VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 Great place to stay, really rural and relaxing. Ulverston 20 mins away, Coniston 25 mins away!
Fantastic campsite Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 It's off the beaten track, but well worth this visit. A working farm at the bottom of Coniston lake tucked away in the hills. It was a fantastic find for our weekend away with 2 small boys, who loved the views of sheep in the fields.
The campsite was flat in places, pitches by a stream, or in the field with 360 views. It was quiet and lovely and a hit with families.
Toilets and showers were immaculate, well kept and plenty of hot water.
A lovely stay, we will definitely be back.
Fantastic stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 Gorgeous location, nestled amongst hills and grazing land for sheep and cows.
Really generous selection of facilities and all very accessible. Plenty of room on the site and friendly people. So reasonably priced too!
10/10 stay, would highly recommend.
Wonderful location, lovely area and clean facilities Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 We arrived with a large tent, having booked for a small tent. This was no problem, in fact, we were offered any vacant site including an electric point (without electricity).
There are 4 toilets, 3 showers, a washing up sink, a washing machine, dryer and a fridge, all newly painted and cleaned each night. There is information about shopping, routes for cyclists to avoid busy roads and local activities. Access is via a narrow single track with sheep.
Most enjoyable.
Striding Edge weekend Recommends site

Highly recommended.
A beautiful, remote campsite on a working sheep farm Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 Beautiful, quiet site. Very much off the beaten track, great if you want to get away from it all. It's a working sheep farm so expect some farm smells, but not at all bad.
Facilities were good. Nice hot water and good shower facilities. There's a shared-use fridge which is very helpful if you're staying in hot weather.
2 nights stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 Quiet camp site, surrounded by lovely fields. We stayed with a 1 year old and she was very excited to see the sheep nearby and all the birds that flew over.
Camp site manager/ owner was friendly and helpful when we arrived.
Facilities were basic but clean and as expected.
Great place Recommends site

Really enjoyed the stay Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 Really enjoyed our stay here, lots of lovely flat grass pitches not far from facilities. Lovely views from the site. Road a little windy to get there from Coniston but absolutely fine!
Unspoilt part of South Lakeland Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 Fabulous spot, very unspoilt part of lakes, really liked it - will be back. Great walks from door close to Cumbrian Way.
Well organised site in a stunning location Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 We loved our stay here. The facilities were regularly cleaned and although basic gave us everything we needed. The local area is beautiful and we did a couple of the recommended walks which were stunning.
Our children loved playing in the stream and watching the farm animals every day.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 Lovely little site, we turned up pretty later than expected and the host was so nice and understanding. Got all the facilities that you need, perfect place for a few nights stay.
Lovely place Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 Great location for access to trails and the campsite is not too large. Everything was easy
Great campsite located on a working farm Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2023 The 4 of us stayed at Birchbank and we all had a lovely time in our little corner of the field next to the stream. There were 3 showers, 3 loos and 2 sink areas and we never had to wait to use the facilities. The facilities are basic but the water was always so lovely and hot so no worries from us at all!
It was lamb season so amazing to sit and watch the animals across the fields. The cows are a vocal, but we appreciated that we stayed literally right next door to their barn and nothing ear plugs can't help with at night!
Very peaceful couple of days and no trouble with any noise or disruption etc. We cycled to the nearest pub but it was a tricky ride as very hilly, so something to consider as there isn't anywhere within a short walking distance. You do need your car to drive around. Would recommend and a good price! Thanks!
Brilliant place, perfect stay! Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2023 A lovely farm with beautiful surroundings! Plenty of space on the site, very peaceful. Lots of walks from site too. Shower/toilet block very clean and were continuously kept clean throughout the day. If you're looking for a laid back campsite, this is it. We will be back in the future.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Oct 2022 Absolutely a stunning, beautifully located campsite with excellent facilities, friendly owners and perfect places to walk. Our dog loved it too. Saw wild hoses, lots of sheep and pheasants. Highly recommend this farm, will definitely be back time and time again.
Great remote farm site Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2022 Great place to stay for walkers. We were out of season so very quiet, the facilities might not be up to it if the site is full though. Fantastic dark night skies, no noise or light pollution.
Footpaths from the site in all directions although lots of sheep so the dog was on the lead quite a bit.
Superb Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2022 Brilliant! Lovely people, good long walks, near to Coniston, Ulverston, properly in the country, great to get away from it all! Farm superb, lovely views, two shower blocks, very clean. Sun shines in camping area, would go again.
Quiet countryside escape Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2022 Perfect for getting away from everything, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere even though Ulverston is about 7 miles away and there's some fantastic scenery around the site. We enjoyed seeing and hearing the sheep going about their day too.
The facilities were adequate and well-maintained, and there's a lovely little stream through the middle of the site.
Would definitely recommend and hopefully we'll be back some time.
Lovely campsite Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2022 Really lovely campsite in a beautiful setting. Facilities are great and pitches are spacious. In a good driving distance of Coniston. Incredible for the price too.
Fabulous place to camp Recommends site
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2022 We had a great 2 nights camping in tent, a bit far from the lake and other shops, but if you go prepared you can have a great time.
Quiet, friendly campsite Recommends site
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2022 In short, this was just what we were looking for!
It's a small campsite in a very quiet rural area, it's on a working farm but it's literally in the middle of nowhere, which was perfect. The owners were lovely and very helpful when asking for information. It's got all the usual basic facilities for washing up, fridge/freezer, showers, sinks etc. The toilets and showers are unisex and they also have a larger cubicle for families. The pitches were spaced out and very generous, we had a large tent with electric hookup and had plenty of space to pitch up and for the car. It's such a lovely place to stay, even with the local farm life. Lots of local walks with beautiful views of the coast from the hills and The Old Man of Coniston. Shops are about half hour away in Ulverston, but it was easy to find.
We loved our stay and plan to come back again after such a beautiful visit.
