Small Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches May 2023 Private spot in the woods. Lovely atmosphere, facilities cleaned regularly and an awesome location.
Fantastic
May 2023 Fantastic place. Got everything a solo camper or couple could need. Friendly warm welcome. Various pitches, from open field with great views, to wild-ish camping in the woods.
All facilities were clean and tidy and well maintained.
I ordered dinner for the evening. They do Thai food and it was brilliant as it was delivered to me by the owner on a bicycle. You have to experience this unique place.
Will be returning soon.
Get close to nature
Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches May 2023 If you want semi-wild camping, choose the wild camping spots. They are adequately spaced to bring privacy. The wild camping spots are relatively near to the toilets (nothing if you choose a pitch close to the site, 5 mins if you are further, with a bit of a hill). I couldn't comment on the fields.
Make sure you bring, mozzie repellant and bite cream, we had three sunny days, and the gnats were out in the evening and morning. Other than that, the range of birdsong here is glorious, I was serenaded by nightingales, followed by owls.
It was just peaceful and stunning. Be prepared for wheelbarrow runs, but worth it.
An amazing first family camping holiday
Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches May 2023 Just returned from our first family camping holiday at Cefn Coed and it was amazing! We took our 3 year old and chose to stay in the woodlands, it was perfect, peaceful and private.
Adrian and his wife were so lovely and accommodating, we were given the choice of 2 pitches upon arrival and we decided to stay by the horses. What a great choice too, Our daughter loved trekking down the path from our tent to greet them in the mornings.
On the second night we ordered Thai food which was hand delivered to our tent and tasted amazing! We sat round the fire for a late dinner and then watched the stars through the trees, it was absolutely perfect.
Great location and lots to do nearby, we especially loved the steam train ride from Fairborne to catch the ferry to Barmouth Beach. Overall couldn't have been better, we've enjoyed every part of it and will definitely be back soon! Thank you ❤️
Really enjoyed my stay
Small Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Apr 2023 Really enjoyed my stay here. The site was very quiet with just the sounds of the birds and stream. Good views and fire pits in the evenings with marshmallows brought from the camp shop. Toilet were simple but the showers were lovely and warm.
Not crowded even on a Bank Holiday
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2023 Plus: Good views from the field; nice setting; not crowded even on a bank holiday; good location for Coed Y Brenin MT Bing; being able to have a BBQ/fire off the grass.
Not so good: some road noise; no mobile phone reception; bit of a hike up to the toilet block; basic facilities which could have been a bit cleaner.
Picturesque location and friendly owner!
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2023 Campsite is set in a beautiful location and has a real semi-wild feel due to the location but having nice hot showers in the shower block! Adrian was also very friendly and helpful. My partner rented a bike (as I had my own) and we cycled down to Barmouth, which was only 30 minutes away. Great time all round!
Lovely woodland stay
Small Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Mar 2023 Stunning tranquil location. We pitched near the river in a great spot that made us feel isolated (we like this). Facilities were well kept, the walk to the toilet definitely gets your steps in.

Good, hot water, clean bathrooms and a very helpful owner (thank you, Adrian). Also welcoming for dogs, but ensure you keep your dog leashed as there are sheep and horses close by.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Wooded Campervan Pitches Aug 2022 We loved it! Secluded, quiet and clean, it was a great place for our family camper van. The Pad Thai and Red Curry was brilliant, and they had a great little shop.
Beautiful and peaceful stay
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Wooded Campervan Pitches Aug 2022 We had such a lovely stay here, such a beautiful location with lots of lovely walks right at the site. We hired bikes for an easy cycle to Barmouth and back to the pub (don't forget to book! They won't feed you without a reservation at the pub).
We followed other recommendations and tried the Thai cooked by Natalie- best Thai we've ever had! Definitely will return, cannot fault the location or the staff!
Wild camping with access to the nice comforts Small Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Aug 2022 All the staff are wonderful and friendly. The wild pitch we got was perfect for us, out of the way by the river, the only downfall was having to cart all our things up and down a bit of a hill, but it was well worth it. The facilities are great, lovely powerful showers and clean, we would definitely return if we were in the area again!
Amazing wild camping spot
Small Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Aug 2022 Best campsite we have been too. The staff are super friendly, hats off to Sean and Alex for being superhosts and always on hand to help. The location was incredible, would 100% recommend the wild camping spots. Amazing facilities including showers and toilets, even a tuck shop to pick up bits when needed. Couldn't recommend enough and will 100% be going back as soon as possible.
Father-son camping trip
Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Aug 2022 Stayed in the amazing woods on our own pitch, with the sound of gushing water on rocks coming from the river below. The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean and functional. Couldn't recommend it enough 👌
Great campsite

Great quiet site perfect for walkers
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2022 This was a good site. We could choose where to pitch in the field and on exploring, could see there were some lovely pitches in the wooded areas which I would definitely book next time.
Facilities were limited - only three showers on the whole site and four toilets next to the washing up area, all in one small building and were unisex. Showers were locked at night and also for a couple of hours during the day for cleaning. This is fine, but not opening until 8am isn't great if you want to set off early walking etc.
Natalie at the site prepares authentic Thai food which you can pre-order and is delivered to your pitch. A very reasonable £9 got me a vegan green Thai curry, which I think is one of the best I have ever tasted. Very friendly helpful staff and beautifully quiet.
Lovely, peaceful site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Wooded Campervan Pitches Aug 2022 Lovely site with friendly owners who've really tried to give a peaceful, almost wild camping experience with well spaced pitches. The woodland camper pitches are set back above the main field, so very peaceful, which was ideal for our excitable dog (but come prepared for mozzies if you're near the stream).
Showers, toilets etc are clean and well maintained and there's a small shop selling essentials. You can even order Thai food from the owner, which is delicious and a lifesaver after a long day's scrambling in the mountains!
Good location with access to the estuary, Cadair Idris, Barmouth etc.
Recommended.
Great place!!
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2022 We had an amazing time here. So relaxing and beautiful. It's location next to the estuary is ideal for bike rides and walks and I could even do a day of writing as it was so peaceful. We were on the field pitch which was great for our daughter practising her cycling and will try one of the many stunning wooded area pitches next time.
Sean and Adrian couldn't have done more for us and were full of info on what to do in area. We'll be back soon.
Great campsite
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Wooded Campervan Pitches Aug 2022 We had a lovely couple of nights at Cefn Coed. It's a beautiful location with the woods and estuary right there for exploring. The facilities are good and there is a little shop for supplies and the staff were friendly.

Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and I would recommend this site to anybody.
