Excellent, lovely owners and very peaceful

Excellent. Lovely owners, very helpful. Cleanest toilets and showers we've seen so far. Great to have the BBQ, coffee van and fish & chips visiting the site. All good value. Very peaceful. Pretty sure we'll be back.

First stay at Oakmoor

We are very pleased with our stay. We were met by friendly, welcoming owners who are more than happy to help. The shower facilities are excellent. The site is clean tidy and very peaceful. We are looking forward to returning.

Lovely site

This site was kept clean and very well maintained, owners so polite and helpful, one of the quietest I've been on. It's in beautiful surroundings, will definitely stay again, Derek.

Very welcoming and friendly

Nice quiet pitch. The cleanliness would put most motorway services to shame. Monday nights, Fairy Codmother visit meant enjoyable, cooked to order meals. The hosts are friendly and helpful. It's nice to see the stars at night properly. Electric hook-ups are plug and go, not like some where you have to press buttons which don't seem to match up.

Outstanding, would recommend and would book again

This was a real gem of a find, from the warm welcome until the end of our week. Thoroughly enjoyed the amenities, and the peace and quiet. Well-kept level pitches and spotlessly clean facilities. Thank you both for a lovely holiday.

A great campsite

One of the most friendly and best kept campsites I have stayed at.

Peaceful, friendly, great location

Lovely welcome, very friendly. Beautiful, peaceful campsite. Great location to Dartmoor, local pubs and the coast. Loved the Friday BBQ and Saturday coffee & breakfast van. The site shop has local cider, beers and biscuits, great for someone from Sydney, Australia who wants to try the local produce. Bathrooms very clean. We will highly recommend Oakmoor to our English and Australian families & friends.

Good, all-round site

Site was in a good location. We had a lot of rain but the site drained well and it did not become a problem. Facilities very clean. Only criticism would be that I felt the tent pitches were too close together.

A little piece of heaven in Devon

This site is the place to be for total relaxation. It is beautifully quiet, no traffic sounds, no loud music, just other holiday makers looking to get away from it all. The facilities are second to none, the cleanest we have experienced, as is the whole site. It is obvious that Debbie and Alan take great pride in what they do, and they really are a wonderful, welcoming couple. We were made to feel like family popping in for a visit. They have put their heart and soul into making your stay as relaxing as can be, and the coffee van and BBQ are an unexpected delight. We will definitely be returning to this little gem.

Superb campsite

A gem of a campsite especially for older campers. Surrounded by trees. Excellent toilet and shower facilities. Even a freezer in the pot washing room! A really helpful couple in charge. Thank you Alan and Debbie. We will be back next year to explore more of Dartmoor.

Peaceful

So glad this is adult only. From the start, you receive a warm welcome to a tranquil relaxing and peaceful site. The atmosphere eases you into your holiday. Facilities are spotless and mobile catering, Monday was fish and chips, Friday BBQ. Brilliant, will be returning and highly recommend.

Such a clean site

First of all, you are greeted by the owners who are so lovely and helpful. It's a gated access with a fob and £10 cash left for a deposit, our pitch was lovely and big, the toilets and showers are so clean. There is a washing up facility as well, which is very clean and tidy, the owners really look after this site. It's very peaceful and we were lucky to see an eagle and sitting on a fence. We visited a few places during our stay. There is a pub 20 minutes away by foot selling lovely food. I would stay here again, it's very nice.

Wonderful campsite, would 100% recommend!

We stayed at this campsite for two nights and it was absolutely lovely, wonderful and accommodating, and the area was amazing.

Lovely location, really relaxing

Lovely site, lovely owners, great service. Only 2 negatives for us, nowhere on site to let the dogs off the lead, although there is a bridleway at the end of the track (not somewhere I wanted to walk late at night of course) so not a major problem, just our springers like to do 'their business' off lead - country boys 🤣🤣🤣. Second issue, the track leading up to the site is rough and uneven, likely worse for us as it seems the damper on our van packed up and the potholes really didn't help.

We stayed 7 nights

We booked 7 nights and enjoyed everything about this touring park. The toilet facilities were excellent and very clean. It is adults only, which suited me and my wife, and it is also dog friendly and yes, very quiet. Thank you.

First time stopover

Wanted a good site to test our new van and this site did not disappoint. Quiet, well laid out with fabulous shower and toilet block. Lovely walk to a super local pub as well. Overall, an excellent site.

A quality touring site

This is a great little touring site. The facilities are spotlessly clean. The site is well maintained with good size pitches. The owners are really friendly and made us feel welcome. The site is a short walk from the Claycutters Arms which also provides a warm welcome good beer and quality food. It’s a 1.5 mile walk in to Bovey Tracey where there are local shops, restaurants and pubs. Well worth a visit.

Short stay

A lovely, well laid out site. Excellent facilities and spotlessly clean. A warm welcome at reception and only £26 for the night. The only drawback were the potholes on the approach lane that could do with attention, but would happily stay again.

Thank you for giving us a great review. It is really appreciated and means so much to Allan & I I understand the concern about the track leading to the campsite. We don't own the track. It is owned by a mining company who subleases the surrounding land including the track to a charity. We have asked permission to tarmac the road but the charity has refused. We continually fill in potholes with road planning. This has to be done when there is dry weather. Of late we haven't had any and in fact we had a months rain in 6 hours last week. We are hoping to meet with the charity CEO over the winter to see if we can get the decision changed. We will continue to maintain the track and through most of the season, the track is fine.

A beautiful and peaceful site

This site is beautifully maintained, the ablutions are the best I’ve seen. The owners are great and very attentive. The site is very peaceful and tranquil. We stayed an extra night and would definitely stay there again.

Brilliant

It's a shame that other sites can't follow the cleaning system and standard of Oakmoor. It should be a 10+

Fantastic campsite

So friendly and welcoming. Campsite, toilets and showers are very nice and clean. A coffee van came a couple of mornings, lovely coffee and croissants and a van came serving fish and chips which was great 😁 Literally 5 minutes from Dartmoor National Park. Also not far from the village either. Felt like we could've stayed extra days, we would definitely recommend and we will definitely be going back.

Great place to stay, electric hook-up and clean bathrooms

Little nice campsite with very clean bathrooms. The owners are very supportive and help you find nice places close by. The great advantage for this site was that every place had its own electric hook-up. This is so convenient. In the morning there was a coffee and breakfast service. We also had the luck to enjoy the BBQ from a local farmer.

Great site

Lovely site with very clean toilets and showers. It had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The showers and toilet facilities were 5 star and exceptionally clean. I would recommend staying here if you want a site that is quiet and clean. The only one negative is that it rained heavily and our awing got flooded, but that couldn't be helped. The staff were friendly and helpful.
