Simple little site in the rear of a nice pub - food was good! Clean toilets/showers and all the usual stuff you'd expect. Nice kids park in the beer garden!

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

Having booked this site because of the location being right next to the pub, which clearly stated food was being served on a Wednesday, we were very disappointed to turn up and find that that was not the case. We were told that food was only served Thursday through to Sunday and that Wednesday food availability is a mistake. The site itself does what it says on the tin, it is a small field with electric hook-ups available. The wet room style shower and toilet was clean and easy for an overnight stay. Good value for money but misleading.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Touring PitchesMay 2025

it was very relaxed, can pitch wherever you like. Was a great location and value for money, looked fantastic. We were a bit disappointed on the state of the toilets and the shower. They weren't cleaned all weekend and didn't have any toilet paper for 2 out of 3 days, even after raising it in the pub. Apart from that, we had a great weekend. Very popular and great set up for families. play area and beer garden to be enjoyed.

Ok, but a heads up would have been nice

Arrived to a 30th birthday party with a live band 20 yards from pitch. Not a problem, loved the music. But a heads up would have been nice. "Grass electric hookup pitches" are half gravel and there was only one, as the others seem to be permanent caravans? Just told by staff to sort ourselves out. Only one shower for whole site. Pitch next to us was up and loud until 4am. Nobody monitoring and nobody answered phone number, not great with two kids. Lovely pub and could have been an amazing stay.

We booked a grass pitch without EHU. The campsite is well looked after and facilities clean. The pub and staff are great. Some areas are sloping so worth taking ramps. We thought the price was fine but £5 is quite a lot per night for a dog, so it might put us off staying for more than one night. The TT car & bike night was brilliant and was the reason we chose to stay (3rd Tues of the month) but best avoided if you want, what would otherwise be, a nice quiet, rural spot. The nearby Hook Norton brewery is well worth a visit.

We could not believe we spent all evening in the pub, come Sunday morning, there was no breakfast served = unbelievable! 8 of us hungry. By the time we had all wrapped up, there was no time to find anywhere else :( The disabled, baby changing and shower is in one room. Being disabled, I am not too quick with things. I came out to find a big queue waiting :( Embarrassing. Drinks prices are top heavy.

Good location

The expected grass pitch had been changed to hard standing with a large area of newly laid stone which, although would be useful in wet weather created a fairly 'industrial' appearance. The site is situated next door to a waste transfer site which was quite noisy, but this was not in use over the weekend. Toilet and shower facilities were very basic but we were aware of this at booking and it was reflected in the reasonable pricing. Dining in the pub as a pre booked group was slightly marred by unprepared tables and a slightly restricted menu but overall, staff were friendly and helpful. Although we had not been made aware of a live music event when booking, it enhanced the evening for our group.

Erratic but pleasant enough

Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

Check in: member of staff was pretty rude (sat lunch time) and pretty clueless on a simple question about getting water. Have been visiting few years now and the improvements are brilliant a far cry for the place 6 years ago. Busy pub, which is nice to see, but the very loud music pumping into the garden and even worse, the same Sony on loop! It's not a quiet, read a book site now. By erratic, I refer to the 2 same 4x4s speeding in and out, causing a dust bath to everyone multiple times day (10 times each). Bizzare behaviour. Play park a lovely addition, nice to see families out enjoying themselves. Would definitely return but would stay on grass pitch out the way.

Lovely site, very relaxing. Beautiful pub and lunch was amazing. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. The only thing thing that let's it down is only having 1 shower and toilet.

A pleasant place to stay

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2025

Lovely spot right next to the pub, slightly sloping field but wasn't a problem for us. You can park next to the tent which is a bonus. Clearly a lot of money spent recently on the pub and the site. The pub is lovely, dog friendly and great value. Currently only one shower and toilet (+ toilets in the pub), but they are working hard on changing this and are currently negotiating the usual Cotswolds planning challenges. No queue for the shower or toilet during our stay. It's about a 25 minute walk into Hook Norton (brewery is worth a visit!) and despite being next to the road there's very little traffic.

Pleasant pub stay

The Gate Hangs High is a lovely pub and very central to visiting pretty villages and towns. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the grass and hard standing pitches are level and very tidy . Would definitely recommend.

A very nice site, work in progress for camping, all facilities there, working well and very clean. Quite simple but good. Great pub with excellent food. Excellent service. Local colour - very much a country pub.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2025

The views are stunning, upon arrival was told no need to check in, just go set up anywhere we like. Ground was lumpy bumpy, hard to get a good bed level. Single toilet shower block, when accessible as busy, was dirty. Floor was disgusting and location was right at the top of the site so had to walk a far way in the dark as no lighting provided, but the shower was hot and powerful.

A really good stop over site - plenty of pitches - facilities are basic but the price is very reasonable. The staff in the pub were excellent - Charlie was brilliant, helping us to sort out a takeaway (the kitchen was closed the night we stayed).

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2025

The site is still in the making, a lot of work needs to be done. No toilet block, waiting for planning. Ground very uneven, one toilet block with one toilet shower. One water tap. The beer in the pub is expensive, £4 for a pint of shandy. A man and his wife, G&T and a pint was £11. Did not try the food, no menu on the table.
