About The View Campsite

This family-friendly meadow site offers panoramic views of the stunning Isle of Purbeck and beyond. With over 14 acres, guests have plenty of space to pitch their tents and enjoy the natural surroundings. While the campsite is a peaceful retreat, it's also conveniently located with Wareham and Poole just over 10 minutes away and within a half-hour drive of some of the area's best-known beaches, including Lulworth Cove, Swanage, Durdle Door, Bournemouth, and Sandbanks. Ideal for tents only, you have the freedom to choose your own pitch from several beautiful fields, each offering a memorable experience. Each pitch has a maximum of six people. If you don't want to pitch a tent, stay in a four person bell tent or tipi and bring everything your normally would, except the tent of course! All pitches are within walking distance to bespoke up-cycled toilet units, ranging from eco-friendly to flushing, and a couple of quirky showers on site as an added extra. It's a wildlife haven, with many birds and wild deer roaming the fields. The owners, Cathy and Kate, are passionate about preserving the site's natural beauty and offer all-natural camping meadows where guests can immerse themselves in the Dorset countryside. Sometimes the site hosts activities, including a communal firepit for guests to chat with fellow campers, listen to local musicians, or attend a meditation session or nature talk. On occasion, there are homemade pizza evenings, adding to the social atmosphere. Dogs are welcome for an additional cost here, but please note there are farm animals and wildlife on site.

A note from the site themselves...

"It was always my childhood dream to own a small farm right in the very heart of beautiful Dorset looking out towards Lulworth Cove, Corfe Castle the stunning Purbeck hills, which I love" says Cathy.

It has taken over 30 years so far, and with the help of my family that "The View" has evolved, we are continually tree-planting woodland schemes, hedging, landscaping, pond and lake creations and wildflower projects all designed to attract birds, butterflies, and wildlife of every kind.

"My passion is to help people reconnect with nature, re-energise, and nurture their souls and wellbeing, creating a place of paradise for nature, wildlife, animals and people of all ages. Providing a place of happiness, love, learning, experience and belonging!" says Kate.

A deep sense of being truly welcomed is always felt and is the motto at 'The View'. It is a pleasure for Kate and Cathy to welcome people back again and again and to watch children grow and experience simpler nature-based joys making friends and running together in the meadows.

By creating this beautiful diverse site you cannot only enjoy the dawn chorus, but also choose your own area to pitch, to be tranquil private and quiet, or instead enjoy more vibrant companionship and fun projects and events at the barn, (bring instruments, join in bring friends) you will be made so welcome. The Dream. The View, is now a reality, and we would love you to come and be part of our journey!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023

Lovely, family-run eco campsite. We booked a medium tent for couple of nights, were greeted at the arrival and explained everything by the very friendly owner. You can choose your own pitch. Campsite is not expensive, clean and well managed. Dogs are welcomed. I think we liked everything about it. There was a music night we really enjoyed, nice people around, beautiful views and location about 15 - 20 mins from the seaside. Huge credit to the owners (Kathy and her daughter) who made this place very special. We will definitely recommend it!

A wonderful experience!

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023

We would 100% recommend this campsite! It is so much more than just a campsite. The two ladies, Cathy and Kate, are wonderful human beings who care so much about each camping group and obviously love what they do. The "barn" came alive every evening with a little jam session welcoming anyone and everyone to join if they were up for it; fiddles, guitars, squeeze box and percussion…and home cooked curry. Wow. Wonderful vibe! The kids loved visiting the sheep, goats and chicken. Facilities were clean and showers were warm. Owls were hooting at night time. We'll definitely be back! Thank you both!
