About the site

This family-run campsite is set in the Cornish countryside, just a ten minute walk from the beach and 15 minutes to Padstow. With lovely valley views and a relaxed, family feel, it's a great base for exploring the coast. There are a wide range of grass pitches to choose from, including non electric and 16 amp electric options. These spacious pitches vary in size, with many measuring around 10m x 10m and allowing up to eight people, while extra large 16m x 11m pitches allow up to ten. For roof tents, trailer tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes, there are also hardstanding and hardstanding with grass pitches. These include 16 amp electric and fully serviced options. If you want to go glamping, there are cosy cabins sleeping up to two people. Each cabin includes a king size bed with bedding, a kitchen with a combi-microwave/oven, sink and hob, ensuite bathroom, heating, TV and a private outdoor space with seating, a fire pit and even a wood-fired hot tub for relaxing evenings. There are also safari tents sleeping up to five people, complete with a king size bed, a double and a single bunk, with bedding and towels provided. Inside, there is a dining area and electric, while outside you'll find a veranda, seating and a fire pit, perfect for enjoying the fresh air. Guests staying in the safari tents have access to shared facilities nearby, including a communal kitchen with individual fridges, bathrooms with showers and toilets, and a shared dining space with BBQ areas, ideal for those travelling as a group. The onsite farm is a real highlight, with animals to meet including alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs and ponies, plus a play area and trampolines for children to enjoy. There are also indoor spaces with toys and books, giving families plenty to do whatever the weather. Food and drink is a big part of the experience here, with a cafe, bar and restaurant serving a range of tasty options throughout the day (March to October). From breakfasts and smoothies to wood-fired pizzas, BBQ feasts, smash burgers and loaded fries, there is always something delicious on offer, along with regular live music and fun evening events. Dogs are welcome too, with up to two allowed per pitch. There is a dog exercise area as well as a washing station, making it easy to keep muddy paws clean after a day at the beach. Fire pits and BBQs are welcome, as long as they are raised off the ground. You can also hire fire pits from the reception, with firewood available to purchase. A note from the site themselves...

Back in 2020, we took a big step and made Macdonald's Farm our home, tucked away in the breathtaking landscape of North Cornwall. We're a lively crew - Nick, Lisa, Sophia, Finn, and our ever-energetic dog Jessie. Since settling in, the gang has grown a bit, with plenty more animals now part of the mix!

While Cornwall wasn't always home, it's long held a special place in our hearts - especially for Nick, who spent many childhood holidays here. We'd always imagined a life by the coast: morning swims, fresh sea air, and creating a place where others can slow down, switch off, and feel at ease.

Our aim is simple: we want to share what makes Cornwall so special. From great local food and wild, beautiful scenery to friendly faces and relaxed days, we want you to enjoy it all, with BBQs very much encouraged!

We feel incredibly lucky to be part of this wonderful community, and even more so to call the farm home. We've poured a lot of care into making it our own while holding onto its original charm, and we truly believe it's become something quite special.
