Monks Barn Farm is a family-owned site set on a working farm just five minutes from the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Onsite, there are grass and hardstanding pitches for tourers and a selection for CAMC members. Enjoy scenic countryside views overlooking the Ilmington Hills or scenic strolls beside the nearby River Stour. It also makes a great base for exploring the North Cotswolds AONB (15 minutes) and Warwick (25 minutes).

About the site


Set just a five minute drive from the centre of the historic market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, this family friendly site provides an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds AONB (15 minutes) and the charming town of Warwick (25 minutes). Nestled on a 70 acre working farm, it also offers peaceful countryside surroundings and scenic walks along the banks of the River Stour. There are eight pitches in Field Barn, five hardstanding and three grass pitches (open to all). All are suitable for caravans, motorhomes, and campervans, with the option of a 16 amp metered electric hook up on each pitch. The CL field is a dedicated field for CAMC members will have access to five pitches, one a mown grass pitch and the other four hard standings. During the winter season, all available pitches will be hardstanding. There is also a range of cottages onsite and B&B rooms available in the main farmhouse. Dogs are welcome here! Good walk across the fields to the village of Clifford Chambers (pub 20 minute walk), but this is a low lying river meadow so does have normal flooding issues.

Grass pitches are available April to October, hardstanding pitches are open all year.

Site facilities include a small unheated toilet block (shower 50p per five minutes), a washing machine (free), a chemical disposal point, a dog and boot wash area and general waste recycling.

There are also electricity points available onsite for you to pay for what you require throughout your stay.

Clifford Chambers is a 15 minute walk across the river meadows with the New Inn serving lovely food, (footpath crosses low-lying river meadow and can be subject to flooding). Stratford-upon-Avon is a five minute drive away with plenty of pubs, including The Old Tramway, Cox's Yard, the Windmill, and the Garrick.

The nearest shop is a large Waitrose (two minute drive), with a Co-op shop a little further along the road. Stratford-upon-Avon itself has many choices of food stores, including Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons, and M&S Food Hall.

If you need to get around, there is a bus stop within a five minute walk from the farm entrance.

Enjoy peaceful countryside walks along the banks of the River Stour, just five minutes from the site. Bancroft Gardens (10 minutes) is perfect for picnics, duck feeding, boating, and peaceful strolls along the water.

A five minute drive, or an hour's walk across the fields, takes you to Stratford-upon-Avon town centre, home to Shakespeare's Birthplace, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Anne Hathaway's Cottage, The Mad Museum, and Stratford Butterfly Farm.
