Excellent stay

We booked this site last minute on the day we were travelling to the area and were very impressed with the location, staff friendliness and facilities. Definitely want to return at some point in the future

pleasant 2 night stay. Check was great, a warm welcome by the owners who gave us directions around camp. great atmosphere around the fishing lake which appeared well stocked. will return again for sure.

Fantastic location and site

The site is perfect, location good, toilets and showers are spotless. the owner are really lovely, always on hand. Very trusting with a loyalty shop. The lakes are beautiful, love the pods surrounding the lake.

Cute place

The location is a bit far from the beach, the beach that is close is rocky but if you are lucky when is the flux water then it is sandy and quite lovely! The village is nice, can even find local honey to buy! The campsite is nice, quite large and lots of space between tents, this is very good to have space, not be squished! There are children playground, a dog play are to let the dogs out of leash( a big plus) some lakes where you can go fishing! The things I didn't like is that the shop is not having many options for food or there was not even a bottle of water to buy and you need cash or an application to pay by card! There is someone coming to sell inside the campsite some fish and chips and some food till 3pm I think! I didn't see any shops close that area also! Overall is good!

Thank you for your review. The shop is an emergency honesty shop, as the local village ( a 4min drive away) has a spar and corner shop selling everything. We accept either cash or card, which is standard way to pay for items. We have drinking water available onsite and we don't believe in selling plastic bottles, as we try to be as eco responsible as possible. you can simple fill up a bottle from the drinking tap. The local pub is open on a Saturday from 6pm - 8.30pm for food and only a 10min walk away. We are based in the country and as such don't have big shop etc near by. We are very much geared towards campers that enjoy getting away from the busy, hassle of life and just sit back relax and enjoy nature around you.

Excellent site

Brilliant little find. Great set up. Toilet and shower facilities were excellent. Lovely hot showers and clean too. The lakes were great to walk around. Jennifer and Gareth were really helpful with any queries I had. I'm a lone traveller and felt really safe here. I even booked an extra night. I will definitely be returning.

Fishing and hiking weekend

We spent a relaxing weekend at Burton Springs, and it was a wonderful experience. It’s a perfect spot for anglers and pet lovers alike. The site is located about 10 minutes from the Quantock hills. There was also a small playground for kids and some easy hiking trails accessible from the camp. It is perfect for a peaceful nature escape. The road was well-marked, and we had no trouble finding it. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. There were plenty of toilets and showers, and everything was stocked and in working order. Each campsite had a fire pit and a picnic table, and there was game room with fridge/freezer, DVD nearby. The campsite is very dog-friendly—there was an enclosed field for off lead time. There was even a doggie shower which was a thoughtful touch. As for fishing, the lake was quiet and well-maintained. I caught few carps over the weekend. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and gave great tips about the fish and spots. The campground was quiet at night, which made for great sleep. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Burton Springs for families or anyone looking for a calm, clean, and welcoming camping experience. The peaceful atmosphere, great fishing, and dog-friendly vibe made it a memorable trip. I’d highly recommend this campsite for solo campers, couples, or anyone looking to enjoy fishing without having to leave their furry friend behind.

Lovely family friendly campsite

We had a really lovely few nights stay. Weather was the only downside. The site is really easy to find. Arrived to a friendly welcome where the facilities were located and explained to us. Our pitch was easy to find and had a picnic bench. The site is very clean and tidy. Really child friendly, the playground and the game room were used a lot! Communal fridge/freezer facilities are great. The toilets and shower facilities were cleaned regularly and honestly thoroughly clean and tidy. The shop sells a few essentials, including ice creams which is great. We walked to the pebble beach nearby and it was a fairly easy walk. Great to explore. We had a great time and will definitely be returning! Might even try a spot of fishing next time if we are brave enough.

Fantastic

This site is worth every penny and more. There's a games room, shop with free tea and coffee, an off lead doggie walking area and all the usual amenities, definitely will be back. The guy who ran the place couldn't do enough for us, very helpful. If you like walking then this is a winner.

Beautiful tranquil and peaceful place to escape. Would definitely come back again and again.

3rd road trip

What a relaxing few days, staying in a Pod. Waking up to a beautiful view of 3 small lakes, some mad but funny ducks waddling around but all in all, if you want to just get away from things, this is the place to be. Would recommend and suggest to folks to have a look.

Such a nice space for kids to be free in. The couple that run the place are extremely lovely too.

Amazing! Brilliant in every way

Me and my buddy stayed here for May bank holiday weekend. From the get-go, we were amazed. The staff were superb, really knowledgeable. The facilities were super clean and the games room kept us entertained while we were waiting for our meals to cook. The fish pond is beautiful, we used the carp pond. Met a living legend - Garry, what a bloke! Amazing man and a pleasure to have met him, and his wife! If you're staying here and want to fish, ask if Garry is around and he is a book of knowledge when it comes to fishing. Everything at this campsite is of such ease, it really makes all the difference! Thank you to all the staff at Burton Springs Holidays, you all were really brilliant. We will be sure to book again in the very near future!

Lovely peaceful site

Nice site for a weekend break. We took our 2 dogs, who really enjoyed the dog play area. Great showers! Lovely fishing lakes to walk around. Walked to nearest village to get a few provisions from local shop. Had hoped to walk and have a meal at local pub, but unfortunately, closed on bank holiday Monday.

A really lovely place to stay with a young family and dogs

The facilities were very well maintained and well laid out. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. There were lots of dog toys and agility stations for the dogs to enjoy in the dog play area. The children enjoyed playing in park and also using the games room. We didn't have a microwave or freezer, so was glad there were free communal ones for us to use. Although this time none of us fished, the fishing facilities look top class.

Lovely facilities

The campsite was lovely with the lake and good clean facilities including a fridge, microwave, and kettle. There are also picnic tables we could use and move which was very helpful. Unfortunately, we were camped near a very loud group of lads, who were shouting and screeching until the early hours. I didn't feel comfortable to confront them and there was no way to let the campsite owners know without phoning them. I think we were unlucky as we were camped right next to them, obviously not the campsites fault. Additionally, be aware that Hinkley Point C is close, although not necessarily a negative, we could see and faintly hear it from the campsite.

Great staff, clean place, one fenced area for dogs only. Pub is nearby.

Quaint little site, good walks right on your doorstep. Toilet block very clean, nice and quiet site.

Amazing!

Great stopover from Cornwall :) Very accommodating and very clean. We will definitely be back to stay in the future and maybe do some fishing next time. Thank you once again. Alex and Jack.

Will be returning

We have just spent the bank holiday weekend here camping and fishing, it was so lovely, pitch was located brilliantly and good ground, the amenities were outstandingly clean and always stocked of loo roll! The honesty shop is great and just shows how trusting the owners are. My husband fished in the Alder lake and caught some lovely carp, bream and even an orange tench. Other campers were also friendly and would have a long chat and even a beer! We will be returning next year for a weeks next time.

Our recent stay

This site is very peaceful and quiet and the dog park is an excellent facility - our dog couldn't get enough of it. The site owner is very helpful and didn't mind that we were late arriving. This site is ideal for people who like fishing.

Happy holiday

Loved our holiday so much, we stayed an extra night! We stayed in a bell tent which was gorgeous, with really comfortable beds and great space around the tent - plenty of room for our gazebo. We made full use of the barbecue/fire pit that was provided, making great food and keeping warm. The site was well cared for and very clean. The owners and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The site hosts food pop ups several times a week. Unfortunately we were only there for one of them, but can highly recommend the lasagne which was very tasty and good value for money. We would definitely return and would highly recommend this site.

Lovely site

Only stayed for two nights, but was made very welcome by the owners. They were very friendly and helpfully, the site is very well looked after, nice clean showers and toilets, nice little games room and handy little shop which is stock with the essentials that you may have forgotten to pack. Dogs are welcomed too and the dog park went down a treat with our dog and others. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will return.
