About Pop-Up Woods and Meadows Campsite

Set across 20 acres of land in the High Weald AONB, this site offers a dog friendly, relaxed and off grid camping experience. Be greeted with a glass of Pimms as you find your pitch, set up camp and just simply relax! Children are free to run around, play and make friends as adults cook up something tasty on the fire pit. The site has three meadows where you can self pitch your tent or campervan or choose to hire one of the bell tents. There are also woodland pitches on offer too, here you can also hire a hammock or bring your own for a more 'wild' experience! Pitches are spacious and kept private to avoid feeling on top of one another! Surrounded by nature and wildlife, guests can truly relax and soak in the tranquillity of being out in nature, whether that be under one of the 'chill out' structures or being brave and having a dip in the stream! Guests are also able to pre book homemade pizzas to enjoy at their pitch. Only a 15 minute drive to central Hastings and Pett Level beach, for days spent splashing in the sea and building sandcastles. Drive a bit further afield to Battle, perfect for history lovers with the site of the Battle of Hastings and the Abbey. Another must is hiring a paddle board from the site and going down River Rother with the family. Please note that the camping areas are car free. Wheelbarrows are provided in the car park to help you transport your gear, or you can book a bell hop service for a warden to pick you up on one of the quads to take you to your pitch. Campfires are allowed with fire pits available for every pitch, plus buckets to extinguish them. Guests are able to add logs onto their booking, or purchase whilst onsite. The site has permission for campers to forage for small fallen timber for kindling only. Dogs are welcome onsite as long as they are kept under control. The site is more than happy to welcome groups and create set areas with pitches or bell tents together.

Open on weekends only from May until 22nd July, and then seven days a week through July and August.

Facilities and amenities

There are both compost loos and traditional toilets across the site, hot showers and designated washing gup areas next to drinking water points. The site provides paraben free washing up liquid. The site is off grid so there is no WiFi.

Fire pits are available for every pitch as well as buckets to help extinguish them in the evening. Logs can be purchased from the site, or campers can forage for small fallen timber to act as kindling. There are also covered 'chill out' areas campers can book out.

There are ducks and chickens onsite as well as vegetable and flower gardens. On Fridays there is pizza available to pre order.

There is a village store a five minute drive away and for meals out there is the Conquerors March pub, a 30 minute walk from site or a five minute drive.

A note from the site themselves...

We love the ever-changing shape of the Woods and Meadows. Un-spoilt, a natural environment teeming with healthy wildlife and farm life. We're passionate about putting energy back into the ground, with our no-dig veg patch and cut flowers and our recently planted fruit trees.

We leave meadows wild to encourage insects and bees. We want all living things animal and human to be able to feed off the land to fill belly and soul.

We hope to welcome you soon!
