About the site

This quiet site sits on the edge of the village of Caldbeck in this stunning part of the Lake District. Campers here can enjoy easy access to many of the area's most popular walking trails, including direct access to the Cumbrian Way, which runs between Ulverston and Carlisle. Tents and trailer tents are welcome on both the ten non electric grass pitches and the three electric grass pitches, which each come with a 16 amp hook up. Enjoy scenic riverside views of the River Caldew, which passes through the site, then make your way up to a local pub a short five minute walk away. There are also plenty of family friendly attractions surrounding the site, including the Lake District Wildlife Park, a 20 minute drive away and Aira Force Waterfall, 30 minutes away. Beautiful lake running through camp, space for wild swimming at bottom. Fire pits on each pitch, pitches are of a very good size! The site was very peaceful with little to no noise in the evenings. Host was lovely and friendly. Would definitely return.
