Trailer Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Medium)Jul 2025

Value for money is respectable for the 18 hours we stayed, arrival has to be between 3pm-7pm and you have to leave site by 10am. £114 for 12 of us for 18 hours to get next to no sleep because of music until stupid o'clock. The music wasn't coming from the camping site either, it was coming from King's Church 1066 we believe, maybe a newly married couple but the screaming, shouting and the music didn't stop until 3am. We came close to packing up and leaving a couple times, considering you're expected to be packed down and out by 10am anyway. Most sites I've visited give you till 12-1pm, which I think would be a bit better for the customers. The situation we had last night, 3am music stopped by time we got to sleep we maybe had 2 hours worth to be up to pack down and be out by 10am to then drive 100+ miles on next to no sleep. Apart from that, facilities are spotless, staff was welcoming and they have wood on site. I would highly recommend due to the hospitality alone, very welcoming but unfortunately for us, the music and noise was too loud. There wasn't much information about the local area and about what's around the area, where the kids can go to a park or where we could take them for a walk. I think ideally, the site is more suited for a nice couple's retreat, considering there's no music events going on at the place next door because they did take the mickey with noise levels. My idea of camping is the peace and tranquillity of it and it just wasn't.

Site's response

Hi Matthew, Thank you for taking the time to leave the review. On this occasion we were sadly let down by the Kings Church that evening when they held a 40th birthday party in their hall. They did originally assure me by email only the day before the party that this would be finished by 12am and then it would just staff packing away after that, so all would be quite. They did also assure me that it would be a band inside the hall and just people talking outside in the garden and in their words 'It shouldn't disturb your campers too much'. Since this event I have been over to meet with them and I have shown them your review, they did apologise and said that they themselves were let down as the people holding the party were only supposed to come with a band but also turned up with a DJ that they hadn't told them about. However, I accept that this doesn't excuse what happened. I have had another couple of people mention that there was some noise that went on to just after midnight and I will be going back over to discuss this in greater detail with the Kings Church, as I don't find it acceptable. I will also be looking to avoid anything like this happening again in the future. Our site is usually nice and peaceful and that is what I strive to achieve and I am terribly sorry that on this occasion my campers and the campsite were let down. On the point of the noise until 3am, I do have a night warden that was sleeping on the site, we were in contact during the evening regarding the noise and he did assure me that all noise had completely stopped by 1.30 am, so I'm not sure where you were hearing noise from until 3am, however, if this was the case, I apologise. Apart from being let down by the noise, it sounds like you liked the campsite and I'm pleased about that. Regarding your point about information. Usually upon arrival between 15.00 and 19.00 either myself or Laura always greet people and give them plenty of information regarding the campsite and then also the location of the local pubs, buses, walks and shops and then answer any other questions that you may have. I'm sorry if you didn't receive this information upon arrival, I can only think that it may have been because you were in a big group and the information was only passed on to one vehicle of your party members with the hope it would be spread amongst the group. I want to thank you for coming to stay with us, apologise again for letting you down and as I said, I will work towards avoiding anything like this again in the future.

Great campsite
