Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 Fantastic place to camp and good value. It's as close you can get to wild camping without wild camping.
The place is nice and somewhat remote from the rest of the world. Pub 10min down the road, which is nice, and you do get a decent network phone coverage, so you can stay in touch with loved ones (or keep screaming kids entertained for a bit. Your choice).
Facilities are great, with decent showers which are at the top of the campsite. There are portable loos in the motorhome/ carpark area which is not the best but it's practical and clean.
Great campsite and the farmer who runs the site is a lovely bloke and vey knowledgeable of the area. Will definitely come again
Parking could possibly be an issue if it a true British summer hits (wet). I came on my motorcycle and yes I got my bike down to my pitch, but I moved it as it would be a pain later when it rained so I moved it to the carpark. It was quiet when I went so parking was easy.
Still would recommend staying on this campsite though.
Could be amazing VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 View was fantastic and David the owner is very friendly. A relaxed campsite.
We felt the only drawback were the facilities. The portaloos were not good and smelt and, while the main toilet block was better, they too could still do with some cleaning.
Quiet, picturesque stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Mar 2024 Lovely views, very quiet camping site. Good facilities, showers weren't working because of the cold but toilets were very clean. There are taps available as well with fresh drinking water.
There are limited hard gravel pitches for cars/campervans but plenty of tent pitches.
There is a Co-op a 6 minute drive from the campsite as well, which is very handy.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Oct 2023 A peaceful, restful stay, with all the facilities we needed. A very friendly welcome on our arrival, and a lovely view to wake up to!
Music and partying by a huge group Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2023 We stayed two nights at Newcourt.
We badly needed some peace and quiet, having recently gone through a very difficult personal struggle, so we choose a weekend outside of the school holidays in the beautiful Black Mountains, hoping to recharge. The nature is breath-taking and the campsite was clean and tidy but Newcourt had booked a large party of 25 tents in one of the fields.
The very loud music, shouting, screaming, and partying noise shattered the night and continued on until the early hours. Hardly surprising, we didn't sleep a wink and to be honest, the whole thing beggars belief! If you want some peace and quiet in nature, I would not recommend. We got back home more stressed and tired then when we left.
Lovely stay and great facilities Recommends site

Friendly and relaxed Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Very relaxed place, the people running it are really helpful. Some areas are a little slopey so choose well how you pitch.
Very good campsite Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Friendly check in staff. Site as advertised. Very quiet. Nearby pub was closed when we were there.
Welsh weekend VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Owners were very kind and helpful, good facilities for the price and great location.
Peaceful stop over at one of my favourite campsites VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Great walks for the dog and fine views over the Wye valley at sunset.

Great first time location! Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 It was our first camping trip in a brand new tent! Everyone was really lovely, helpful and friendly.
Sleeping on the hill was a challenge but if you're after cheap and cheerful, this was great, clean, tidy and everything that you could need. Don't think we could have picked a better site for our first trip!

Very peaceful and not too crowded place Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2023 The place is very lovely and convenient for tents. We stayed one night from Friday to Saturday and it was very spacious and peaceful. The facilities are a bit old. However, they are quite clean and have all the basics needed.
Very good quality for the budget. Very nice views.
Friendly Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 Friendly place, no frills. Catering to the Duke of Edinburgh so there were lots of kids.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 Would recommend this campsite for the views alone! The location is great and was very peaceful, would definitely come back :)
Amazing site Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 This is a beautiful, quiet campsite.
The views are amazing. The campsite is on a slight hill, but not a problem. The owners are very welcoming.
Just make sure you have some 50p's for the showers. Absolutely no noise pollution from any roads. Beautiful sunset.
Had a lovely stay.
Great location, a shame about the facilities VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 The site, with sloping hillside fields, is amazing and the friendliness of the owners is unrivalled.
However, I felt the facilities were poor. There is a small ablutions block that has a couple of toilets and only one shower for ladies and one for gentlemen. The showers weren't very powerful and this was for a campsite comprising up to 8 fields!
The facility cleanliness is also poor (sadly the 'grot' has set in) with mould surrounded tiny sinks and nowhere to place your wash bag except the floor.
Fantastic value for money! Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 Stayed here after canoeing in Hay.
The site was quiet and we had a whole field to ourselves. Was able to position the van easily despite the site being on a slope and had fantastic views over the rolling hills. Toilets and showers, drinking water and washing up areas available.
Friendly couple running the site and have lots of local information at the reception area.
Exactly what we needed Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 Great park for a short stay.
Showers could do with updating but it did what it said on the tin. For the view, we were happy.
Good and bad points Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 There were good and bad points. The location was good, although the site is on a hill so slopey. There was also a lot of cut grass left on top of the field meaning it got all inside the tent. There was lots of space though so even though it was a busy bank holiday weekend coupled with hay festival weekend, people weren't completely on top of each other.
The facilities weren't great though. There was one men's and one women's shower for the entire site so there was a queue no matter what time of day you went. The toilets were quite far away too in the same block as the showers and they weren't overly clean and ran out of paper towels. They had got a set of portloos in for the busy weekend but by Saturday they didn't smell very good and had no water. There was no soap or lights either. By Sunday evening some of the loos had reached their capacity.
I think it could be a great campsite, but facilities need improvement. The guys running the place were lovely though.
