Great for Robin Hood's Bay and North Yorkshire Coast/Moors

Ideally situated, short walk to the beach on a country path not a road which was ideal with our dog. Within easy reach of Whitby and Scarborough. Had a problem with drainage from the shower, spoke to Reception and it was rectified that day. The toilet/shower block was spotless. Would recommend to couples/families and will return ourselves.

Peaceful, quiet site

Lovely site, could do with longer in the showers (5 mins max) or at least a warning. Also some info on the local area when you arrive would be great, like pub, shop, bus stop etc.

I would like to point out that there are notices saying how long the showers run. Also, there is information in Reception and at the display Information centres. At each Toilet block and Pot Wash areas...…what more can we do? Or even just ask and we would tell you.

was a last minute stay but we really enjoyed and will come back again. Reception was so helpful when i called for booking. Next time will stay longer

Great location, facilities could be better

Location great! Compared to other sites we have been to the facilities could have been better. For example, the hot taps in the bathrooms and wash up area just didn't hardly work, hot water trickled out. The bathrooms didn't seem to be cleaned that often, there was a dirty plaster on the floor in the ladies shower area for the duration of our stay. I would stay again but only because of the location.

Thank you for your review. When you stayed with us, we unfortunately had a few people on site that were not as respectful as we would expect... this is not the normal! As regards the taps, these are press taps which need fully depressing.

Lovely site in a peaceful location

Lovely site with well kept pitches. Nice location close to a village pub that served great food. Clean, well maintained showers on a 5 minute timer. Nice temperature. A lovely walk through fields and a nature reserve took less than half an hour to reach Robin Hood's Bay.

Short stop off on our East Coast adventure

A hidden gem of a campsite, very tranquil but only a short walk to Robin Hood's Bay & a lovely local pub. Facilities are very clean and the camping areas are spacious.

A lovely and clean, well located site. We really enjoyed our stay. I hadn't realised that the larger motor home/caravan field was locked down until 730am (even to those with an access code) as we needed to leave much earlier than this.

Good location for Robin Hood's Bay

A nice site, 15 minutes walk down to Robin Hood's Bay. Our caravan pitch No 9 was directly next to the toilet block. We had the smell of the waste water drains, which we did tell the site about. They did come to clean the drain, but I don't think it made much difference! Apparently, there were no other pitches available for us to move onto, which was surprising, as there was a constant turnover of caravans/motorhomes. Staying for only 2 to 3 nights. We didn't have much of a view from our pitch down by the toilet block. Would be much better on the opposite side against the hedge or in the middle. If you go to this site, I suggest you specifically request not to be put on caravan pitch No 9. In our view, this pitch should not be sold as a pitch. Hence the reason for our value for money rating.

Thank you for your review. Whereas you do not like the pitch, other people do specify that they want this pitch. What you do not realise is there is a knock-on effect on the booking chart, and certain pitches are either asked for or they accommodate a different length of Tourer/Motorhome. After 69 years running this park, we tend to know what we are doing!

Fabulous stay

Great campsite very friendly staff in reception

Good location, quite close to Robin Hood's Bay, unfortunately, not to much to do at Robin Hood's bay. That said, it is very pretty. Reception staff were brilliant very friendly and helpful, would possibly have liked some bins near the toilet block - you had to go out by the main gate even if you were only dumping a small amount of rubbish. All the other campers on site were very friendly and considerate which is always a plus. In conclusion for us, if the site was slightly nearer to Whitby (seven mile walk) then it would be completely perfect. Obviously, that is our problem more than the campsite's, but there is a lot to do in Whitby and not so much for Robin Hood's Bay.

A good experience

The site is generally very well maintained, clean and tidy. Getting to it could be difficult. As access is down a narrow road but it is possible for campers and caravans. The reception was excellent by presumably the owner? And instructions were clear. The site has basic facilities so no shop or other services. We would camp here again. I've only given it 4 stars for location due to the lack of natural features within the site. Some sites are within more interesting grounds/scenery, but as a base to explore the local area, it's great. A walk through the site to Robin Hood's Bay is possible in 15 mins but it's not good if you are older or unsteady. I've given 4 stars for value as it was at the high end on price. There is nowhere on site to actually sit down if you are just travelling light with a tent. A few benches here and there would be great.

Near Robin Hood's Bay

Lovely campsite. Well run with friendly staff. Went midweek which was lovely and peaceful. Family field has beautiful views and is a 10 minute walk through the 'fairy' wooded trail down to Robin Hood's Bay. This is my third visit here (second visit having been 14years ago!). I am not disappointed as it is still superb. I will be coming back, hopefully before another 14 years goes by!

Our stay

Toilets maybe cleaned more often as one day, they were missed. Also, we all understand the saving of water, but my wife hadn't finished when the water stopped and she stood there coved in soap as the shower wouldn't restart, so had to swap to another shower.

Good spot

Good location for pleasant walk into Robin Hood's Bay. Busy family field site, facilities good. More expensive than other sites we've stayed at.

Great weekend on a great site

Great couple of nights on this site, pitches are a good size, facilities are clean and well cared for. Nice walk to the village with a local pub serving great food. An easy walk into Robin Hoods bay.

Nice but a bit dated

Nice, clean site. A bit dated but everything there that you need, showers nice and warm. Easy walk into Robin Hood Bay. Although, not able to connect to the Wi-Fi - needed a code which wasn't provided on arrival.

Great short break

First time stay at Middlewood Farm in a pod. Pod was spotless clean and comfortable with great use of internal space with fold down beds/chairs. Facilities were very good with recently refurbed main shower block, showers hot and albeit on a timer, perfectly fine. Location of camp is superb with a short walk to Robin Hood bay and also situated on the cinder path cycle/walking route. Simple checking in process and information provided by owners to all local facilities. Food and drinks also available in the village. Great stay and no doubt we will return to continue exploring the area.
