About the site

Hidden away in the fields and meadows surrounding a working farm, this campsite offers a peaceful base from which to explore Norfolk. Ideal for the whole family with spacious fields to play in or simply sit back and unwind and spot wildlife around your pitch. The site is run by husband and wife duo, Ryan and Hannah, their two spaniel and their baby! Simple camping with grass pitches with either a 16 amp electric hook up or no electric. Pitches measure a spacious 10m x 10m. Situated next to a small working cattle farm, there is often a view of the beautiful Lincoln Reds when they're grazing in the front meadow. The site's central location is perfect for visiting many of the county's top attractions, and the amazing coastline is just 45 minutes away. The site is just a short walk to the River Wensum which makes a lovely stroll with views of meadows and churches. Well behaved dogs are welcome, for the comfort of other campers and the nearby cows. Owners are reminded to keep their pups on leads. Ground fires and electric BBQs are not permitted, but fires and BBQs in raised fire pits are. The site has fire pits to hire with logs and kindling to purchase, please note that fuel must be purchased onsite.

"The owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We will certainly be back!"

A note from the site themselves...

A warm hello! We are Ryan and Hannah, a married couple who took over the management of this beautiful site in May 2024. In January 2023, whilst in a local pub, the question of whether we fancied running a campsite was put to us.

Ryan sold it to Hannah as an opportunity to have her much desired herd of runner ducks and vegetable gardens, and Hannah thought it would be good for Ryan to spend more time away from his desk and be outside. So they both said "alright then, deal", and the rest is history. (We are yet to have ducks, have only grown rhubarb thus far and Ryan is still on the computer a lot.)

Our backgrounds have given us a bunch of useful skills, including marketing, sales, hospitality and customer service. By trade, we are a Web Developer and a Speech and Language Therapist. We share the 8-acre site with our two sweet Cocker Spaniels, Frieda and Ethel. They are pure joy, and we love them very much, although Frieda can be a bit sassy!

In March 2025, we welcomed our beautiful baby into the world, and we think she is going to love growing up here. She is already a big fan of looking at all the trees! Making this site a laid-back, friendly, nature loving, peaceful place are our top priorities. We have oodles of ideas to make this special place even lovelier, and we can't wait to share it with you all!

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesOct 2025

Lovely little site. Warm helpful welcome from a lovely lady. Picked our pitch which was very good. Clean toilets and showers. Very nice hot water at sink and washing up area. Freshly cut grass. New swing set on the park. Lovely area to meet up in the middle of the field. Nice honesty shop. For milk, shower gel, firewood etc. If they would like to continue further to make 5 stars - there could be hand towels in the bathrooms, maybe an electric socket in shower area for hairdryers and maybe move storage vans to a separate area to keep it looking tidy. Only thing we didn't like was the dog running around loose, think it was another campers dog, I am always worried of stray dogs barking at you. Very nice laid out site.

Great weekend but site could do with some TLC

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Needs tidying up and some TLC. Toilet and showers not enough of and lots of junk laying around. Staff very friendly and the pub down the road was great.

Friendly family run site

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

As first time campers, I was really pleased with this site - the reception was very welcoming and friendly with a great information leaflet provided. The assigned pitch was perfect for us - quiet and away from family groups which is what I had asked for. The honesty shop on site came in very handy for ice creams during the heatwave and the local village shop stocking foods and other essentials is a short walk away (less than 2 miles round trip), the pub is also next door, which is a bonus! The fire pit hire is a brilliant idea for toasting marshmallows or just chilling out and stargazing. Only negative really was a lack of hot water - but the owners were very apologetic and to be honest, a cool shower really isn't the end of the world. They kept the toilets and showers as clean as they could however, as with any shared facilities you are at the mercy of other campers and some questionable habits, which are not the owner's fault. Wi-Fi was also very patchy which for me, was not a problem but if you have teenagers or need your social media fixes, just be aware.. Overall, lovely site run by lovely people, great value and a good spot off the beaten track, great location for walking and getting away from it all, with Norwich Park and Ride services a short drive away.
