Wholesome weekend

Highly recommend this campsite. Just returned from a 2 night break at Middlehills with my family of 5. An amazing site, with clean facilities including toilets, very hot showers and pot washing rooms. Great for the kids with the animals they can see and a great wooden play area too! They have a shop which supplies produce from the local area and other bits too! A great Aladdin's cave! A pub only 20 minutes walk away through the fields! We will be returning that's for sure!

Stay for two days

The stay was ok. Would have been better if there was a way of making hot drinks, maybe a kettle in the hut. The double bed was not of good standard. As we came at the start of June, the hut was very cold. A long walk in the night to the toilets. But otherwise, a friendly atmosphere, basic shop, a good walk to the nearest pub.

Site's response

Unfortunately, there is no electric at the pod therefore it is advised in the description the you bring your own cooking facilities, as is there no heating, but this is reflected in the price and the facilities are only a short walk away. Not sure about the sofa bed, we will have to try it but had no other complaints. Perhaps you could have booked a more luxury pod with full facilities included?

Amazing site

This is such a great site, the kids loved just running around and getting wet in the swamp! The bar onsite is great, with really nice food and friendly staff. The cafe on site is great and reasonably priced. The farm shop is really good with lots of variety. A really good family site and great local area, will defo return again.

Nice clean campsite

We really enjoyed our stay at Middlehill's Farm, the staff were really friendly, we had an electric pitch and we had a gazebo too. Toilets and showers were clean, 2 toilets near field with electric, another bigger toilet block round the corner. Showers were fine but felt the were expensive at 20p per minute. I needed 5 mins to wash my hair. A nice little shop on site that sold almost everything you could need, from ice-cream to camping stoves. If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here.

Great family site, would recommend

Lovely site, especially if you have kids. Check-in took less than a minute and we were advised to pitch up pretty much wherever we liked on one of two fields. The facilities were spotlessly clean throughout our visit. I had my five year-old son with me and he absolutely loved the kids play area. I really can’t fault the value for money.

Fantastic break

We had a lovely weekend break at Middlehills farm. The field was lovely, well maintained and very easy to find our spot. The staff were super helpful too, very friendly. We struck lucky with the weather which was a bonus and all campers were lovely which was great. All amenities were kept clean and useable. Showers were lovely and hot, 20p per minute, we just stuck £1 in. The showers round the back of the farm give you a minute extra before the showers start which was great as we could put the money in then get undressed in the cubicle before the 5 mins started, plenty of time to have a wash. Chickens roamed which we thought was lovely and the park area looked fantastic for the kids. Shop was well stocked with everything you needed and all in all we loved every minute. Will definitely be returning soon.

Lovely campsite

We had a lovely time staying at this site - all of the facilities were really clean and we had a lot of space for the kids to run around and there was a play area too. There was a shop and also a fridge freezer to store food - which was really useful for us on such a hot weekend. Great to be so close to Bakewell and Matlock (by car) too.

Road trip to Donington

A really nice, well kept site, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside with very friendly staff.

Great campsite.

Not too much around it, but nice to just chill and have some peace and quiet. Will be looking at coming back again.

First camping trip for a 13 year old

First time camping in a while, really enjoyed it. Even our 13year old son enjoyed it, will be back again for definite.

Lovely weekend break, onsite shop was a god send. The hens onsite joined us for breakfast, which was great and entertaining.

Good site with large pitches

Good site. Small shop with everything you need, toilets are clean, good park for children and large pitches.

Lovely campsite

It was an amazing expedition into camping again. The receptionist was super friendly & helpful. Fantastic location, easy to find, great views, brilliant family facilities, everywhere was clean & tidy with brilliant services from camp shop. Showers, toilets all clean and fresh. My only issue was with very inconsiderate campers in next field right behind me. Loud conversations & noise from 10pm through to 5am. That's out of the hands of the camp itself. But I would highly recommend this campsite. It's perfect for singles and families looking for a great tranquil getaway ❤️

Great campsite, would love to come again

Great campsite with very nice owners. Separate gents and ladies toilets and separate shower blocks. Shop on site with a great selection of foods, fire pits available to rent for £20. Nice and close to Bakewell and Matlock Bath.

Very nice campsite

Very nice stay - kids had a great time. The shop is as good as any I've seen and the team were so helpful. The play facilities for the young ones were great and the site itself well tended. Showers and toilets cleaned every day to a good standard. Would stay again.

Fantastic, relaxed and family friendly

What a lovely site. Liz and everyone there were very kind and friendly. There was plenty of space and you could pitch up anywhere. The park was massive- better than most council parks and it was lovely having Pickle the pig nearby and the horses coming to say hello, plus the chickens roaming around everywhere. The shop was small, but well stocked and we could even buy a sleeping bag for grandad who had forgotten his. Facilities were always clean and well stocked. Would definitely recommend to others.

Gem of a campsite

Beautiful campsite. Welcomed on arrival. Facilities are fab. The hottest showers I have ever experienced on a campsite, absolutely fantastic. Toilets and other facilities are cleaned regularly and to a high standard. Small shop stocks local produce, (amongst other handy goods) my personal favourite was the lamb and mint steaks. Recycling bins available and hot ash dispensing. Lovely play area for the kids, a personal favourite of my daughter who spent many a happy hour socialising there. Super area for a base camp with Dovedale, Bakewell and Matlock short drive away. We booked last minute to make the most of the summer spell and so glad we did. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. Big shout to Carolyn and Kevin who are very present at the shop and on site keeping the place beautiful, clean and tidy.

Great spot, beautiful scenery, kid friendly

Beautiful views and plenty of space to choose from during our stay in the school holidays. Kid friendly - kids loved the play park, petting the friendly pig and its only a 5 minute drive away from Gullivers Kingdom (theme park). Shop on site carried a good variety of everything and staff were accomodating and friendly. Would definitely come again. Only small suggestion would it be great to have a small onsite cafe/food van.

Great value for money, beautiful surroundings, lots of space. We really loved our trip!

Brilliant site

2 night stay

Our first time camping as a family with a 10 year old and 7 year old. We absolutely loved it, the site is welcoming, very well kept site where you can feed the pig and the chickens are running round. Great adventure play park that kept the kids amused.Showers are clean, you need 20p for 1 minute which was fine for a quick wash. You can hire a firepit which was great to toast marshmallows on at night and you can have BBQs. Plenty of beautiful walks to do in the area and a short drive from Bakewell. We will definitely be returning.

Pod

Lovely stay at Middlehills Farm Campsite. The grounds were immaculate, the pod was lovely and we had a great time here. Even had a visit by a chicken!

Excellent site

Excellent site and facilities that were well maintained. Seem very friendly. One very small thing - could do with something in the showers to put your soap or whatever in. .

Fun, friendly site

On arrival, everything was clearly set out where to go to check in. Site was clean and well kept, the park was brilliant. Staff were friendly and approachable, the shop was amazing and had almost everything you could need!
