About the site

This quiet and friendly site benefits from amazing dark skies, great for stargazing. Nestled in a beautiful valley with a river running through the site, you'll find the village of Bamburgh just five minutes down the road. Complete with a coastal castle, golden sand dunes and beautiful beaches, there's plenty to explore. There are a range of grass pitches for tent campers, ranging in size from between 3.5m x 2m to 8m x 4.5m, allowing up to six guests. For caravans, campervans and motorhomes, there are also hardstanding pitches sized 3.5m x 2m up to 7.9m x 4.5m. Optional 16 amp electric hook ups are available too and can be added on at the time of booking. If your campervan or motorhome does not have side windows you will not be allowed access to the site. Please note that the site only allow rectangular tents - round, T or Y-shaped tents are not permitted. The largest pitches are the Super XXL grass pitches which allow tents up to 8m x 4.5m (excluding guy ropes), caravans up to 9m and motorhomes up to 10m long. If you want waterside views, the riverside pitches are located closest to the Waren Burn. There are also toilet blocks at each end of the campsite so your nearest facilities should be only a short walk away. Also, please note that campervans and motorhomes must have side windows to the rear sections ( in the side door or rear panels) to be allowed to pitch on-site. If your campervan or motorhome does not have side windows, you will not be allowed access to the site. If glamping is more your style, you can enjoy a stay in one of the glamping huts. The standard glamping huts include all of the basic essentials with a fridge, microwave, electric and private veranda, along with a communal kitchen. The two person huts have a double bed, whilst the four person huts have two sets of bunk beds. The Hill View huts enjoy great views of the whole campsite, each with inside seating, a private veranda and dedicated parking. A kettle, fridge and microwave are also included. The two person huts have a double bed and space for a travel cot, whilst the seven person huts have two rooms, the first has a double bed with a single bunk and a normal bunk bed plus a second room with a double bed. Please note, the huts do not include bedding, so you will need to bring your own along. Shared campsite toilets and showers are also nearby for those in the huts. There is a range of ensuite lodges (Aspen, Pine, Ash, and Silver Birch) that sleep two to six people. The lodges are fully equipped with a double bed, some also have a bunk bed or a twin room. Interiors include a kitchen with a kettle, fridge, microwave and hob, a sofa, storage and electric heating. Outside, you can enjoy a private seating area. Please bring your own bedding and toilet roll. Dogs can also join you for your stay, with up to two allowed per pitch and one in the huts and lodges. For those wanting to enjoy a spot of al fresco cooking, raised BBQs are permitted. Open fires are not allowed, sorry. The site also offers seasonal pitches for longer term stays. If you are looking for peace and quiet, the site operates a quiet policy from 10.30pm on weekdays, and 11pm Fridays and Saturdays. The play park is also closed between 8pm and 9am.

A note from the site themselves...

An escape from the chaos of day-to-day life, we offer a small slice of paradise located in a truly stunning area of natural beauty. Our site staff are friendly and attentive, with great knowledge of the local area and always looking to go the extra mile to enhance your stay.

We are a green site in every sense. Our power and hot water are from renewable energy, mostly generated on-site. We recycle or compost all waste, and we have many areas on site left to grow wild for our local wildlife, including red squirrels, several wild bee hives, herons and a visiting otter.

We operate as a dark sky site, providing breathtaking stargazing opportunities and even the occasional view of the Northern Lights. We hope to welcome you soon, Peter.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Medium Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2025

Really lovely place, lots of different kind of pitches and the staff were all great. Quiet and friendly. Mens showers could do with a refresh but it's a minor thing. Great place to remember for the future.

Nice site

VW-Type Campervan - XL Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2025

Staff are lovely and very helpful. Good facilities on site. The description says 5 mins walk from Budle Bay, which is technically true, but to get to the beach bit of Budle Bay it's more like 30-40min walk alongside a main road at times. Didn't seem to be a kitchen for campers to use, only for the huts, but may just have missed it. Showers are good as long as you're the only one using them! Play ground for the kids is great, onsite coffee and nearby pizza are both excellent.

Nice site, could do with a little bit of an upgrade

Large Tent - XL Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2025

Nice site if you are after peace and quiet. Amenities are basic but could do with a little TLC. Staff were friendly and helpful when we first arrived. Tried originally to book a pitch by the river but had run out, so accepted a pitch off river side, glade we did as we got the early evening sun which went down well and pitch was a decent size. Handy for Bamburgh, Seahouses and Berwick.
