Great group gathering (young families)

Lovely campsite for our annual get together with friends. Booked to be near the lake, but didn't utilise it as it didn't seem very appealing and not ideal for young kids to splash about. The algae scare didn't help, but the restrictions were lifted during our stay. Toilets and showers very, very clean. The camping area was amazing in clean and large pitches. Bins provided but were full, these could have been emptied or provide a few more. Some campers drove way to fast on site where young children were playing. Accident waiting to happen.

Water quality can vary through out the year, and while we’re glad the restrictions were lifted during your stay, we completely understand how the earlier algae concerns might have affected your experience, especially with young children in mind. Regarding the bins, we’re sorry they were full during your stay. Unfortunately, our waste collector missed a scheduled collection due to staff illness, which caused a temporary backlog. We’re working closely with the service provider to ensure this doesn’t happen again and appreciate your patience. On the matter of vehicle speed, we want to reassure you that a 5mph speed limit is in place across the site for everyone’s safety – particularly for children playing nearby. Happy camper!

Lovely area to camp. Field and facilities were great. Had no issues with anything. Happy to return. Value for money. Great area to walk with your dog if you like hiking.

Perfect for siblings camping for a long weekend

Nice campsite with lots of toilets and the location is lovely next to the lake. One of the showers had loads of spiders in hence the 4 star, but great for the price.

Lakeside campsite

Great stay at Lakeside Caravan Park. Toilets and showers really clean and tidy. Recommend walking into the village to visit the cafe and The Red Lion Pub, food in both was lovely.

Fantastic

This site offers everything. Walks, water based sports, bird watching and two pubs within a 20 minute walk.

Amazing!

From the first second, the staff were very helpful and great towards us. The place was very nice and had lovely views. Thanks for all of your help.

Lovely peaceful campsite

First time here. Clean shower facilities, plenty of loos, a place to wash your dishes and very good customer service. A quiet, lovely location I will come back. I love that there is a cafe near by and also a shop. There is boat hire and horse riding near by too.

Good clean site

Lovely clean site. Well looked after. Needed Clearer signage about where to go and an XL pitch didn’t feel XL! Be nice to have more to do on site- play area/ football pitch etc

Hi Jo, Thank you for your kind words — we're so pleased you found the site lovely, clean, and well looked after! We're sorry to hear you found the signage a bit unclear. Just to mention, we do send out arrival instructions via email prior to guests stays, which include details on how to find and access your pitch, a site map and a telephone number you can call if you have any problems. That said, we're always looking to improve and will review our on-site signage to help make things even easier. Regarding the XL pitch, we'll take another look at how we describe and allocate those to ensure they better meet expectations. As for activities, we do have an on-site play area, and just outside the campsite is Llangorse Common — a lovely open space that's perfect for games like football and a great spot for kids to run around. Fantastic stay

Fantastic stay, everything you need for a perfect relaxing break. Toilet block kept clean, with at least 2/3 cleans a day. Cafe, shop and pub all onsite which is perfect for all your needs. Activities on the lake to keep everyone happy, with plenty of walks. To top it all off, a Fish and Chip van arrived onsite, perfect👌

A regular visitor

A regular port of call when available. Being an hour from home it is one of our go to sites on the return leg from a road trip, or just for a night or two away. Our dog loves the sights and scents on Llangorse common. It is his break as well.

Sunny stay

We have just returned after a great 2 night stay. Everything you needed is there, cafe, basic shop and a pub serving food. We stayed in the orchard and would highly recommend it, it's very sheltered and the amenities are spotlessly clean. In fact, the facilities are the best we have encountered so far they are self contained units with shower, toilet and wash hand basin all in 1. There are 2 pubs and a shop all within a 10 minute stroll into Llangorse. The weather over the past weeks has been superb and this was the icing on the cake, we had full use of the lake and outside tables. I would imagine my review would be a little more down beat if the weather was not as good.

Would 10/10 recommend!

We have just come back from our lovely weekend camping at the Lakeside Caravan Site. We stayed on the Ernie tenting and caravan field, electrical hook up, with the most incredible views of Wales surrounding us. It was our puppy Bernie's first camping trip and safe to say he loved it (Well aside from the moment somebody next to us arrived at 11.30pm and decided to set up base. That scared him a lot, the sounds of banging about and him not being able to see where it was coming from). The showers and toilets were lovely and the walk to the cafe, shop and bar were beautiful. We found ourselves going for so many walks around the area, which our puppy adored so much as you can imagine. We met some really lovely people whilst we were here and would definitely come back again with friends to show them how lovely the experience is. Thank you guys! We were graced with the weather too which made it 100% better!

Camping site

Had great time. Camp site very clean, staff in cafe and pub was great, would come back again.

Perfect site!

We stayed at the site for 5 nights whilst we explored South Wales. We made some amazing memories but it was only possible because we knew we'd be going back to a lovely site each night. The facilities were perfect - we toured Wales for 3 weeks camping and this site had the most facilities! On site cafe, shop, pub, lake with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Will definitely be back!

Relaxing weekend

Shower block a little small, very tiny individual rooms and poor water flow when all in use. No motorhome service point, only place to empty grey water was a grid two feet off the ground.

Our shower block is relatively new and designed to offer modern, self-contained cubicles with a toilet, shower, and sink all in one space. Many guests enjoy the added privacy this setup provides, though we understand the layout might not suit everyone’s preferences. While water flow is generally consistent across the site, there may be occasional dips during peak usage times, and we’re always monitoring this to ensure the best experience possible. In Ernie’s camping field where you stayed, there is a designated grey water disposal point that can be used for manual emptying. We acknowledge it may not be the most convenient setup for all motorhomes, and we’re considering improvements for the future. Thanks again for your comments—they help us make the site even better. Great Location

A great location for exploring local villages and the beacons. We visited Lakeside, an excellent site complete with a lake with hire boats and lovely walks within easy reach. The local village of Llangorse is within walking distance, with lovely pubs. The site itself has a cafe, shop, and a pub serving food and drink with a pub garden. The hard pitches are in the Orchard, and the toilet and shower facilities are cleaned twice a day and are spotless. The facilities are heated (when required), and all the usual other camping facilities are within the site and easily accessible. A great campsite that we will definitely return to.

Lovely place

Beautiful surroundings, toilets were always clean. Was so useful having the shop and cooked food options with the cafe and bar. Will definitely return.

Perfect bank holiday weekend

Absolutely beautiful site. Peaceful, well organised and great instructions. Facilities were immaculate and well looked after. Really loved it and will be coming back.
