Large Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2025

The site is small and friendly, but the pitch size was great, grass and facilities kept beautiful and clean, the wash area has all you need including a fridge, kettle ect.. only one shower but I wasn't in a rush. It was our first time camping and the other campers were great and gave us advice and help putting the tent up for the first time, the gate uses your phone number as recognition so once your given the number to ring, all you have to do is ring it with the phone on your booking form and it gives you access to the site.

Lovely site

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2025

I have stayed at this campsite before as it is very convenient for me when I visit relatives in Shipley. There was a heavy downpour of rain before I arrived and the campsite owner rang me to make sure I knew which pitch I was on, as the rain might have smudged the map at the entrance. Very considerate. I have walked around Wharfedale from a young age and the clear view over the valley from the campsite is lovely, especially when the sun is setting. The site is well kept, clean and quiet. There are some lovely walks from the site, down into the valley and round the corner through the woods and along the ridge looking over Wharfedale and Airedale. The trees at the front of the site are full of bird song in the evening. The road outside is quite busy with traffic and Leeds Bradford airport is not far behind the site so there is some aeroplane noise. Neither of these things worried me and I would definitely stay here again.

A small clean site

Camping Pod - Camping Pods (Dog Friendly)Jun 2025

An excellent campsite experience! Pods and facilities were all very clean and homely. Ideal for a group of friends get together (with families). We would definitely stay here again!

Site's response

Good afternoon, glad you enjoyed the pods and all our facilities. What did you think to the pop up bar - should we do it again?

Camping Pod - Camping Pods (Dog Friendly)Jun 2025

Stayed 2 nights in a pod. Pod well equipped, very nice, and the site also included helpful things like soap, washing up liquid and cloths. The view is beautiful. But to be aware that the planes are noisy and the local pub has closed down. We walked to The Fleece in Otley for food and would highly recommend, although it's half an hour walk and a bit steep on the way back. A mobile drinks van came on Saturday evening and they are hoping to get a food stand on certain evenings too.

Amazing!

Medium Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Really lovely, small site. Good location to connect to the local area. Onsite facilities adequate. Shower block (toilets & shower) modern and clean. Washing up shed, which had sinks, washing up liquid and dish cloths provided as well as a fridge freezer. I would recommend the site, only downside is you are under the flight path for Leeds/Bradford airport.

VW-Type Campervan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Great little campsite, easy to use the remote system. The only downside was there is only one shower for quite few campers. This site is situated with lovely views over the Moors, however it is also on the flight path for Leeds Bradford airport. It is quite interesting watching the plans coming in for landing but can be a little noisy.

A lovely, well kept site

Single Axle Caravan - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

We had a lovely stay. It notes in the description that there may be some noise due to the site being on the flight path for Leeds/Bradford Airport. There was, but not at night. The staff are very friendly. Unfortunately, the pub which is a few minutes walk away is closed whilst a new tenant is found, but we had great service from Fusion Private Hire (around £5 each way fare) and ate in Otley. The pub we went to (Whitakers) stopped serving food at 5pm so we were too late to eat there. Instead, we treated ourselves to a lovely meal at Evey's Mediterranean Restaurant - excellent service and delicious food.

No negatives

Large Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2025

Excellent site, no problems at all. The facilities were clean at all times, there was free use of a fridge freezer and sink for cleaning and drinking water. The toilets and showers were clean and had very hot water, and electric hook-up next to each pitch. The only downside is the campsite is directly underneath the Leeds Bradford Airport flight path, so there were low flying planes going over head, but that's was a small downside to an otherwise great campsite.

Site's response

Good morning and thank you for taking the time to review our campsite, glad you appreciate all our facilities and their cleanliness as for the planes, although the campsite came first in 1850 the airport followed shortly after

Lovely compact site

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2025

Stayed one night here on way to Leeds. Lovely clean site, no person to talk to, everything was done online. It is on the Leeds and Bradford airport flight path but this didn't bother us. Thought the price £25 was fair but then had to pay £2 for the dog and Electric was an extra £10 which was optional. This made the one night stay a bit expensive so didn't have the electric as we have solar panels. Local pub is shut at the moment.

May 2025

Brilliant little site, stayed here many times visiting family and friends. Easy access to Leeds Bradford Ilkley all about 10 minutes on the train. Walked to Ilkley over the moors about 3/4 hours. Cycled to Bolton Abbey 26 mile return on mainly B roads and similar distance to Almscliffe Crags again, mainly B roads. Otley Chevin is a 10 minute walk away with a plethora of walks. Guiseley is a lovely busy little village with many pubs and restaurants about 30 minutes walk away. The Chevin pub looks closed at the moment but another pub The ING's is only 10 mins away and serves great beer such as Saltaire Blonde. The birds wake you up before the planes and obviously more planes in the summer season than winter. Only downside is there is not an on site waste water disposal for Motorhomes. Telephone entry system brilliant - no need to deal with pompous officials like on some bigger sites. Recommend unreservedly.

Great little site

Camping Pod - Camping Pods (Dog Friendly)May 2025

Me and my three kids had a great stay here. They loved the pod and it was very clean and cosy when we got there. The site seems to be unmanned but everyone respects the rules and looks after the place like it was their own home. A little playground for the kids might have been nice but just down the road (1/4 a mile) there is a fantastic park so it doesn't really matter.. Loved it and would stay again, especially as the value for money was amazing!

Lovely location, nice neat little campsite

Single Axle Caravan - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2025

Great location with incredible views down the Wharfedale Valley. Nice and neat campsite. Facilities very clean and perfectly adequate, but only one shower and flow was a bit weak. Quite expensive compared to other similar sites.

A little beauty

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2025

Easy arrival, details via phone. Site is between Menston and Otley, and is very well maintained. Small shed for washing up, small toilet block (2x toilets) (3x sinks) (1x shower) also a plug point for hairdryer etc. Overhead airplane noise but wasn't too bad. Walking routes from the campsite, also a pub and a Waitrose in Otley town. If walking, it is a hill to get there and back.

Site's response

We believe the site is a little beauty also, and appreciate you taking the time to send a review it really makes a difference (glad you found Waitrose - did you explore all the independent shops in Otley?)

A lovely site

Large A-class or Tag Axle Motorhome - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2025

A lovely little site with fantastic views. Pitches are generous and very level. The site is very tidy, and facilities are clean. The location is just within walking distance (if you don't mind a hill) to the lovely little town of Otley. We spent a lot of our time away from the site so appreciated being able to opt for a cheaper pitch fee by going non electric. The site has a barrier so you feel quite secure.

Motorhome - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2025

This stay was perfect for us, and the contact I spoke to on the phone was extremely friendly and helpful. We knew it was on the flight path for Leeds Bradford airport, so we were prepared for the noise, and didn't let it bother us. Another plus is the electric hook-up being optional (we didn't). The only stars dropped are because there really isn't enough toilet and shower facilities, and the toilet block was cold. Also, the £2 per dog per night charge, when there is nothing provided for dogs (no dog walk, dog shower, poo bins). But overall, perfect for our stay and will return. Thank you!

Great place

Camped here for the weekend, had a peaceful time. Showers and toilets were very clean, as was the separate washing area. I would definitely recommend.

Motorhome - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2025

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay. We didn't use the facilities as we are self sufficient but the staff were extremely helpful and I was impressed with the phone entry system for the entry barrier. We walked into Otley Friday where there was an array of Restaurants/Pubs but a 25 min uphill walk home and into Menston on Saturday, which was lovely to walk around and then hopped onto a train into Ilkley which took about 10mins. Just note that The Chevin pub 300 yards from the site closed on Friday night, so may not reopen.

Nice campsite

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2025

Nice location, nice campsite, clean facilities with hot water. Only gripe is the lights in the toilet/shower block is on a timer, so can go out just as you are cleaning yourself. I had booked the wrong night initially, but this was kindly amended.
