First, enjoy a day out at Abbey Park. Sit by the lily pool for a picnic before taking the kids to the play area where they can bounce on a trampoline, build castles in the sandpit and ride down a slide.
If the little ones are still full of energy, take them to Wacky Warehouse at the Strawberry Field. The youngsters can run, jump and climb through the multiple levels of the play area whilst you catch your breath with a coffee at the café.
Meet the animals at the All Things Wild Nature Centre. Say hello to the monkeys and goats before strolling on the Step Through Time Dinosaur Walk or an afternoon at the Farmyard Safari. If the sun isn’t shining, head inside to the Dino Barn or let the kids run wild in the Jungle Mayhem play area.
After feeding the animals, try and spot the wild deer at Broadway Tower Country Park. Head up the tower to see spectacular views of the surrounding countryside too.
Spend the afternoon at Evesham Leisure Centre. Kids can have a go on the climbing wall before taking a dip in the 25m swimming pool. Older members of the family can unwind in the sauna and steam room at the health suite.
You can also unwind on a scenic boat trip over the River Avon with the Handsam Boat Company. Cruise over the river on a 25 minute tour or hire a rowing boat to explore at your own pace.
Or experience a ride on a vintage steam train at Evesham Vale Light Railway. Take the train to the playground area where kids can run around in the play fort as you enjoy a packed lunch with a view of Evesham Vale.
A little further from the town is the Avonvale MES Miniature Railway. Ride on the mini track as you head into a tunnel before coming out over a bridge. Look out for the dinosaurs along the route too!
Afterwards, soak up the history at the Almonry Heritage Centre. See the displays of Anglo-Saxon treasure and book in advance to get different trail maps and themed puzzles – fun for the whole family.
Close to Evesham, head to the bustling city of Cheltenham and take a dip in the famous Spa Waters or explore Greyfriars’ House and Gardens in Worcester.
