimming but if you walk 15 or 20 minutes to either side of the sit, there are pebbly beaches which are perfect for swimming. The sea is superbly clean and clear and these beaches are also not busy if you like the quiet life! Further afield, plenty to do, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Weymouth, Dorchester and Poole to name but a few. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, when I was there, there was a group of very loud, noisy lads doing whatever they felt like until 5 am. Pitched right by me and played quite offensive music for the whole field to listen to. They did ruin my trip and so it was not the relaxing time I had gone for. I was not able to chill out here and relax. It was just stressful. I believe this is not normal for the site but the wardens said they were powerless to do anything, and that actually, they cause trouble for them every year, which begs the question of why they allow them to keep returning? There are enough campsites where you can party all night but this was supposed to be quiet and is why I booked it. The site is extremely spacious and they ask you to pitch at least 6 metres apart rather than the usual 3 metres, which is really nice to have the extra space! I can't mark the site down on any of the above ratings for location, value for money, service, facilities or cleanliness as all of these things were great, but wardens have a job to do in managing the site. Part of that is managing people and this simply wasn't done. I can't understand why they didn't just ask them to leave, throw them off the site and why do they keep letting them return. Not a great stay and sadly just not relaxing at all. Such a shame. Everything else about this site is lovely! Ultimately, managers need to manage, I haven't ticked 'peace and quiet' as that is the very last thing that it was.

First time at Rosewall for me and it was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Great access to the SW coastal path and a couple of hours to Weymouth. The facilities on site were great and the arrival and departure times so logical and convenient. You get 1 and a half days, 9am check in and midday check out.

We were able to choose where we pitched up and we have a view of the sea. Great location and short stroll to the local inn for food. The shower block was cleaned regularly and the cobwebs in the ceiling had been removed as last year it was a little off-putting. Great location.

Great place

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2025

Lovely quiet location with a great coastal walk into Weymouth. Took us 1.5 hours. Just out of the site there was a great 13th century pub behind and to the side of the pub you can get down to a beach with large smooth pebbles and crystal clear water and on other side smaller pebbles. I will defo be back, loved the location.
