About the site
Crake Trees Manor is a friendly glamping and camping site based on a family farm, high in the Yorkshire Dales. The family are passionate about regenerative farming and have created a beautiful farm which is rich in wildlife and enjoys a stunning setting in the Westmorland Dales, not far from the Lake District. It's an area of picturesque river valleys, walking routes and more challenging hills and peaks - yet only 15 minutes drive from the M6 and 30 minutes from Penrith. The acres of wild grasses, spacious wild meadows, and access to quiet footpaths make this the perfect place to recharge your batteries and get back to nature. On clear nights, you'll enjoy incredible dark skies, while farm and wildlife safaris run every Saturday, which can be added as an extra. Camping is on around 30 informal and unallocated pitches, set across three acres of wonderful wildflower meadows. All pitches are non-electric and allow tents up to 3.5m x 5.5m. Campfires are not permitted, but fire pits can be hired from the site subject to availability. Please note these are cash only. Campervans have the choice of four grass or four gravel. Grass pitches are just above the camping pods and have lovely views to the west over the meadows. The gravel pitches are near the farmhouse and face the eastern Pennines and look down over the farm. No electric hook up or waste disposal, but very close to underfloor heated individual shower rooms and the community kitchen The site also has three camping pods. They are extremely spacious, and have electric heating and lights, use of a cool box, a private outdoor area with a picnic table, seating and a fire pit. Perfect for enjoying the sun setting and beautiful views over the farm. Each pod has a sleeping bench for two and space for camp beds. Bring your own bedding. Each pod sleeps up to two adults and two children up to 14 years old. Outside each pod is a private area, with wooden outdoor seating, a table and an optional fire pit BBQ (add as an extra when booking) for cooking on or sitting around as darkness falls. All fuel for the fire pit must be purchased on site. Order breakfast baps (fresh made from the site's own pork and eggs) delivered to guests by quad bike, with veggie/ vegan options available. Dogs are welcome to join you as long as they are kept on a short lead at all times, including when you are at your pitch or pod (add as an extra when booking) No open fires or campfires allowed. Fire pits can be hired from the site and include a fire starter kit. All wood and fuel must be purchased from the site.
