VW-Type Campervan - Standard Plus Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2025

We booked very last minute and managed to get a three night stay. The campsite was easy to navigate with plenty of space available round the vehicle. The campsite is set in a wooded area with shower/toilet/kitchen facilities and a small shop. Very helpful staff and a good centre point for travelling to Bamburgh Castle and Holy Isle. We were lucky with the weather as it was glorious. The campsite was not at capacity so it was lovely and quiet in the evening. Would recommend for a stay.

Really good little campsite in a great location

VW-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2025

We had a great stay at Budle Bay Campsite for 2 nights on 5/7/25. The staff were really pleasant and helpful and were available on site throughout our stay. Its situated in a great location with easy access to Holy Island, Bamburgh and Seahouses. The site is maintained really well and the toilet and shower areas were very clean.

Budle bay was lovely. The facilities are great. The location is perfect. We walked for 4 miles to Ross bay. We had it all to ourselves. It was beautiful. The pizza was amazing and it's a great peaceful site. We look forward to returning again soon x

A wonderful weekend

First time campervanning and everything was perfect! Reception was helpful, pitch was perfect, toilets & shower block spotless. Play park for kids, pizza and coffee on site, beautiful walks, cannot wait to book again! Took a drive up to Lindesfarne which was amazing and Berwick which was pretty, you won't be disappointed in booking here ❤️

Medium Tent - XL Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2025

Great location for exploring the Northumberland coast. Friendly easy going style of site. Coffee shack and pizza place great added extras. Seems like extra facilities/ accommodation options are a work in progress but don’t impact on the site.

Well managed and friendly

Small Tent - Standard Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

This is a busy site that is very well managed by the staff who are most generous and dedicated in their response to their clients. We realised on arrival that caravans and camper vans are more numerous than tents (we stayed in a small tent, so the site was not quite our style). It is in a very interesting location with the Holy Island, Bamburgh castle and boat trips to the farne islands being particular highlights. Budle bay is great for bird watching, especially at low tide. We brought our bikes but we felt the nearby roads were not really bike friendly. (No criticism of the site, obviously!)

Site's response

We appreciate your comments and are glad that you have had a nice stay with us. I was interested in your comment regarding the balance between tents and other types units people stay bring here. We actually place no restrictions on what goes on a pitch as long as it fits on it and can get to it. So your observation, if true, is purely market driven. Incidentally, we are now one of the few sites locally that actually takes tents at all.

Great stay

We had a fantastic stay at the camp and loved every day there! The location is superb and allows you to travel to many places and also walk following coastal paths. The cafe that opens each morning is a bonus!

Lovely, well run campsite

Just a shame the pitch we were given only had a view of the toilet block.

VW-Type Campervan - Large Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

I would class this as a “work in progress” site. The staff are great…really welcoming and friendly. There’s a Pizza seller next to the site. Didn’t try one but heard they were good. There’s also a small coffee caravan at the entrance which makes a great coffee…. The toilets / showers / washing up area were okay. Not because of the campsite itself (the facilities were fine) but the others using the facilities not leaving it as you would want to find it. Each pitch is next to the entrance / exit track which means those driving around the site pass close by and as it’s a gravel track, leave dust in their wake. It was fine but don’t go there thinking this is a luxury site.

Well kept site in a beautiful location

VW-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Site was nicely laid out with plenty of room between pitches. Good waste and recycling set up. Showers, toilets and washing area regularly cleaned and plenty of drinking water taps spread around. Site secure with code operated barrier for entry and exit. Staff very friendly. The only negative thing was the site track was made up of varying sizes of stone, which made walking a little difficult.

I'd go again

Small Tent - Medium Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

It was a good experience; I'd go again. The welcome was warm and straight forward but with no fuss. Our pitch was quiet and level, with a gentle stream as mood music. Good to have recycling facilities. I was disappointed that the shop was not open more often, nor were there any opening times advertised.

Quiet, clean but pricey

Very large pitch. Toilets & showers very clean. Quiet. Roadways a bit rough. Very stony. Not pleasant to walk on. Thought it was pricey.

Small Tent - XL Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

8 showers in peak days is a bit tight. Old fridges and deep freezers out of use in the washing up space is not very stylish, neither the visible junkyard behind the bungalows. Bags with construction site, rubbish in river. Very quiet after 10 p.m.

Decent campsite no thrills

Glamping Cabin - Hill View Huts (Two Person)Jun 2025

Adequate campsite. Met most of our needs. The rough uneven stone towards shower block and loos need levelling. Curtains were shabby, torn and too thin and pale to provide shade from sun. Maybe more info on local eateries and attractions.

Site's response

Hi Kate. Thanks for your feedback. The curtains in all the huts are being phased out and shutters fitted. Making them is too noisy to do in peak season but we have put them on our 4 new, lodges with shower rooms and kitchens and they do completely black out the interior so by next season, if not before, all of our huts will have been changed to have them. We are looking at solutions to our gravel roads. Nothing firmed up yet but please be aware that we are looking at options that will work and are affordable to do; not being a massive corporate entity. Ask the staff about places to go and places to eat. They are knowledgeable.

Motorhome - Standard Plus Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Lovely clean, quiet site with helpful staff. The camp has hot showers, toilets, washing up facilities as well as electric hook-ups and Elsan points. King Kebab in Seahouses will deliver food if you are not in the mood to cook. Nice position close to Budle Bay, you can access the England Coastal route from the site and its an easy walk to Bambrough and to Seahouses if you want a longer walk. Its a short drive from Holy Island and the A1. The site was peaceful and quiet when we stayed.

Site's response

Hi Dave. Thank you for your review and very kind comments. Hope to see you again!

Great site right on the England Coast Path but slightly away from the sea in case you expected a sea view! Very clean. Helpful, cheery welcome.

Very lovely stay, staff were super friendly and helpful. Quiet times were enforced by staff, so noise wasn't an issue. We were able to get the local bus advertised in reception to local villages. Overall, would recommend. Thank you.

Couldn't have asked for a better stay. The only thing that would have made it a tiny bit better was a football area for the kids but there was loads of beach for that. Everything else was absolutely perfect

Site's response

Hi Jennifer. Thanks for leaving us such a lovely review!
