Clear filters My stay
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 Well thought out campsite with excellent showers.
Only downside was a 6.00am wake up due to flying lessons starting at next door airfield (approximately 100m from my head!). Also, Google maps stopped working while I was trying to find it, which meant a few wrong turns, a simple map being available would have helped.

Perfect
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 Stayed for two nights and it was perfect for us.
Close to Silverstone which was why we were there. Pitches were well kept and tidy, paths leading to patches well maintained and no rubbish anywhere.
Toilet facilities were outstanding.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 Shame about the weather this weekend, as we know we'd have had a fab time if it hadn't have been raining most of the time we were there.
However, we made the most if it and hope to come back in the future as the campsite was lovely. For us, just the right size, not too big or too small. We loved how the area was put into little sections so you felt like you had your own space, and having a firepit and picnic table in each section was great.
The toilet and shower block (4 of each) was really nice, well lit, dry, clean, well stocked (toilet roll, hand soap/lotion) etc. Only thing we didn't like about the toilets was that you could hear other people going over the wooden wall, but not a massive thing.
The surroundings looked nice, and we heard owls hooting at night. Seeing planes, gliders and skydivers from the airfield next door was fun too. Close to lots of other things - due the weather we ended up driving to get McD's and Dominoes, also visiting Tesco's and Sainsbury's for supplies - all pretty close by (by car). We also visited Upton House for a day activity, which was less than 30mins drive and well worth it.
Wheel barrows to get all your bits to and from your car was very helpful. There were already people in the section we were meant to be in when we arrived but both sections in front were empty so we just went in one of those, which we were happy with.

Great little site Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 Ideal place to stop if you're going to Silverstone. Local pubs nearby as well as large supermarket. Nice to have a picnic table and firepit to use.

Great little campsite
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023 What a great little campsite with each pitch feeling private and well spaced out. Nice to have a picnic table on each pitch and we enjoyed a fire in the fire pit provided. Good eco credentials and the toilets were lovely and clean.
We will definitely visit again 😊

Camping with friends
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2023 Good location and we enjoyed going to the airfield to watch the skydivers.
The site was great, we were a party of 3 families and had one of the cluster of three pitches and had plenty of space.
Facilities were good, it has everything you need for a camping trip.

Disappointed Jun 2023 I was massively disappointed with this site. The place looked beautiful & appealed to us for the local walks & pubs near by. We didn't want to be driving during our stay.
This turns out not to be the case for us. We had to walk 30 mins to the nearest pub which was fully booked for food when we got there. There were absolutely no signs to assist us in finding the pub. We did call the site manager for directions. However, not being local to the area and being told we to just head in 'that direction' wasn't helpful.
We ended up having to drive to a pub in order to eat. The following morning, the 'local' or 'on site café' couldn't be easily found so, we scrapped that idea due to the frustration of trying to find it & opted to drive into Banbury. All in all very disappointing & not a campsite I will be returning to.
Toilets were well maintained but, we had a neighbouring tent at the side of us who thought it okay to play his music loud all day! There should be more emphasis on etiquette which, I feel the site owners have a duty of care in dealing with.

I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay at our campsite, Andrea. If this was brought to our attention at the time and we could have directed you to the café which is located on the Airfield and dealt with any noisy campers and we can only apologise for this, as you aware all guests are asked to agree to our terms and conditions:
- Please keep amplified music to a minimum at all times, no amplified music from 9pm to 9am.
- Quiet hours must be respected between 11pm and 7am
- Please be respectful of other guests on site at all times
Maps to the local the pubs are pinned up in the wash block above the sinks for guests to take pictures of and use on their travels.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2023 Spent my birthday at a quiet and peaceful camping site. Walltree gave me memories and the airfield nearby is extraordinary.

Camping
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2023 We had a lovely stay, it was a very quiet campsite throughout the day, with great pitches and facilities.
The only problem we had were the other camping neighbours were very loud on the pitch next door until very early hours of the morning.
Other than that a great stay. Would come again, thank you :)

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2023 We found this site really welcoming, the couple who run the site came around each pitch and introduced themselves and asked if everything was ok. Really friendly couple.
The site was well set out and the pitches were easy to get to, facilities were kept clean at all times and the added entertainment of the sky divers from the airfield next door was great. We will definitely being going back for sure. It's not too far from a town where there are lots of supermarkets and shops if you need things.

Amazing stay (couple and a dog)
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2023 Perfect location if you want a peaceful stay in the countryside. The site was laid out really nicely and the facilities were great.
There are amazing walks to local towns & villages with brilliant dog friendly pubs.
Couldn't recommend more!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2023 My partner and I stayed for a long weekend in May and had a fantastic time. Beautiful scenery with lots of lovely walks located around the area. Right next to an active airbase, not too noisy to cause a nuisance and you get to watch the skydivers landing just next door.
Each pitch is mown into longer grass providing moderate seclusion from other campers, so you get privacy. Nearby pubs are very nice with many typical English villages (I recommend Deddington). Toilets and showers are clean and inviting, there are washing up facilities and logs/kindling readily available. Only downside is the firepits are a little small, we would've liked a slightly bigger fire, especially with the cold weather on the first night!
All in all, stay here!
