Clear filters Walking distance to Ilfracombe
Camping Pod - Camping Pod Jul 2024 This campsite was within walking distance to Ilfracombe, coastal path, beach and pub. The shower/toilet block was very clean and secure. The whole site was well laid out and very clean, the people in reception were very helpful.
We had great weather during our stay, we visited Lundy island and explored the area, which is stunning.

Walk to the beach took about 30 minutes from the van where it was pitched.
Bus stops will take you to local beaches.

Lovely nature trail walk that dropped down into the village. The beach is small but pretty. Bus stop just outside the site. We used the bus most days.
Perfect short stay

First holiday in our Campervan
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Campervan Pitches Jul 2024 We had a lovely stay here, campsite is spotless and well maintained. Showers, toilets and washing up facilities were always spotless.
Staff were friendly. We used the bus service a couple of times to take the stress out of parking in Barnstable and Ilfracombe, which was £2 each journey.
We chose to go Mackerel fishing and that was a highlight of our holiday. Lots of nice places to eat out at Ilfracombe. Great path into Ilfracombe via the costal path.
Compact pod in a great location with lovely staff
Glamping Cabin - Studio Pod Jul 2024 Compact pod in a great location with lovely staff. A few coat hooks would be useful, as it was wet and would have been good to hang coats up. The pod was small but fine and had a small kitchen and en-suite, so was great for a short stay. The local beach was an easy walk away and the local pub had a good variety of food and nice staff.
My stay at Hele Valley
VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Campervan Pitches Jun 2024 The site was really good. On arrival at reception, I was given lots of information to make my stay enjoyable. The pitches were excellent and well laid out. The only minor criticism I had was that the shower head on the showers were about seven feet up the wall, and by the time the water reached me, it was quite cool. Everything else was excellent.
Brilliant stay, excellent site
Glamping Cabin - Studio Pod with Hot Tub Jun 2024 Just had a 3 night stay in 'Conkers' (the studio pod with a hot tub) and had a thoroughly great time. The pod itself in superbly equipped with everything you need for a much longer stay than ours. Full kitchen, fridge, bathroom facilities and the team even included extras like an iron, hairdryer, foil, washing up liquid/sponges etc and biscuits! The hot tub is a great addition and felt very clean. The site itself is very well kept, clean and tidy, and the staff are great. Would definitely stay again.
The site itself is around 20 mins from Ilfracombe harbour, which is quite a hilly walk both ways (up and down). It is actually only 5 mins from Hele beach, a charming, quiet spot with a licenced café and beach.

Glamping Cabin - Studio Pod with Hot Tub Jun 2024 Such a lovely little stay for my partner and I for a couple days, the cabin was fantastic and my partner certainly loved the hot tub!
I would say if you're planning to stay longer than a couple of days, the laundry facilities are separate so just something to consider for when you're choosing.
At £90 a night, for what we got was a steal. We will be back!
Short 4 day break
Large Tent - Large Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2024 Absolutely brilliant camp and staff. All the facilities so clean, think probably the best camp I've stayed on. Will definitely going back but for a longer stay.

The facilities were immaculate and the staff very friendly and very helpful.
Walking distance from a little beach, which had a fantastic cafe. There is also a Spar shop on route to the beach.
The toilet/shower block were immaculately clean and very modern. You have a code to get in which means only campers can use.
Pitch was big and serviced. The site itself was well maintained trained and a children's area for young and older children. Warm welcome when we arrived. Lovely and dark at night time, not too brightly lit.
Loved our time here chilling. Just what we needed after coming from a very large campsite. Just wish we were there longer!
Great site thoughtful facilities

About a mile from Ilfracombe easy walk along the road or a slightly longer route and hilly along the coastal path but worth it for the views. Great site with thoughtful additional facilities like a dog washing station and wet suit washing. Great toilet and shower facilities nice and clean. Although the weather was cold for June and the rain arrived later in the week we still had a great time!
Just back home from this gem of a site
Motorhome - Large Fully Serviced Touring and Motorhome Pitches Jun 2024 What a lovely site this is! The grounds are kept very well and we had a warm welcome when we checked in.
Toilet/shower block is very clean and well looked after. If you want peace and quiet, this is for you. Just a shame about the rain at times but this didn't spoil it for us 😊

Large Tent - Large Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2024 Everything was spotless, great facilities but could perhaps benefit from a small shop offering produce from the local area and other camping groceries such as ice, charcoal, newspapers, local ciders/beers etc.

VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Campervan Pitches Jun 2024 Very clean facilities and well kept pitches, including some lovely flowers. All staff the were friendly and polite. One staff member was particularly helpful, they even got the morning newspaper to us. I think his name is Chris.

Access Twin Axle Caravan - Large Fully Serviced Touring and Motorhome Pitches Jun 2024 I think the campsite should have informed us that the accessibility to this site is very tight. There is a sign installed by the council informing the road is unsuitable for long vehicles, this I discovered at my cost.
If you get the entrance end of the park you may need a taxi to get access to the facilities at the other end. The village is very run down and the only shop is a garage that is expensive.
The cottage at the far end of the site does do breakfast, but to our embarrassment, you've got to book 2 days ahead.
After all the negative comments, I must say the staff are very helpful and polite, and it is very clean and maintained. A small shop/café would not go amiss as it is a lovely spot.

Great location and great facilities, would go again
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Campervan Pitches Apr 2024 We stayed in a campervan (2 adults, 2 kids) in April, found the place easily and it's within walking distance of good shops and a lovely beach at Hele Bay. The pitch was well equipped with electric hook-up, water, a dog washing station (also useful for kids with muddy feet!), dish washing area and the shower/toilet rooms were clean and spacious with plenty of privacy. Lots of lovely walks nearby and we found kayaking, pony trekking, a great honey farm attraction and other stuff without even needing to book in advance.
The only reason I'm giving the facilities 3 stars is that it's pretty inconvenient from the point of view of a holiday maker looking for a lie-in and leisurely start to the day with lunch at camp before going out (not asking much right?) that the entire shower/toilet/washing up etc block is closed from 11am to 1pm every day. And secondly, when you're in a place where both EE and O2 only get a floaty-in-and-out H+ signal, Wi-Fi is pretty important, but while there were loads of signals, we couldn't connect to them. Phones and laptops got stuck on "obtaining IP address", only the IT whizz amongst us could get his phone on and everyone had to hotspot off him, which was a pain.
Those aren't reasons not to go there, it's still worth it, especially considering how understanding they were about me mashing up their grass with the van like an idiot (sorry!!!). But just a couple of things to beware of and plan around so you don't get caught out.
