Social District is a beautifully positioned, back to nature base for camping with exclusive direct access to Lake Windermere. Boasting non electric pitches and a stretch of lake frontage, it's a few minutes drive from local restaurants, near the YMCA's fun activities and ideal for joining the Windermere ferry. Ten minutes from the National Trust's Hill Top and set beside an English Heritage museum.

A very basic site with just 4 portaloos and a water tap but it's everything you need. The location is stunning and if you're lucky, you can camp right on the lake edge, a stones throw if not. We were able to take our kayak out straight from the site and our dogs loved it. Firewood is easy to come across or you can buy it there. Cannot recommend enough. The only thing I would say is that the only shop nearby is a basic farm shop which is lovely but pretty expensive, so it's best to get everything beforehand.

Lovely spot right by the water, lots of space and dog friendly!! The people who run it were lovely too. Basic facilities with just a portaloo and a tap, would be great to have a sink to wash hands and brush teeth in too.
